Fresh air, good food, comfortable beds, exercise, horses and great people. Cannot say enough good things about this ranch. I was especially impressed with their commitment to the welfare of the animals, checking them over every day, and making their health and wellbeing a priority. Many of the staff there have worked for animal rescue and humane societies in the past and it shows in the care of their horses - the horses are well fed, in good condition, sweet and gentle. The place is clean and well cared for - everything was perfect. We cried when we had to leave.

Upon arrival, the young lady checked their booking schedule and let us know that they had a cancellation earlier that day and a cabin on the river was available. She said she wanted to do one last walk through to ensure it was cleaned and ready before we checked in. Thank goodness it was good to go. It was super cute, incredibly clean, and surprising spacious... even if it was just my husband and I. We got the deluxe cabin, so it had a queen-sized bed on the first floor and another bed in the loft area. This would have been even more perfect for a family with kiddos. Either way, sitting on the back porch listening to the river and the birds chirping was pretty darn relaxing. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom and shower were a good size. All in all, great place to stay! Their location falls right between Telluride and Dolores, Co. We would definitely stay here again.

His session was a good variety of about 17 kids, pretty evenly split between boys and girls, from all around the US. I believe they learned a lot from nice instructors/guides and had fun, too. From a parent point of view, I thought the communication from Crow Canyon was terrific- not incessant but informative, clear, and timely. We were hopeful that it would be a good experience for our son, and neither of us was disappointed in the least- we are so glad he went!

I personally gained strenth because we had to summit mountains, all of this while carrying a hiking backpack full of equipment. When not outside we spend time in the house where we talk and hang out. During this trip we have no access to phones so its a great way to connect fully with nature. The camp leaders are really nice and the house is always clean. We get to see things and experience new adventures all of this while in company of friends and amazing people. When hiking or rafting or even service we have to leave no trace. Beaver Creek is dedicated to promoting Christian Education, recreation, and social welfare of youth and adults regardless of race or disability and is open to all denominations. I stayed here recently as part of an Earthwatch Expedition titled: Geology and the Landscaping of the American Southwest. We were treated as honoured guests by Jen and Ernie and I came away very impressed, and thinking that their summer camp might be a good experience for my son. The food was plentiful and amazingly good, and our stay in the all-season Berkstresser Lodge was almost luxurious by summer camp standards. The bunk beds (with foam mattress) were comfortable and having a nice hot shower at the end of a long work day was a welcome treat. There's also a catering kitchen, laundry machines, decent conference room space, and if you're lucky a sweet "guard" dog named Tigger. I also enjoyed admiring Fall's yellow Aspens, watching the stars at night, hearing the coyotes during our sleep, appreciated that coffee was available at 6 AM, and welcomed occasional Internet access. However, when you're out here in G-d's country, what's the point of wi-fi? I would highly recommend the Beaver Creek Youth Camp for your next group function. For this Earthwatch group, this facility met and exceeded our expectations. The grounds are also spacious, pretty, relaxing, and maybe just the thing you need to put your life's work into perspective.

Amazing horse sleigh ride in the snow! The guide was very patient even though we were a bit late…read moredue to misunderstanding on a meeting spot. He kindly bundled us up in layers of blankets, offered to take pictures on number of occasions both off and in the horses, took us around on the sleigh with a pleasant & informative conversations throughout. It was snowing and with a three year old who wasn't a very happy camper so I was sure how this will go but in a magical moment the leader foggier excitedly took off and her "kisses" started the horses, alas! She was a completely excited and extremely happy camper! My hubby and the munchkin got to ride in the front with the guide and "drive" too! I wish the tour was longer! I never wanted it to end! So magical and amazing experience AND it wasn't very expensive. $45 per adult and $35 per child was nothing for this unforgettable experience!!! He said they have a pony/goat/donkey... I don't rem what he said but some other ride my munchkin would be able to do in the spring/summer. I can't wa to go back to Durango for another magical vacation!! And to think I only stumbled upon this when I wa frantically trying to find a fun activity to replace the original plan of going tubing (found out it wasn't open on weekdays)...
