We made the switch last year from public to Horizon Charter. They have been friendly and answered all my questions. The only thing that confused me this year is when we signed her up. We were told she would receive a $250 giftcard for supplies. We did not use it last year. We needed it this year. When she received it. It was for $50 it was explained to me that the teacher was in charge of ordering and picking the amount. Which was not originally shared with me. To start at $250 and then she gets $50 it is a little misleading. Either way still helped. read more

I love my job as an Instructional Aide at the Roseville Learning Center. The teachers are great, the secretary, Haley Foppiano is tthe best in the West, the principal, Shawna Bastian, is super wonderful and works with us, not against us, and I love my students. I have no complaints at all and am absolutely blessed to be working at this particular school and for Horizon Charter Schools. As teenagers say, "You guys are the bomb!" I cannot say enough about the dedication of my sons' teacher. Stephanie Hildenbrand has been so awesome with my son the past two years. She has gone above and beyond in everyway. I have never seen a teacher be so patient,tolerant, forgiving, devoted to her students. She wants everyone of of them to succeed and it has been a honor working with her as a parent these past two years as we end 12th grade. My son just started homeschooling through Horizon Charter at the end of January and it has been a great experience. It was a great decision to start homeschooling for him and better decision to choose Horizon. His teacher, Katie Scott is so helpful, nice and always available for questions, we may have. The website, online classes and books we use are very good and easy to use. They have events you can attend, like the upcoming College/Career Fair for all students. I would definitely recommend Horizon to others. It has a great transition for my 9th grader. read more

I never intended on homeschooling or going the charter route, and yet I found myself doing exactly that this year. I was very nervous, overwhelmed, and had no idea what I was doing. Not even a full school year through, I feel the exact opposite. Horizon itself has been so easy to navigate and has so many resources to use to be successful. My teacher is one of the kindest and most helpful people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. I have grown into a very confident and empowered educator, with only Horizon to thank. Not impressed at all with this program. My child will not be returning, going back to traditional schooling. While the grades were passing, the communication was not great and we were sent some other child's report card...really? You should seriously pay better attention to private information you are sending out. read more

I've been homeschooling my 10 year old since Kindergarten through Horizon. When she finally made it known she wanted to be in a classroom, it was easy to choose the Lincoln Montessori program through the charter I already used. I wasn't prepared for how much she and I would love this school. I knew it was the perfect fit for her from day 1. Everyone is lovely and kind and accepting. My son has thrived at Lincoln Montessori Community Co-op. We love the small class sizes and individualized instruction.

Was at the Auburn location. My daughter was gender discriminated against by the principal because she wouldn't wear a dress to a dance. No joke. This school is backwards. Principal has no right to be near today's child, and was laughable at best when addressing parents as a group. read more
