He encourages the patient's treatment plan and checks in on the progress of medications that may have been prescribed by the patient's PCP or Psychiatrist. His website has a ton of useful resources and information too. What I've liked the most is he really hears what the patient is saying, what concerns they have, shares in successes, and is an advocate for the patient. Also, his treatment/therapy style is always backed by true science which is important for success in therapy. I highly recommend Dr. Carey for any mental health difficulty. He encouraged me to go back and I was able to put all my energy and thoughts in school. After almost 2 years my GPA was still standing at a 3.9. He really helped me stay on track and helped me deal with all the noise in my head. He helped me accomplish one of my biggest goals which was to go back to college.

To my knowledge, her office is still "Open for Business" in the location/address located in Manteca, California & listed here on this Yelp Business listing. I select the telephone as it's a notable distance from my residence when traveling. I'm still working on myself to be the best thing I can be and with Kristin's tutelage & education, it's always working & a work-in-progress; I'm totally good with that & with the strides I continue to make in my thinking and feeling which is a huge aspect to any living creature. Kristin has ALWAYS been there for me during CRITICAL EMOTIONAL/PHYSIOLOGICALLY uncomfortable times. These acts of morality & kindness have saved my existence. On a medication side-note some changes to my medications from my Psychiatrist also interest Kristin as she and my Psychiatrist of 5+ years & counting, Dr. Zainab Al-Dhaher (REMOTE ZOOM appointments available currently) work together professionally to keep me in tip-top client condition. Kristin has told me, more than once, to refresh my memory, that certain parts of the "Diagnosed Psychiatric Psychosis", wasn't convinced and/or certain that is what I actually had. At one point, my diagnosis from Dr. Al-Dhaher included the words "IN REMISSION" next to the BiPolar Type 1, and I became afraid and exhilarated at the same time because I was unaware that "remission" was possible for the BiPolar Type 1 diagnosis. Either way, Kristin has a holistic approach to my treatment and is VERY HANDS ON as is Al-Dhaher (called fondly "Dr.A" by Kristin). I don't know what I'd do without both of them. I was considering a move to Vermont; Wallingford, Vermont U.S.A. but I don't believe I'll be able to locate the correct Psychotherapist that Kristin is all about and the same goes for my lifesaver Al-Dhaher. (She, Dr. Al-Dhaher is a WIZARD! with psychotropic meds & some supplements OTC and prescribed a vitamin; Vitamin B6 100Mg tabs daily with a daily dose of 800 currently, does a miraculous job at managing the Tardive Dyskinesia Symptoms!) (uncontrollable bodily movements including Nystagamus, and herky-jerky bodily movements) (unsure of spelling and not near a dictionary; sincere apologies). Kristin has always been 100% Supportive with me and my mental-health, including supporting my CHOICE to take daily prescribed (Rx.) therapeutics by my amazingly competent psychiatrist Dr. Zainab Al-Dhaher @Community Psychiatry. (She has more than 1 office location.) Lithium Carbonate ER (Extended Release) has been a GOD-SEND to my life and my relationships & LEXAPRO (used in the ethical treatment of Depression & ANXIETY) have saved my life without weight-gain & given me INSIGHT & CLARITY into my future where I once was hopeless. There's a ton more to describe regarding this psychotherapic/psychiatric journey but space is limited. I stand-behind both of my psychiatric treatment team members and their ACCURACY in helping me lead an awesome yet humorous life. I've learned that A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOR is a must when treating BiPolar Type 1. It took me a few years to truly digest & absorb that lived experience but now that I have, I see clearly, the path ahead-of-me. My NAMI friend Marnye (no confidential breech) is a believer in the humor advice as well and you know what? Lastly, My Mother is a self-less being in so many healthful ways. So much so that I asked her way back in the beginning of our in-person appointments with Dr. Al-Daher to please accompany me to each and every appointment as often as possible. I started working with Pamela in late October 2023 after spending months of trying to figure out…read morewhy I was so unhappy and feeling a lot of anxiety all the time. I'd done therapy before and while that helped for a while, it always felt like I wasn't getting into the core reasons why I was feeling the way I was feeling. I always felt like I was putting bandages on some deep wounds that I struggled to heal from. Connecting with Pamela would change that. Going into the consultation, I wasn't really sure what to expect but coming out of it, I had a feeling that I was making the right move. Do you ever meet someone and you feel like they just "get" you? That's what the consultation with her felt like. Over the past few months, I've been given a lot of opportunities to search inwards while working with Pamela. She asks a lot of hard hitting questions that are designed to make you feel into your emotions rather than intellectualizing them. Because I know I'm prone to overthinking through my emotions rather than feeling into them and working through them that way, Pamela's approach works well for me. It both challenges me and teaches me that I don't have to be afraid of my own emotions, that I can create a safe space for myself even if no one else will. Lately, I've been feeling much more at peace with myself. I've learned to slow down. I've learned to associate the "negative" feelings as messages from my body. I feel more in tune with myself and even when I become frazzled and feel that anxiety creep back up, I'm able to bring myself back down to stability. What's interesting is with each subsequent session, I'm able to recover myself quicker no matter what situation I'm in. With all that said, I highly recommend giving The Healing Dynamic a try.
