This daycare spot is one of three under the Playschool umbrella. They have spaces for infants all the way up through kindergarten. For the infants, there are three rooms with eight babies in each room. And moving onward from that age, there are more and more kids due to less caretakers per child ratios. The staff were welcoming and gave us a tour. They shared the fact that they are open from 7 AM to 6 PM and you can drop off and pick up your child whenever you need to during that window. They also give you the option to do part time and pick the days you would like to attend. Each year, they offer two weeks of vacation where you can skip the tuition for that week. They also seem to have fun events like picture day, egg hunts, child recognition ceremonies, and more. We are happy we stumbled across this spot for our daughter. read more

We've had such a positive experience at this daycare! My daughter is excited and motivated to go each day and loves to share what she's learned -- from shapes and animals to words in Spanish and fun songs. I really appreciate how she's learning so much while still having fun. It was a rough transition for her starting care, but the school and her teachers showed so much patience and gave her some extra love to help her adjust. Beware! Do NOT send your precious children to this cesspool facility. This place is the epitome of every parents worse nightmare when it comes to leaving their child in the care of others. If parents knew what went on behind the scenes at this place they would be horrified. My daughter was a dedicated teacher & employee for almost 2 years. She adored & cared for every child as if they were her own. However, as soon as she began reporting issues to the director, she fell victim to constant harassment & bullying. She was finally blindsided via text notification after clocking out, that she was no longer employed & her own children had been unenrolled. The Play School at Legacy didn't have the professional decency to even have a conversation or send an email explaining why she was no longer employed. When my daughter called to inquire about her dismissal, she was told "we just thought you were unhappy so we took that as your resignation." To add insult to injury, the school told all the parents & other employees that my daughter resigned. Great way to keep a single mother of two from collecting unemployment. The aforementioned "unhappiness" was referring to my daughter witnessing & reporting her co-teacher physically spank an 18 month old, male student. FYI !! Nothing was done & that monster is still employed & caring for children at that location! Another example of her "unhappiness" was when my daughter had to perform the Heimlich on a 13 month old baby who had turned purple. When she reported the incident to the director she was told "well, the child is fine so there's no need to inform the parent." Subsequently, The only reason the parent was informed was because my daughter insisted... which ultimately led to her demise. I cannot fathom this happening to my child or grandchild & never being informed. This place treats their employees terribly, the turnover rate is extremely high, & teacher/child ratios laws are violated daily. This establishment is run by money-hungry scavengers who don't put the children first and treat dedicated employees like second-class citizens. Employees and children are dispensable. After months and months of unbelievable stories, I told her to get out of that toxic environment before something horrible happened that was out of her control & the Play School at Legacy blamed her. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO THE PLAYSCHOOL - COMPLETE LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM AND CARE After five years of loyalty to The Playschool, I am beyond frustrated and appalled at the complete lack of professionalism, consistency, and care they now provide. What was once a place I trusted has deteriorated into an absolute disaster--constant turnover of unqualified staff, blatant disregard for reasonable safety requests, and policies that prioritize their convenience over the well-being of the children. The staffing situation is an absolute joke. New, untrained, and completely unqualified people are constantly cycled in and out, leaving the children confused and without proper care. The incompetence at the administrative level is staggering--they don't seem to care about the disruption this causes, nor do they make any effort to improve. I have voiced my concerns repeatedly, only to be ignored or met with dismissive responses. On top of that, they refuse to accommodate even the most basic safety and care requests. Instead of working with parents, they push rigid, nonsensical policies that make life harder for families and put children at risk. They recently changed the drop-off system in a way that makes it clear their only concern is their staffing issues, NOT what's best for the kids. It's chaotic, inconvenient, and completely unnecessary. As if that weren't enough, they also decided to remove the morning snack, leaving a huge gap between breakfast and lunch. This is completely unacceptable. Growing children need regular nourishment, and their decision to eliminate this basic necessity is not just inconsiderate--it's outright neglectful. And just wait--the owner will probably respond to this review with some gaslighting comment about how they "value feedback" or how I must be "misunderstanding" their policies. Let me be clear: I have been here for five years. I have seen firsthand how this place has gone downhill, and no amount of damage control in the comments will change that. I have stood by this place for too long, but enough is enough. The Playschool has gone from a trusted institution to a careless, unprofessional mess that is failing the children it claims to care for. If you are considering enrolling your child here, DON'T. Look elsewhere for a daycare that actually values your child's well-being instead of treating them like an afterthought. Addendum: I would also like to address an issue regarding my simple request about the involvement of a male teacher in my daughter's toddler class. I was informed that this teacher, whom I had never met and knew nothing about, would have access to change my daughter's diaper and assist with bathroom needs. I respectfully asked if only female staff could assist in these matters, as this is a very reasonable concern for many mothers, and one that I feel warrants consideration. Unfortunately, my request was not accommodated, and instead of finding a solution, I was told that I could submit my two-week notice. My son has been in this daycare since more than an year now. We are really thankful for all his teachers and especially Ms Amulya. She has shown so much kindness, patience, and dedication. She really takes the time to understand and care for him in a way that makes him feel safe and included, helping him through potty training and encouraging him when he needs a little extra confidence. Warning: Do NOT Send Your Children to The Play School at Legacy in Carmel! As a concerned parent, I feel it is important to share my experience. Several families, including mine, have encountered serious issues with the owners, staff, operating procedures, and the facility- posing an alarming safety threat to all the children in their care. Unfortunately, we have first hand witnessed the downward spiral of this business and daycare, most alarmingly over the last 2 years. We have been promised changes and fixes only to discover these same concerns continue to arise as the "fix" promised is not permanent.     *    Safety Concerns: The front desk staff is rarely actually present at the desk during busy hours and high traffic times. This is alarming because there is not a "double lock" door system and it is very easy for someone to walk in behind someone without having granted access. This poses a major safety threat to the children. My son ran out of the facility and down the sidewalk, unfortunately as previously mentioned, there was no administrative staff present at the front desk to witness this nor did his teachers notice he was missing until I returned him to the play area.     *    Misinformation about Food: The owners submit a menu to the state licensing and health departments in accordance with the state guidelines for proper nutrition however, more often than not, the children are not served what they have submitted to the state. The meals are heavy in high sugar and carb foods. They rarely serve a complete protein source with the meal aside from the milk. On top of that, children have been given expired snacks.     *    Inappropriate Behavior: One of their employees was reported for spanking a child.  This is completely unbelievable and unacceptable.    *    Medical and Safety Concerns: There have been reports of children choking due to food being improperly prepared and served to children who are too young to properly eat the food. There have also been reports of a staff member serving a child with a peanut allergy the staff member's own food from home which contained peanut and caused this child to have a life threatening allergic reaction. The staff are not adequately trained in CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, or epipen administration.     *    Violation of State Regulations: State standard child-to-teacher ratios are frequently violated. There is frequently a higher child to teacher ratio than legally allowed by the state. When questioned about this, it is often a band aid fix and resumes to inadequate ratios a short time after the "fix". This is most alarming in the infant room where there are strict ratios and guidelines, only one child is to sleep in one crib per day. From my own personal experience, there was another child sleeping in my child's crib during the same day thus they were allowing crib sharing- an alarming and direct violation of state regulations. The center was specifically cited by state for having 25 infants at the facility during inspection and only 24 cribs available this also making the infant to staff ratio higher than legally allowed.     *    Unvetted Staff: Some employees are not put through a background-check, fingerprinted, or drug-screened until several months after they start working with children, which is a huge red flag when it comes to child safety. I strongly urge any parent considering this daycare to look elsewhere. Your child's safety and well-being should always come first. Our daughter has been at The Play School at Legacy for 3 years now. She started as an infant. We are so very blessed to have this facility in our community and in our lives personally. Our daughter thrives there with their curriculum and the teachers she has had through the years have been wonderful in her growth academically and socially. Every once in a while I hear about some behind the scenes drama with turnover and leadership choices BUT this happens at any and every business and it does not affect my daughters experience there. I cannot reiterate enough how great this school is. That's what it is, a school. They don't watch movies and color all day. They follow a routine each day that includes tons of learning and physical activities, music and dance classes even! They use an app for the parents that is updated with pictures throughout the day, milestones and food eaten. It is all homemade and diverse. And they are more than accommodating when it comes to allergies, sensitivities and parents choices when it comes to what they will be served. Our son has attended The Playschool at Legacy since he was three months old. He is now 2. A few weeks ago the school had a huge covid outbreak. When we questioned the owner on their cleaning practices and doing more than the status quo, she replied via a text in the Brightwheel app that our son was no longer welcome. We set aside our pride and begged them to let us stay for his sake and to this day they have not responded to any of our messages. You can see from other reviews, this is standard practice for them. The replies that this happened under previous ownership are untrue as I had a chance to connect with some families this has happened to and the same person who kicked them out, kicked us out. This is a family owned business and ownership has not changed. To make matters worse, there have been instances in which the owner has made comments to people about kicking out the "nasty parents". This is a toxic environment for parents and children. You cannot voice concerns without the risk of removal. I have screenshots of all messages just in case they try to say this is not true and I am happy to share them. The owners ego is more important than the well being of the children. Having said all of this, the teachers and other staff are wonderful. It is sad that the ownership casts a dark shadow over these great people. read more

We had a big transition from home to daycare and they made it so easy on us, not to mention we have the playschool to thank for basically potty training him. Our son had been at Legacy since he was 3 months old. He is now 2. Recently the school had an abundance of teachers and students test positive for Covid. My wife and I both inquired about specific actions they were taking to stop or even slow down, spread. After multiple company standard answers and more positive tests, I sent a stern, yet professional and respectable note to the director & asked that they share with the owner, that expressed the frustration we were feeling as parents on gaining more insight into the steps they were taking. Mind you, we were paying them to keep our son home that week because multiple children in his class had tested positive for Covid and that combined with the administrators unwillingness to share as well as put into action further steps, to slow the spread, was leading to great deal of frustration. The message was meant to initiate a positive & respectable conversation and allow them to not only further inform us as parents, but also provide us with a sense of comfort in knowing the school was going above and beyond to care for the children that attend their school beyond the teachers cleaning their rooms at the end of a long day. The next (and only) message we received after this was nothing short of shocking, from a professional standpoint, especially coming from one of the owners of the company. In short, instead of setting a time to speak where they could further clarify, the owner told us that our 2 year-old was no longer allowed to attend their school from that day moving forward. After receiving the message, my wife and I (swallowing our pride, because we knew what we were asking, was not out of line) apologized if the message was taken out of context and begged for them not to remove our son from the friends he had grown up with. Neither of our messages were returned. Furthermore, my wife left a voice-mail, crying, and no one, from the school nor the owners, had the common decency or professionalism, to return her call. As upsetting as this was to my wife and I, we were more upset about what would've happen if it was a child whose parents had similar asks and was told their child was no longer welcomed to go to school with the friends he essentially had grown up with and that same parent could not afford to go to another daycare. My wife and I were very lucky to get our son into another daycare, though it will cost more. We were very grateful and lucky, as most daycares in our area had anywhere from a 4-6 month wait list, some more. ​To tie it all together, the following week, Legacy had a conference for their staff on one of the Holidays they were closed. During that meeting, we were informed by multiple staff members, that the owner said something the effect of "we make sure to get rid of the nasty parents." So, in the eyes of the owner(s), "Nasty Parents" are those who actually have the gull to question the the schools methods and want further clarification. We have spoken to several other daycares and administrators at other schools, along with several other parents and they all expressed a sense of shock and anger over this treatment. For us, it was never what they were doing to us. This was a punishment to our 2 year old child, and to any parent, that's unacceptable, as is the professionalism this daycare exhibited. We want to make one thing clear, as was noted in the message we sent to the school, this IS NOT a detriment towards the teachers and staff. Rather, this is towards the administrators & owners who seemingly do not want to be questioned or provide a sense of comfort to worried parents. We were dispapointed to find the owners of the Play School unwilling to work with parents and families. When asked about the food they were giving to infants (Lucky Charms), the owner screamed at me that I was offending her family by questioning the menu selections. The teachers in our older child's class were very negative, one called the toddlers evil in front of the children. During pick up all we would hear were complaints and negative feedback from the teachers (similar sentiments were echoed by other parents). When we asked if they could relay that message in a different way, as we felt it was negatively impacting our child, the teachers happily agreed. However, the owner told us we were being difficult and didn't support their program and kicked us out. When the conversation was pursued further, she went on to say it was really because she was still mad that we had insulted them by questioning why they were feeding Lucky Charms to our infant. The owner is extremely volitaile and irrational. She refused to return any phone calls or meet with us to discuss the matter. It was the most unprofessional expereince I have ever had. The teacher turnover is extremely high. Our child had 4 different teachers in 6 months. The indoor gym and sensory room are very cool and the kids enjoy using that space. read more

We were very disappointed with our time at The Play School at Legacy. The daycare consistently was understaffed and a reoccurring issue was that there were not enough teachers in the mornings during drop off to support the number of babies. The admin continued to provide excuse after excuse, and eventually said "I know you are looking for a clear cut remedy but I can't provide that for you. All I can say is that we are trying our best." This was completely unacceptable to me. It's a revolving door of teachers and I never knew who was taking care of my baby. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with this daycare. read more

Terrible place - snobbish, clickish, and completely and utterly unwelcoming if you are not part of the cool, white, preppy crowd from the area. They have teachers testing positive for Covid - who knows what they do, how careful they've been, or what their social habits are - but the fact of the matter is that they expect parents to PAY THE FULL TUITION even though the school is forcing the students' in those teachers' classrooms to STAY HOME. Why is it the parents' responsibility to 1) find alternate childcare, and 2) pay the extra expense of an additional child care alternative? My advice is, unless you want your child to spend those precious formative years in a bubble of overly-edulcorated and unwelcoming-to-those-from-different-backgrounds, find another place. There are many competent, compassionate, and professional childcare facilities in the area. read more

This has the potential to be a very long review ;) I'll start by saying we have had our 3.5 year old there since she was 8 weeks and our 9.5 month old there since he was 9 weeks. There are a core group of teachers who have been there the whole time. Which is impressive! And employee retention is SO important. Yes there is a lot of turnover in the daycare industry but I feel it should be one of the goals of any childcare facility to retain their staff. The staff that takes care of our children. SO IMPORTANT. I was a former nanny of 8 years for the same family and I stayed so long bc they took care of me, made me feel like family, and created a positive work environment. That should be the goal! That being said I have only had a few issues in the 3.5 years we have been there and those few issues were remedied. My advice: if you see something, say something. They have a great facility with an indoor gym, sensory room and are now adding on with more improvements. We send all three of our children to this daycare. I really appreciate being able to get individualized reports on how each of my children are doing throughout the day from their teachers. I can tell how much the teachers care and love the children in their classrooms and that makes me feel really good about dropping my children off there. The directors are always very responsive to my questions and take care of my concerns. Some examples of the exceptional care the teachers provide include: I have a three-year-old that we are working on having good listening ears, so the teachers are going to continue using the 123 magic methods that we practice at home and bring it in the classroom with our son. Our daughter's teacher Knows that we don't always get a chance to style her hair before getting her dropped off to school so she often will put her hair in cute pigtails for the day. I am a 4's teacher at The Play School and my son is in the infant room there! I love this school so much, it truly is my family's second home. Every person that I work with is so kind and always willing to help out or offer advice. The owners are all extremely accommodating and I can tell they really value their employees. I honestly love coming to work every day. My 8 month old son also loves coming to daycare every day. His teachers take such great care of him, he's always smiling when I peek my head in his room. And even though I'm in the building, his teachers still send pictures on the daycare app all day! They always have him doing tummy time and I can be at ease knowing that they are working towards his physical development even at daycare. read more

It's been a long journey and I'm grateful for everything this place had done for us and helped us through a lot of stuff. she loved her classrooms and all her teachers. There are a few that will be really tough to say goodbye. And she has friends in her class that had been with her since infant. I think overall, she has a pretty decent childhood memory here at the Legacy. I think the only complain I have is the food. They're definitely not what they called it "homemade garment" food. She hardly eats anything there other than snacks. So now she's got the horrible habit of wanting to snack all the time. read more

I cannot express my appreciation enough for The Play School at Legacy as well as a previous location at Stoney Creek. We have been with them for over 8 years and they have been great the whole time. As jobs have changed for my husband and myself they have been very flexible with our daycare needs and were always able to work with us on whatever we needed. The summer kids club is great and my kids look forward to attending every year. Mr. Brad, in the big kids class, is wonderful and my kids enjoyed having him as their teacher at both locations they attended. We have always felt that her teachers genuinely care about her, know her personality well, and my daughter enjoys going to school. My family is very satisfied at how her teachers keep us updated throughout the day with pictures, notifications on how much she eats, and a weekly academic schedule/plan. Directors also keep families updated on activities/programs that are taking place, and if there have been an illness in my daughter's classroom. The Play School at Legacy is a wonderful daycare with caring teachers and staff across the school. My daughter has attended since she was 2 and my son since he was 12 weeks old. I know that whomever is instructing them during the day(even if it may not be their full time teacher), they are cared for emotionally, physically and mentally. Everyone is so excited about the new addition being built at the school. My children have learned so much with their curriculum and I fully believe that the 5's teachers more than prepared my daughter for Kindergarten - Ms. Anastasia & Ms. Rosi are truly the cream of the crop! Ms. Brooklyn & Ms. Kara are dedicated directors who are always available for questions, concerns or just a brief chat! While teachers may come & go over the years, Rita, Katie and Amanda really do pour their hearts into creating a nurturing environment for children. My almost 2-year-old son has been attending the Play School at Legacy since he was 10 weeks old. I was beyond apprehensive about putting my son into daycare because we were fortunate to not have to do that with our 2 older children. I was finalizing options for an in home daycare through a family from our church, when I decided to take a chance and just tour the Legacy facility. I showed up unannounced and asked for a tour, which is not common protocol. I knew that their willingness to provide me with an unexpected tour of their facility meant that they were okay with me seeing everything in action, as it actually happens every day. I began to feel comfortable just in the beginning of the tour, seeing the different infant rooms and watching the teachers and babies in action. I knew that my son would be one of the youngest babies there, which was no issue for them at all. By the end of the tour I knew that I had a big choice to make- the in home daycare option that I was familiar with or take a chance on the Play School family. 2 years later, I continue to be so thankful that I chose for my son to attend the Play Schools. He has grown immensely; I am constantly surprised by the curriculum and planning that goes into just a 2 year old classroom. He has learned more at this age than my older 2 children had combined, and he has had some of the coolest experiences as part of his learning program. Their facility is extremely nice, the indoor playground is a huge hit and the water and sand room is very cool. The classrooms are set up nicely and are appropriate for each of the age groups that they serve. The outdoor space is also very cool, with a ton of different activities and opportunities for the kids to learn and explore. I have had a few different occasions where I have needed some guidance on my son's learning or his milestones or even his behavior in class and each time, I have been promptly provided support and advice by the owners and/or the management team at the facility. Most importantly, my son clearly feels loved there. He is always happy to be at "school" and he is even excited to explain his day to me when I pick him up. I have showed up unexpectedly at different hours to get him and each of those times, he is actively involved in whatever part of the curriculum has been reported on their app. I receive pictures and updates online all day long and can call at any time for any reason. I am not one to typically write reviews, but I know what an important decision it is to hand your children over to someone else to help them grow and develop. My son went to the play school as a baby and we loved it. We moved out of town but returned recently and now my daughter is attending. She has been there almost a year and is thriving. Her speech took off once she was exposed to the great lesson plans and teachers. The staff is wonderful and the owners genuinely care very much about the safety and care of the children. My 18 month old son has gone to the playschool since he was 6 months old and I LOVE IT...so does he. He is always happy and smiling when we pull up and can't wait to play with his teachers and friends. They had so many activities for him to do so he is never bored like he would be with me at home. They play in the sensory room with a large water table, have an amazing indoor gym, great outdoor space, do yoga, learn Spanish, have a man come in to play piano and guitar for the children, do arts and crafts, read, and play games. They have amazing communication with my husband and I through their app during the day with pictures and updates as well as an online payment system which I love. I can tell the staff really love my son and he loves them. The helped to ween him off the bottle and the pacifier better than I could. They also do extra things like have Mother's Day and Father's Day events. They had a day with Santa as well with arts and crafts for the kids and free time with Santa! You can also do part time daycare if that works best for your schedule. They have holiday parties and a set curriculum and do developmental testing to make sure my son is on track. Lastly they don't close when the local schools close or because of weather which is amazing so I didn't have to take time off of work! Overall my family loves the Playschool and would recommend it 10/10 to everyone we meet! read more
