The Staff and Dr.s are all really friendly and professional. I have been going to Premier Eye care for years at the Tuscarora St. Office in the Shipoke area of Harrisburg. I was scheduled here to see Dr. Brent for Cataracts. After several appts. And consultations as well as having them removed I must say everything from start to finish was done very professionally. Especially since it takes co-ordination between the two offices to set up appointments as well as the operating procedures. In reading through the reviews, I have to say my experience was quite positive. My last year's experience with my previous eye group became intolerable (I had to leave after waiting over an hour and to date, no one has called me back to reschedule). At Premier, I had Dr J.E.B. and found him to be patient and sincere when addressing my eye care. One thing I found interesting is the steps of the process (checking in, determining current vision measures, seeing the optometrist, etc) are all done separately. In this way, things move along, but I can see when one area could be backed up. However, I have not yet experienced this to occur. I have found the staff to be professionals and positive. Additionally, at the Hartzdale Dr location, there is ample parking with easy access to the front door. read more

I switched to this eye doctor office from MyEyeDr in Carlisle. What I experienced at MyEyreDr could be considered abuse compared to the treatment I experienced at Premier Eye. The front desk staff was caring and friendly, the eye doctor (I saw Dr Zimmerman) listened to questions and even retested my vision when I expressed concern that a medical issue had impacted the results my previous visit and did not charge me for a second eye exam. The computer system seems to be down a lot (perhaps an issue they should investigate) but overall I am very happy and plan to continue seeking care from them. read more

We have entrusted our vision care needs to Dr. Stegura and Dr. Brent for over two decades. My wife and I have had multiple surgeries and everything has gone incredibly well. The prep staff at the Hartzdale location do their jobs very well. My only gripe - and it needs attention - is poor communications by administrative staff. Things happen - emergencies that take priority - that disrupt the flow of scheduled appointments, BUT, the staff needs to inform and communicate to waiting patients there will be delays and offer rescheduling. A waiting post-op patient should not sit in the waiting room for 70 minutes after checking in and 55 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, and then have to return to the counter to ask what is going on, to be informed of an near hour long back up. That's bad office management. Communicate, communicate, communicate. That said, it was one time, and forgiveness is better than holding ill feeling. The Shipoke staff, on the other hand, is EPIC. I may choose to go to this office from now on. BOTTOM LINE: I was the best, most highly experienced doctors working on my eyes, and that's what we have with Dr. Stegura and Dr. Brent. We will look past the office management challenges. read more

After being a patient for 20+ years I left Premier due to front desk rudeness and office manager incompetence. Front desk insisted that I needed to pay for a follow-up visit. (The person did not handle herself well. She was very condescending and laughed at me.) After working for the insurance industry for many years I knew this was wrong. I escalated my concern to the office manager who was kind, but, also insisted I had to pay for the visit. I paid the bill and told them I would never be back. About two months later I received a refund check in the mail with absolutely no explanation. I always had good care from the doctor and medical staff, but, will never go back to being treated so rudely by business staff. People always remember how you make them feel and they made me feel awful that day. read more

I've been going to this eye care group for over 30 years. My last visit I told the assistant we are not going to dilate my pupils with those drops to do that test. Apparently in this office no means yes! They did what I told them they did not have permission to do! I did research and found out there has been a modern way to do this that doesn't involve the drops. This group does not want to invest in their practice. I do not recommend anyone to go to Premier Eye Care. (no means no!) read more

GREAT selection of designer frames! Longchamps! Maui Jims! European and Caribbean eyewear. Staff was friendly, patient, and gave good advice for the frames I was choosing. My appointment was running on schedule, I was seen on time, everyone was friendly, and I had my prescription to buy new glasses at the optical shop right away. TERRIBLE SELECTION OF GLASSES. BARELY HAD ANY BRANDS POOR SELECTION. OVERPRICED BRANDS I NEVER HEARD OF FOR $200. NO Prada, NO GUCCI, NO HUGO, NO BURBERRY, NO KENNETH COLE, they did have Ray Ban. Anyway I showed up at my appointment Michelle told me that I saw another doctor and that I would have to pay out of pocket. Which I never saw an eye doctor my wife did. Then Michelle​ told me she spoke to my wife and she told my wife that she needed to get my authorization released. Then Michelle's story changed again now she said that she spoke to me and told me that I needed to have my authorization released. I said I was called and asked to confirm my appointment after my wife cancelled her appointment. Which I did confirm my appointment. I was sent to 2 text messages reminding me of my appointment. I received a phone call to confirm my appointment. No mention that I needed to get my authorization released. Michelle's story changed multiple times throughout the encounter. The best customer treatment was when she told me I was lying that she spoke to my wife and she remembered speaking with her last week. Michelle was so sure that she spoke to my wife she said she remembered the conversation. Office manager Gloria came out and Michelle said she spoke to my wife & then she read her notes in the computer and the computer says spoke to patient! This is where it gets funny Michelle's story changes again that's right she insisted she spoke to me and she told me it. She remembered now! REALLY? INSTEAD OF JUST APOLOGIZING AND SAYING SHE MADE A MISTAKE SHE KEPT RIGHT ON INSISTING SHE I SPOKE TO ME. She kept right on arguing with me saying that she spoke to me and that I should have known. Michelle & Gloria were very rude and snobbish trying to make me feel as though I was the one that made the mistake. In the end they looked rude and like jerks to waiting room of patients. When it was finally blatantly obvious that they were the ones that made the mistake and realized I was only standing there typing a review they gave me a terrible apology. Thanks for wasting time better yet thanks for being yourselves. You showed me why I will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH PREMIER EYE EVER AGAIN! MY WIFE WENT TO VISIONWORKS HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE GO THERE 4X THE SELECTION OF GLASSES. GOOD THING I WALKED OVER LOOKED AT THEIR GLASSES TINY SELECTION OF GLASSES. I was soooo relieved when I finally made the decision to switch to another practice. Office staff is incredibly rude, the drs are robots - and appointments take forever. You simply move from one waiting room to the next. I love the place we switched to - and so thankful I finally did it. No longer have to dread a visit to the eye doctor. read more
