Amazing horse sleigh ride in the snow! The guide was very patient even though we were a bit late due to misunderstanding on a meeting spot. He kindly bundled us up in layers of blankets, offered to take pictures on number of occasions both off and in the horses, took us around on the sleigh with a pleasant & informative conversations throughout. It was snowing and with a three year old who wasn't a very happy camper so I was sure how this will go but in a magical moment the leader foggier excitedly took off and her "kisses" started the horses, alas! She was a completely excited and extremely happy camper! My hubby and the munchkin got to ride in the front with the guide and "drive" too! I wish the tour was longer! I never wanted it to end! So magical and amazing experience AND it wasn't very expensive. $45 per adult and $35 per child was nothing for this unforgettable experience!!! He said they have a pony/goat/donkey... I don't rem what he said but some other ride my munchkin would be able to do in the spring/summer. I can't wa to go back to Durango for another magical vacation!! And to think I only stumbled upon this when I wa frantically trying to find a fun activity to replace the original plan of going tubing (found out it wasn't open on weekdays)... What a blessing in disguise!! Thank you!! We WILL be back! read more

We had a great experience overall! Our guides were very nice and laid back. The trail we did was gorgeous. The only thing I would change is it would have been nice to get a little more instruction before we hit the trail, what to expect, do's and don'ts etc. If you're a complete newbie, I would recommend asking a lot questions before you hit the trail. Updated review: The owners were very understanding on our concerns. They made it right and are working on updating their website to clarify expectations. Our two kids did the pony ride. The wranglers were very good with the kids and the animals were all very well cared for. They don't have saddles designed for younger/shorter riders but it was perfect for my tall 5 year old. They loop your child around the corral only because they are no longer able to do the ponds. It is a good way to get them familiar with horses. read more

We are in our 70's so we did a private two hour ride today. What a hoot! Our horses (Morgan and Chief) were steady and sure footed. Our lady wrangler was very friendly and gave us a brief horseback riding 101 prior to hitting the trail on our steeds. read more

My 11-year-old daughter and I booked a last minute trail ride with Bucks Livery, and we're so glad we did! We had an amazing 1 1/2 hour trail ride (we booked a 2 hour ride but all in all the ride was about 1 1/2) though gorgeous scenery. Our guide Emmie was so personable and made sure to interact with everyone in the group. She took us on a great ride and was knowledgeable about the area and the landscape we were riding through. My sister, niece and I took a 2 hour ride with Aaron & we had a first time rider on our hands! My niece was excited but nervous about being on such a big animal, and everyone made her feel so special (and safe)! They made sure her helmet was on tight & that she was secure on her horse. We went through some of the most beautiful terrain in Durango, past a lake, saw a wolf & a couple of deer, and had many opportunities to take pictures. My wife and I are from the Midwest and were in Durango on our honeymoon. She loves horses, so we stopped in to Buck's Livery to do some trail riding and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It was an amazing experience! Our horses (Chief and Morgan) were wonderful and our guide, Aaron, was awesome. He was very helpful and friendly, telling us about the area, horses, wildlife, and scenery as we went along. We did the two hour ride and it was well worth it. We rode at Buck's Livery today and wow, what a beautiful and fun ride! My friend and I did a "special" ride and were placed on horses that perfectly matched our skill levels. One of the owners, Ben, was working when we arrived and he was friendly and helpful. Our guide was enthusiastic and our horses were obviously well taken care of and up for anything. Fabulous two hour trail ride for six city slickers from Brooklyn NY -- including two 16-year-old boys and two 50+ women with hip problems! Cassandra and Vinnie were fantastic, patient, and fun. Horses were gentle and beautiful. We called at 9AM and were on the trail by 11.
