Hope Library may seem like a small rural library without much to offer from the outside, but once you step in you will realize this is a 2 level library complete with a community room and a full calendar of events.
I have been a patron of the Hope Library all of my life. From renting videos and attending story hour, to taking home piles and piles of books after our satruday trek there. Hope Library hold a place in my heart.
Much like me the director had been a patron of the library before becoming the Children's Librarian and then Director. If you look at the calendar for the library almost every day there is at least one activity or event happening from story hour to fan clubs to crafting courses. THe library also provides online resources both at the library and via their website.
One standout point in that Hope Library does not charge fines on their books, if over due. They simply ask that in lieu of a mandatory fine, you make a donation at your discretion. to the box on the circulation desk. The library does charge fines on all audio/visual materials, such as dvds, videos, cds, audiobooks and children's audio kits. Fines on these materials are $1.00 per day. Hope Library also offers access to books for ereaders.
I would say check out one of the many programs, and support the fundraisers. They are a small library that relies on funding from many different places and community support is a big part of that. read more
