Both refreshing and full bodied. The venue had a lot of indoor and outdoor seating which makes for a fun social time for friends and families. The day I stopped in the boxcars which house the eateries at the same location, were closed. Still able to peruse the menus they had posted. They offer many different flavors and types of dishes from Indian, Thai, and all American. I'm heading back on Saturday for lunch when they'll be open for business. I'll update once I've stopped in.

It is suitable for crowds. Of course, the old silos were built for grain storage in the late 40's time frame and now have been turned into a community hub of restaurants, bars, live music, outdoor dining via numerous vendors, fire pits and large screen tv's with even a rail car venue in a very eclectic and hip, urban setting. We were eating at one of the associated restaurants, Inky's, and they allow us to go to Silos Brewing and grab a beer to bring back for the meal. Very cool since Inky's sells draft, but just not this craft Silos draft. I really liked the cooperative and laid back approach by both establishments, including that Silos Brewing let me carry the glass over and not just a plastic cup. They will get it back. My choice was the "Smoke on the Lager" which is, of course, a lager base with smoky hints that went well with my Authentic Philly Cheesesteak sandwich. As their website says, "our backyard is your playground," and I bet on a warm spring or summer evening (rather than a rainy, winter Thursday), this place would be excellent fun. "A place to share stories over a pint, challenge friends to a casual game, or bask in the laid-back vibes of our beer garden." I get that from this establishment and will definitely be back to partake of this hospitality. From what I have seen, despite the less than ideal weather, this is a definite road worthy destination spot even from Greenville or Clemson.

You turn onto Sloane Ave. from College Blvd., just across from the back entrance/valet of the Shepherd Hotel. It's a small bar and, of course, a dive with lots of graffiti. They are usually open until 7 PM. It's not your late-night college bar, although a bunch of college regulars will also flock to the place. They have a pool table. You also can play your music all day/evening long! Classic Rock is the vibe, though. Two drafts on tap. Nati Light and Narragansett Lager. Draft for a dollar and a pitcher for seven bucks! Yes, I typed that right! Besides, most domestic beers are available for about three bucks each. All are served with a koozie. All you can get is only popcorn with your beer, but you can bring your pizza and have a good time with your friends. Hey, you got it! Jimmy, Beth, and Sydney are awesome behind the bar and make your day better! They will make you feel welcome and greet you by your name every time. One Sydney shared a great story, and I thought that was awesome! Sydney, a Political Science major at Clemson, told her Dad that she got a bartending job, and her Dad was not happy about that, and Then she said to him that she got that job at the "Sloane Street Tap Room," and her Dad was surprisingly silent! She nervously asked, "What, Dad?." Dad slowly answered, "I worked there too when I was at Clemson!." Wow!!! Congratulations, Sydney, you are not only a legacy student at Clemson, but you are also a legacy bartender too! How cool is that? Sloane Street Tap Room is different! Check it out!

It had a bacon jam which complemented the cheese, all while not detracting from the delicious beef. My table mate had the beef short ribs; tender, rich, and a good portion size. The potato salad side was tasty enough to make me wish for a larger scoop. Our two cocktails were top-shelf quality, although the Old Fashioned's cherry was an obliterated mush. The lacking star is due to the noise level once the live music kicked in. The inside seating is already a loud echo chamber of hard surfaces, but adding the near ear-splitting band out in the tent made all conversation impossible. I saw several tent tables clear out when the music started. I like live music, and the band was good. But half the decibels would have been more than enough. I think my ears are still ringing two days later. Service was good as our waitress barely kept up with the dinner crowd surge and a new and uncooperative POS system. Hopefully that will fall in line and give the staff a break! Looking forward to future offerings from their talented chef. Will definitely visit next time I'm in the area.
