The hotate was old and slimy and the quality in general was lower than what I would normally accept for something I'm going to put in my body. I don't understand how it's been there so long but I guess it's because the Dutch in general don't understand food and have a very hard time identifying quality in what they're eating. There are maybe 4 sushi places in amsterdam that are worth eating at and none of them are great. Even yamazato is about as goid as your average, walk in off the street, sushi bar in NY or California. Sushi is one of the things I've missed deeply in my 12 years living here and Otaru is a perfect example of why.
