I've never had these cut of fries in Germany and very few places in the States. More of a peeled, corn chip shape, than a traditional fry. Great cook on them and I ate all of them! (Burp). The ambience of the restaurant was stellar. It was located on a quiet side street near a park, and a bit hard to find since it was off the main roads and was raining the night we went there. The walls of the restaurant were adorned with many old pictures and posters dating back to the 1930s or so. The restaurant had a front room, and also a fairly large back room that isn't immediately obvious when you enter. The whole feeling of the place was one of a historic, quaint old German pub. The feeling was magnified by the fact that the waitress did not speak any English, so you can tell that not many groups of entirely foreigners wandered their way over to here (luckily one member of my party spoke enough German for us to get by). I could tell many of the folks stopping in were locals. The selection was fairly extensive and included both Mikkeller brews as well as the local BRLO. I had a raspberry sour by Mikkeller which fortunately was not too sour and actually super delicious!
