My trip to the eye doctor today was such a good experience, I had to write a review. Since my last visit to Hopes Vision, they have expanded their office. It's a great waiting room and everyone was cheerful and pleasant. They seem to be on the cutting edge with equipment too. I'm one of the worst patients because my eyes don't like being messed with. However, Dr. Hope was able to (somehow) look under my eyelid. A scratched eyeball isn't fun, I can tell you that ---- but if you need emergency care, new glasses, an exam, etc .... this is the place to go. I'm not quick to hand out 5 stars, but when I experience service like this --- I want people to know about it. read more

Everyone in this office is amazing! They treat you like a friend and make you feel comfortable. They have the newest technology...I hate having my eyes dilated & they offer retinal exams without dilation using Optomap! I love that they provide appointments on Saturday's. I went there for an eye exam today because I was having some trouble with my eyes clouding up and feeling like something was in them when I am on the computer. I got tested and they gave me drops for my eyes and then they wanted to do more tests for a couple hundred dollars. They also told me I need glasses but my readers work fine, when I went to check out, they told me I really needed to get glasses which there's cost 600 dollars, I said "Too Expensive". I was told if I did not get glasses the Dr. would report me to the Division of Motor Vehicles because my eyesight was so bad, I should not be on the road!!! My readers work fine plus, I have no problem seeing to drive, something smells fishy to me, you don't buy glasses there, they will report you!! Never going back there again!!! So pissed offf!!!!!!!! Most unprofessional doctor I encountered in my life. Not only do they act like it is above them for management to call you back when you have a problem but Dr Hope himself speaks poorly of his peers. I couldn't believe the content that came out of his mouth and the blaim he placed on a local, well respected doctor. He actually got in a screaming match with me when I tried to discuss a reoccuring, well documented problem. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER will I go back!!! Between the doctor and his trophy wife, the office manager who is NEVER available, and their fancy showroom it's obviously all about the money and not about the patient. read more

I wish I would have read the other reviews before going here. I believe they charged much more than what I would have paid if I went elsewhere. I have VSP insurance, which is the best. It is supposed to save you a ton of money. I ended up paying still $419 for a pair of glasses and an eye exam. On top of that, I ended up waiting 21 days for my glasses to be fulfilled when they tell you it is 14 days but usually takes a week. A friend who also went there said she did not believe they ordered her glasses till she called to check on it. I felt the same way. At 14 days I called and was given the frame delay excuse. The eye doctor was not friendly at all. I brought my child w/me and most doctors or people will acknowledge the child, engage them. He didn't even look at her. I thought it was odd. Must not be a fan of children. Anyways, he just seemed cold, with no bedside manner. His staff for the most part were very friendly, but when I walked in to pick up my glasses I was waiting in line at the information desk while it took about 5 minutes for the information person to help some elderly lady sign in for a flu shot. There were 5 other employees who were working at the main front desk and adjustment area that could have helped me, but they were too busy w/their own personal discussions. Nobody was in there and they were not helping anyone. Why in the world would you make someone stand in line for 5 minutes while they stand around and do nothing. I would take the advice of other reviewers and head to the big box store like Costco or Sam's. You will pay a quarter of the price as my husband did and keep your money in your pocket, and have better customer service. read more

The short version: DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T GO THERE! I needed new safety glasses for work. Hope's Vision was one of their providers so that's where I went. It was horrible from beginning to end. First, they had only about ten frame styles to pick from. And they didn't even have the side shields that come with the frames, so I had to make my best guess as to which ones would be best. Then, they said the glasses would be ready in 7 to 10 days. When 10 days passed without a word from them, I called. They said the glasses would be late coming in because the lab they used is in Indiana and they'd had a blizzard there. OK, number 1, you're in Lancaster County, PA, and you ship your orders halfway across the country? I have a little trouble believing you couldn't use somewhere closer. Oh, and my mom lives in Indiana, and they never had a blizzard there during that time--they had one snow of 6 inches. So bullshit all around. Finally, after 3 weeks, they called on a Friday to say the glasses were ready. I knew from their website and having seen it on their door that they were open Saturdays. So Saturday I was up bright and early, went to their store...and it was closed. I called their number, and it turns out they're open EVERY OTHER Saturday! Nice of them to not tell anyone that little piece of data! So I had to wait till Monday, 3 and a half weeks from when I bought the glasses! I don't know how this place ever makes any money. They are the most unhelpful, uninterested in serving their customers, uncommunicative, pathetic place I've ever been. Unless you want to wait forever to get your glasses and get piss-poor service along the way, STAY AWAY FROM HOPE'S VISION! read more

Sadly, it got to point where I had no choice but report them to the BBB. If you desire to work with courteous and competent professionals, go elsewhere. FYI- Costco has great rates on exams and prescriptions/ contacts. Here is why I have this opinion... On May 9th, I ordered $599.92 worth contacts with Hope's Vision with understanding that I would receive a $100 rebate with manufacturer via a phone call with customer service agent at Hope's Vision. I received my receipt and the information regarding the rebate in the mail on May 11th and noticed that the rebate was for only $25 so I promptly contacted Hope's Vision and cancelled my order prior to ever receiving them. At that time, I also requested a copy of my prescription mailed to me. It should be noted that I still have yet to receive a copy of my prescription in the mail. On May 16th, I went into Hope's Vision to pick up a copy of my prescription which they claimed was "in the mail." I was then given the wrong prescription not once but at least 3 times that very day requiring me to personally visit Hope's Vision as well as call Hope's Vision several times from Costco and have Hope's Vision fax info to Costco several times in order to fill my correct prescription. I also confirmed that my refund was being processed accordingly both in person at Hope's Vision and then later on the phone that very day. Both times I was told my refund is being processed at once and I should see my refund within the "next week or so." It should be noted that I even provided Hope's Vision's receptionist with my credit card info over the phone once again as requested so that Cathy could promptly process the refund on May 16th as she forget that they did not have it on file and needed it to refund me. A week later, I began calling in attempt to connect with Cathy who processes the refunds as I seriously question if she started to process the refund. It should be noted that she has yet to call me back. Instead, I received a voice message from the office's receptionist stating that Cathy has processed my refund and that it should take two weeks to process on May 27th. Now, I seriously wonder if she has the correct information to properly process the refund or if she ever did it in the first place as it is June 14th and I still I have yet to be refunded my $599.92. In the past few days, I have attempted at least 3 times to get in touch with Cathy as I have been told she is the only one who can assist me in such a matter, and I am always told that she is either "not in" or "with a patient." Each time I have left a message requesting a return call and still I get no response and I have yet to be refunded. read more

Poor customer service. We had a problem because we accidentally used a charge card to pay for contacts rather than our HSA card. A simple reversal of the charge and recharge would have corrected the matter in minutes. The person working at the time would not do that. Since all this store sells is service, I would suggest using another vision care provider for you needs. Because of this experience, our family is taking its future purchased somewhere else. read more

Honestly I was not sure if I should give 2 or 3 starts. My first visit here I was not impressed. Glasses absolutely sucked. I had gone there because the place I did go stopped taking my insurance. I tried another place and they were even worse. Limited by my insurance I went there a second time after finding a worse place, and this time hats off to the doctor. I had just started wearing progressive lenses, but had major problems on my first try, so not sure what he did but they worked great. No tunnel vision, absolutely great. The only down fall was when I was picking out frames they pushed me towards the frame they had brought in for another customer. The frame was not good. If you expect fast service, I highly recommend avoiding this establishment. DO NOT allow this facility to order contacts, or anything, for you. After being promised my contacts within a week of my visit, it took me 2 1/2 weeks and daily phone calls, multiple times per day, before they finally arrived. I dealt with the same office rep throughout the first 2 weeks and she made no obvious efforts to expedite my order. After finally speaking to the doctor, I magically received my contacts within 3 days of our conversation. They constantly blamed the delay of my order on their distributor, and even had their representative call me; however, the fact that they give their business to a distributor with such poor customer service does not do much for their reputation. I could've ordered contacts online and had them at my door within 3 days....why on earth is a doctor's office unable to provide the same, or better service???? read more
