This place could not be more perfect for me - great beer, good prices, and even whiskey! The atmosphere is good, even though seating is somewhat limited (not by the number of tables but by how popular it is) and I like that there is a separate smoking room. The beers are always very solid, tasty brews; not the most unique styles but they satisfy my craft beer cravings. The menu also includes some small food plates (I haven't tried them yet) and some liquor and non-alcoholic drinks. If you like whiskey, they have a few good options for pretty cheap prices. Cider and Snakebite! This micro brewery is awesome, you can stay at the bar, or go to the smoking room to smoke and watch football. It's really trendy and affordable, arrive early to be seated. Lot's of friendly people and performers can be spotted inside. When it's warm outside, the place offers outside benches as well. The place has a small selection of snacks, you can buy nuts from nut machine, or check the daily specials on the board above the bar. But no worries, there are a lot of food in the area. Reeeeaaaally cool. It's laid back (no hipsters, no fuss) but still a bit classy (beers are brought to you by the waiter). And also, it is delicious... They have 5 craft beers, all at around €3.20 a pint and all yummy: a pilsner (of course), a lager, a blond (surprisingly strong and tasty) and a dark (looooved it), plus an exceptionally good cider. Small warning though: they do not indicate the alcoholic content, and at least for cider, I think it is way higher than average (I was pretty joyful after just one pint - I am not an alcohol-superholder, but still, I usually manage to keep my spirits clear for longer...) The more classic side of the menu seemed good too - lots of bottled beers and of liquors, if I remember well, but you have to try at least one of their homemade brews! read more

We tried two house beers last night, Weizer and Dunkel (Oh god we fall in to cliche trap!). Anyway both of them were different than any other beer I tasted in their categories, both fruity and with a distinct taste. Fruity Dunkel sounds strange, but it was also had more burned, smokey taste with dark color too. You could easily confuse it to Guinness by the looks. Weizer on the other hand had a little reddish color and a little bitter than regular weiss beer. But it was not full body so lighter to drink. Both beers were excellent for my taste. But since they are different some people would find them bad. They also have many specialty and lemonade mixed beers. So it shouldn't be hard to find something that your taste will fall in love. It's a casual place. Dedicated smokers section. Great staff speaking good English. You should definitely try it if you are a beer lover. read more

I tried this place became it came recommended and indeed it was very good. I tried the cidre which was excellent. Not too sweet nor too dry. I had a sip of my friend's Pilsner which was very very nice but a bit sweet. Maybe just the day I went with the Euro Cup and all it was different but they didn't have food as other reviewers listed. NB: Finally found this place after much searching. Wühlischstr does NOT connect to Warschaurstr, but Kopernikusstr, which turns into Wühlischstr, DOES. Cool little area of Berlin. Worth checking out because it's an independent brewery. No more than 3.5 euro for half-a-liter of microbrew. I had the weizen and dunkel and I was satisfied. Very kind staff and very drinkable self-brewed beer. Specifically the week's special is often worth a try. Athmosphere-wise it is an often crowded but still comfy pub that is brighter lit than the often-too-dark German pubs. Also at times shows live soccer games in the back room. read more

Stopped by for a quick beer and it was the perfect spot. They open at 5 pm and within 10 minutes they were full so it must be a local favorite too. Decent selection of beers, I had the apple wine and it was AMAZING. Best I've ever had. Really good prices too. But just be warned I'm pretty sure it's cash only! A nice little micro brewery with nice staff, good people and great beers Went there a couple of times with friends and when time with my dad when he came to visit, all were very impressed - all the beers are self made and you can choose from pilsner, dark, wheat beer, cider and the special changing beer tap The place offers a smoking area and smoke-free zone which gave me the ability to breath, and you can always chat outside and mingle too now that the weather is nice I took the cider which was tasty and some other time tried the cider mixed with some raspberry syrup - loved it even better, my friend like the dark [dunkel] beer and my dad seemed very impressed with the pilsner [tried it too. it was good!] If you're looking for a chilled night out and like beer you should really check out this place, I even think they broadcast some sport events every now and then, you can always call and check :D read more

Typical "Berlin experience" bar in Friedrichshain. It's a bit crowded and noisy so you have to arrive early to be seated, but I really liked the atmosphere. Unfortunately there's a smoker room so the inside smells like smoke, which I am not a fan of. They have great beer though and I even found a really good IPA! The area is great too if you want to check out several places and there's lots of food options nearby. read more

The interior and bar are lovely with plenty of space. I wasn't super impressed with any of the drinks but I also wasn't disgusted. I got a cider which had an odd aroma but decent flavor, a little bland. I also tried a sort of red ale which had a very fruity aroma and great hop flavor up front but was very watery on the back end. Finally I had a weiss beer that had a lot of bready flavors and banana aroma that made me think of banana bread but not in a sweet, over powering way. It was my favorite. Great micro-brew! I visited Berlin a few months ago and I miss this place. A little micro-brew bar that feels like a bar, not a stodgy brewery restaurant. I especially liked the amber (Bernstein) beer they served when I was there, but the other offerings were nice as well. Next time I'm in Friedrichshain, if I'm so lucky as to have the chance to return, I will definitely stop by again! Also note -- they sell their beers in bottles, but these are bottles that they fill from the tap. The deposit/Pfand is a ludicrous 2EUR, probably to earn some extra money off of people who don't live in the area and won't be able to return it. There's no way the bottle cost them that much. So, unfortunately, I feel like I should take a star away for that. But otherwise, a great place! read more

I love this place! Especially when football season is on again. For me, THE place to watch especially for Monchen Gladbach fans. Im not one, but the back room (smoking) is reserved for them when Gladbach plays and the place wouldnt be the same without these guys! The home brew is awesome and the cidre is really yummy. Small snacks are also available, like wieners and open-face sandwiches. This is a place for drinking, not eating. The people are super-friendly. If youre in the neighborhood, its a must! read more

What is and will always remain a mystery for me is why these kind of places in Germany offer such a poor selection of side snacks. My American Family enjoyed the Spezialbier which was an IPA the non-heavy drinkers enjoyed the fresh apple cidar. Others liked the dunkel. Great place for all types of beer drinkers. We really like the beers: we got the Weizen and the Pilsner. The Weizen was especially flavorful and smooth. The ambience is very casual and has an old fashioned (but not archaic) feel. I loved the tiles on the wall. Prices are very reasonable, especially given the quality of the beers. Our servers were very polite and explained the menu to us in English. This place is really mediocre for a microbrewery. The beer also came with a really unpleasant unasked-for conversation with a bartender whose sexist jokes were on a par with those of a frustrated highschool student. There was also some amount of anti-American commentary. I'll pass this one. Too much nonsense to deal with when one just wants to have a beer. read more

This is an excellent drinking establishment, that is well hidden. It brews its own beer, and is just an amazingly social place.

The place is a little on the small side and I was a little bothered by the fact that they had food on the menu, but you had to go order it across the street. If you don't supply the food, please don't put it on the menu. My beer was a little flat but it had good flavor. My girlfriend's enjoyed her cider. read more
