At each visit he asks about my latest health updates and any issues I'm having. He'll adjust where he pokes me with the needles based on this. He accepts insurance. Even though my insurance does not cover acupuncture I find him reasonably priced and he offers a discount if you buy a package. The office is overall very nice. It's well kept and clean.

Wow, was I wrong--Mark Moschinsky has been practicing his profession at Union Square for over 30 years! Michael is thorough, comforting and I feel like he really cares-I never feel rushed, but more like I'm catching up with a friend...who checks my pulses! And the treatment is fantastic!! He explains exactly what he's doing and the reason behind it, and is very gentle with the needles. My digestion and sleep has improved, and I've gotten relief from hip pain that's plagued me for years. I literally teared up after my last session (the first I'd had for hip/lower back pain)--the relief was so immediate and pleasurable that I was overcome. A to Zen is part of a health suite in midtown, and it's very soothing and calm. It smells nice, and I love the soothing music. Read on:…read more I recently incurred a stress fracture in the third metatarsal on my right foot due to an aggressive training regimen for an upcoming half marathon (that's 50+ miles per week on a treadmill at an incline in minimalist footwear, or the sort of routine that would have even a more avid athlete running for the hills, pun intended). Following reviews of X-rays and an MRI, I was confined to a medical boot and my podiatrist claimed it would take 3-4 weeks to fully heal. After merely a week in the care of Miguel Maya, I was no longer limping or in extreme pain and my podiatrist confirmed I was "beyond the clinical curve" in terms of healing time. Three weeks later, I laced up my running shoes and embarked on my first six miles since the diagnosis which felt pretty damn good. Even better, though, is that Miguel enabled my expedient recovery in a totally natural manner. With his oversight, I traded Chinese herbs and a far greater quality of care for over-the-counter medication and the occasional X-ray to confirm I was on track. Further, he's suggested a few books on meditation to help alleviate stress and has begun to resolve other ailments other doctors have failed to adequately address. They both have an exceptional bed-side (table-side?) manner, and intersperse humour with professionalism, as well as an in-depth knowledge of the human body. Of late, my treatments have been entirely with Susan, and she has been amazing at finding and working out every issue I bring to her. Appointments are easy to come by, and they also don't get twisted if something happens and you need to re-schedule (although try not to do so, as this is a very small practice that has to juggle a lot of patients' needs).
