My boyfriend and I went camping at Domaine de l'O in September and had an amazing time! We had a…read moregorgeous campsite right by the water and enjoyed a peaceful and private camping experience. We had access to unlimited firewood and were even able to drink water from a freshwater spring just steps away from our campsite. We rented kayaks one afternoon and were able to enjoy the beautiful river. While kayaking, we were lucky and managed to spot several beavers, as well as a deer on the riverbank. The owners Andy and Stephanie were pleasant and accommodating. They even offered to go into town and get any supplies we might be missing. Overall it was a great camping experience. The campsite was still under development when we visited, but we still had a great time and look forward to visiting again once the next phase of construction/expansion is complete. Highly recommended! :)

For the historic walk only. Zipline, climb, and take a historic walk at "(Ottawa) area's most…read moremagnificent waterfalls and canyon**" I'd sort of rate the historic walk a 2 or 2.5 but the aerial park looks good (did not try it this time) and is a nice backdrop to the historic walk so bump up to a 3. Two parts to this attraction: (1) the aerial park and (2) the historic walk. I went here with my dad to do the historic walk and check out the aerial park to see whether I'd want to come back. The aerial park looked cool and I would come back to try it. Ziplines, rock climbing, children's area and more! (I think) The historic walk - I would only come out from Ottawa (eg. 1.5 hour drive) it if you brought a picnic lunch on a nice day and you sort of made the day out of it. The walk takes 40 minutes going fairly slowly and there is a video of about 25 minutes at the end. One complaint about the walk is that you will get to a lookout point and there will be an old picture but its not clear whether the vantage point of where the picture was taken is the same as where you are looking from... annoying! The video at the end about the lives of the loggers would actually be better to view at the beginning so you can get a feel of the significance of what you are about to see. The explanations on the signs along the way are ok but would have appreciated a guide or more information. Prices are reasonable. Website is well organized and full of information. =================== **according to their website... its not saying much... esp. for Falls if you've been to Niagara Falls or Iguazu in Brazil/Argentina

The madawaska river flows pretty decent and is very deep in this section so the temp stays cool all summer long. It has a great sand beach but it drops very quickly so for adults it's great to be able to stand at your neck with a sand bottom. they installed brand new washrooms last year so bring the kids and don't have to worry about running into the woods to find relief. make sure you stop down the road at the NEAT Cafe for a great coffee, scone, or pizza for lunch.

There are special offers for weekday early morning players, "dew sweepers"; birthdays, foursomes, seniors, ladies, junior players, and for Slammers Tour players. Their Friday night Nine & Dine (or is it "whine", wine & dine?) is popular because of their fish n chips! I'll admit to being slightly biased as it's my home course but we came to give it just for one round and liked it so much we've stayed on as members. Come try this course out: it's only moderately hilly, with a meandering creek & several ponds that challenge one's aim. Not to mention being well treed. With five tee blocks, yellow, red, green, white, and blue, there's plenty of yardage to suit any player. This is amongst the best of the Ottawa Valley courses & well worth calling for your next tee time!

Again, a lack of tee box repair…read morekits, and an added element of Highway 417 very close by, is a 4-star rating. the oak & maple trees turning in the autumn make the scenery beautiful, but cause extreme havoc finding your white golf ball. The back nine holes have pine trees and a scattering of maple and oak leaves, but the scenery is once again, top notch for golf in the Ottawa area. The pro shop is small in comparison to other courses I've played, but it doesn't take away from the quality, and the courtesy of the staff. the snack area is well stocked as well, and there is a restaurant on the premises (I didn't eat there). For the golfers, I recommend the course, it is an easier course according to the scorecard, in comparison to the other courses I've played and reviewed, but still an excellent course nonetheless.

I had never heard of or played 5 pin bowling before, but my 3 yo has been asking to go bowling so…read morebowling we went. In 5 pin bowling the balls are smaller than a normal bowling ball, probably just larger than a softball ball. The balls do not have holes for your fingers, you just grip the entire ball. This was the perfect size for my 3 & 1 year old. They do not have bumper guards, but they do have the kiddie ramps. The lanes need some maintenance and repairs, but our boys and our family sure enjoyed ourselves. I you are looking for some family fun during the cold winter months (not open in the summers...see my tip!) this place is worth the trip. They lady (I believe the owner) was super friendly and went out of her way to show us the ins and outs of 5 pin. She was super accommodating and made my boys a fabulous hot dog! They have a small menu to choose from if you are hungry and the prices were very good. CASH ONLY.

Your first skydive…read more We went skydiving for the first time for my dad's 50th birthday this weekend at Mile High Parachuting. Immediately upon arriving we were greeted by the staff, all of whom were super friendly and made us feel comfortable. The crew at Mile High is very professional and all efforts are made to ensure that divers have a great time. Once we got there, we filled out the waivers, paid for our jump and then waited till our turn came up. It takes about 40 minutes for the plane to take jumpers up and come back down so be prepared to wait if you have a large group. The planes fit 4 to 5 jumpers (including the instructors if you jump tandem). When the moment came for my jump, it was a quick suit up in the jump suit, a thorough check of my harness, goggles and helmet and then we were off to the plane. The ride up to 10,000ft took about 20 mins in which we had time to enjoy the awesome view of the Ottawa valley and even see the city in the distance (we could see 100 km in every direction!). The ride down was intense! Really fun to free fall and then the view of the Ottawa valley under canopy is just amazing! I felt super comfortable and safe the whole way and had a really smooth landing. Since we had the last jump of the day and it was a gorgeous day, the guys had a cooler full of beers for everyone and we chilled for a good half hour chatting with the instructors after the jump. I would recommend Mile High Parachuting for skydiving to everyone!
