I live different months in MN & PA states & here, using the Y pool swim to ease joints/back issues…read more This is no doubt the best Y w/its clean, modern locker/shower facilities, kid's pool with slides. But, there's only one 4 lanes lap pool so I have no idea why they had to "rest/close" the pool from 1-4pm weekdays. In both MN & PA, lap pool is opened all day 5:15am-8pm weekdays. If lap pool was used for swim team or life guard training, they'd open the kid's pool for lap swim. In Philly, there is one pool with no kids' pool. So certain hours, 2-3 lanes of pool are reserved for kids lesson/ fam swim, leaving 2 lanes for lap swim. But the pool is in use fr 5:15 till closing at 8 weekdays or 6/ 4pm weekends, except for Friday 2.5 hrs of pool cleaning. They tried to maximize the pool's usage to benefit members. Why such a waste of resources here in Avon, IN? I saw that the staff were just hanging out, doing nothing near the pool while members were not allowed 1-4pm to use the pool nor the sauna. It would be the best time for some ppl to swim/sauna in these 3 wasted hours. I hope that the management of Hendricks Y will reconsider their pool hours and not waste such a wonderful resource for its community. I will upgrade this to a 5 star if this is changed for the better (or even 6; ).

My two daughters attended Goddard from 2020 to 2022, and overall, our family had a mixed experience…read morethat varied significantly depending on the child and the classroom. Our older daughter, who was in the pre-K program, had a wonderful experience. She is naturally calm, observant, and quiet, and we found that the environment was a great fit for her personality and developmental stage. Her teachers were kind, engaged, and provided a nurturing learning experience that we genuinely appreciated. Our younger daughter, who was between the ages of 1 and 3 while attending, had a more challenging experience. She is a highly active, engaged child who was also dealing with chronic ear infections due to a congenital condition. Unfortunately, not all of her teachers were equipped to meet her needs. We had concerns in two of the three classrooms she was placed in. The most serious concern occurred when I arrived early for pick-up one day and witnessed a long-tenured teacher handling my daughter physically in a way I found completely unacceptable. I immediately reported the incident to both the assistant director and the director, who took action and moved her to a different classroom. While I appreciated their responsiveness, the experience was distressing and significantly impacted our trust. In the subsequent classroom, my daughter continued to struggle, and I believe part of this was due to a mismatch between her energy level and the teacher's capacity--particularly as the teacher had limited mobility. It felt, at times, like some teachers were not fully engaged or willing to adapt to a more active child who did not have any developmental concerns or diagnoses, just a different temperament than her older sister. The final classroom she was in made a huge difference. She had two incredibly hands-on, attentive teachers who truly connected with her, and she absolutely thrived. I only wish that had been our experience from the beginning. In summary, Goddard offers some strong programs and caring educators, but consistency in staff quality and responsiveness to different children's needs varied greatly in our experience. If your child is more laid-back, they may do well here. But if your child is more active or high-energy, I would recommend checking in frequently and being an advocate to ensure their needs are being fully met.

The experience of having our son enrolled at the school started fantastic and told numerous friends. Unfortunately my son was harmed due to insufficient supervision this month. When speaking with the school they let us know there was nothing to be done, no corrective measures could be taken and the teachers are "learning to watch all students". If you chose to enroll make sure you clarify if the teachers in your child's room are trained or still learning. There is an abdication of responsibility if caused by insufficient training per the school.

There was ABSOLUTELY no place like this ever before or after! I am who I am today much because this place added to my life in ways of discipline, taught me life skills, afforded me opportunities that no other child-care center has ever offered, had childcare providers that had true passion and love for children and their jobs unlike other places providing childcare. I would say this place had vision beyond and above any place has ever since for this lev k of child care and education. Absolutely the best place I could have ever experienced as a child, as a teen and young adult! I am so thankful for Sherry, Grandma, Uncle Sonny, Karen, Pam, Paula, Mac, Terry, Patty Ann, etc. my memories are full, vivid and filled with love for this place that provided my first and most impressionable years of education and life experience! Maybe some people saw it otherwise but didn't actually attend there? Did they work there? Did they know the true place they choose to speak of based on a surface level experience and moment in time? I can speak loudly and proudly of the wonderful place this was and the impact it had on my life as a human! Thank you Sherry

Miss Sherry doesn't tolerate inappropriate behavior, and the kids know who is boss. However, she's always kind and really cares about the kids. I enjoyed getting to chat with her when we were allowed to go inside. With covid protocol they don't allow parents inside the building. They were amazing BTW with covid and never skipped a beat. My kids didn't feel like a pandemic was happening because there're routine was modified but not upended. Kids go outside daily and often multiple times a day. They learn life skills. My kids were fully dressing themselves in snow clothes gloves boots etc at 3/4 and reading site words in preK. They learned to ride a bike and skate there. You won't be disappointed!

Read Me if Considering this School!!…read more I write today to share our experience with ABCs and 123s now doing business as The Weston School. When we first toured the facility we found the staff friendly and welcoming, the only catch I was apprehensive about was we were offered a small discount in exchange for a 5 star review. The menu they offer the children is ridiculous, I don't know how many times I saw from their app my child was being fed things most adults wouldn't eat on a daily basis (hard boiled eggs, baked beans, egg patty) . Often I would pick up a child who was clearly hungry because she's picky. I understand they're trying to provide a healthy meal but I would rather her eat. Security isn't taken very seriously, I cannot count the number of times parents have tried to follow me in without signing into the computer system that opens the door or parents just holding the door for anyone to walk in behind them. The staff while generally friendly seems to change often, I can't count how many "directors" they've had. Parents without proper placards and Staff parking in handicap spots that is never enforced. I've watched people with actual placards have to wait for parents who have no business parking in them to clear the spot. However the real issue comes at the end. With very little warning, they decided to stop driving the bus route to take our daughter to school (a school that if you check the list of schools they service is still listed). They claim a lack of staff caused this as well as our child being the only one attending that kindergarten school, however other schools are still serviced. ZERO attempts were made to help keep us as clients. It was just sorry but we're not going to drive to your child's school anymore so we're dropping you completely, with little warning. My advise is look into other schools. I know that finding child care is difficult however I'm sure that better options can be found as this provider will have no loyalty to you and will drop you with no warning.

This business is now the Weston School. I thought long and hard about posting this review and since…read moreit has to do with my son, I chose to go ahead and leave one. I'll start with the positives- the staff and teachers were nice. The updates through the app were great (when they actually posted them). The prices are affordable. Now on the other hand- the communication in this school is terrible. They don't respond to messages you send via the app and the director takes days if not a second email to respond back. We weren't even told that one of my sons favorite teachers was leaving either. And then on his last day, his current teacher had no idea that we were even removing him. Now onto the food. They do not track eating habits accurately at all. I don't know how many times it would show that he had ate ALL of his food and it was a food he never even had before. And granted, my son is a picky eater.. But don't lie about him eating! He came home starving 90% of the time and it was never communicated that he wasn't eating much. They say they send updates on progress, pictures, and of course their eating habits, but this was far and few between when they were posted, other than the "ate all" of lunch or snack posts. We got the most updates we've ever received on our very last day. Hopefully someone new came in and will do a better job than they've been doing the last few months. I am not one to leave bad reviews but I felt other parents needed to know my experience before they decided to enroll their child here.
