But Autumn and May is right in the middle of the market. It doens't fit. It don't get it anyway. All swanky and polished and staff that aren't polite. The shop is often empty and I always feel like they're looking down at me when I just want to browse. It's a little overpriced for what it is, but it's expected in Greenwich. Some of the stuff is lovely in here, but there's never anything truly special. I'm a huge fan of original jewellery. Stuff that has something different about it. I just don't get that here. I've never bought anything from here. I might look in the window, and occasionally I'll pop in, but it's not exactly a must-see shop.

Anyways, I'm staying in High Street Kensington and there's lots of chain stores I can find back in the U.S which is a disappointment since I'm looking for ultra cute/unique finds to take back to L.A / O.C. As I was wondering about Greenwich I saw the name on the outside and thought I'd get a quick peek at it and loved it. I bought like four random cards (these are funny and I've yet to see them in Cali) and almost bought two coats here, but I'm still on the hunt and have two more days to do so (but I have a feeling I'll end up making the long boat trip back down there before I leave). Definitely a store to check out with some cool/cute finds.

I've not actually purchased jewelry here, but had a bracelet fixed here…read more It's a small chain, but fit perfectly around my mirco tiny wrists. The only bracelet that has been bought for me that has ever fit. So when it broke, I had to have it mended. It holds a lot of sentimental value to me. So I took it to them, based on a good review on another site. And yep, their expensive. But i'll pay for quality. I don't mind. So dropped it off to be fixed. Took them ages! 2.5 months to fix this bracelet. But that's not my complaint. My complaint is that the bracelet came back to me 2 sizes to big. I have no idea when they made it so much larger. I quuestioned that when I picked it up, but they said "it's written down here as the origional size". Can't argue with that, but unless I gone anorexic, and lost weight in my wrist, or they messed up! Needless to say... due to my now large bracelet, 4 days later if fell off my wrist and broke. ARG!

They sell all sorts of interesting jewellery and hair accessories. The products thus far appear to be of good quality but do come at a price: 1 hair clip with a flower on it cost about 18 GBP. Upon entering, I was greeted by a staff member with a small fake flower and upon leaving I had a choice of a 'gift' of a little 10 page notebook or some sort of small satin satchel. I find these 'gift' gestures a bit gimmicky and would prefer less free 'gifts' and perhaps passing that savings on to the consumer in the price of the products. I'm docking 2 stars because there was an offer at the front of the store indicating if you bought 3 items, you received a 20% discount. I picked 2 of the 18 pound hair clips and a headband and was informed at the register that my 2 hairclips only counted as 1 item, because they were on offer for 2 for 30 pounds. I saw this as a really round-about way of cheating a customer out of an expected savings when they've already queued up to pay. That said, I'll give one star back because the staff were very friendly and even got me a new hair clip when they noticed that the one I chose wasn't quite clicking together as it should have. Oh and the music in the store was kickin'!

Although I'm not always in London, I try and pop in when in the area so I don't have to pay their relatively high delivery rates (they have a minimum order). I also like the fact you can get a student discount, making the ingenious Patternmaster £19 (cheaper than my uni shop), though you can't get the discount on everything in store so remember to check first. You can also buy shop fittings, and stationary if you have a boutique, but it may be cheaper to go elsewhere at times. I didn't find the staff particularly helpful here, and when I asked them where things were, they kept pointing in a vague direction and carrying on chatting amongst themselves. I feel like they expect you to know what you want all the time, and with such a large selection, it can't always be the case. You must also remember that they add VAT on at the till, so your purchases may be more than you expect.
