I love this thrift store! I always find something good and the staff are very friendly. They have a lot of selection and two large rooms so there is a lot to look at. I have found my favorite thrift store in Ukiah! The staff is always ready to help with any thing you need or answer questions. Angel who was working at the front counter the day I was there went out of her way to help me find what I was looking for. This store definitely has some treasures to be found...as well as clothes and household goods. Every Tuesday is 25% off for those who have extended knowledge (over 50 or 55?) not sure of the age. I been here several times and the ladies are always sweet and very helpful. This time I was shopping when I got up to the register the lady helping me out started to look at all 5 jeans I was going to buy . She said 2 of the jeans I had were a different price . Mind you jeans are advertised as being $7.00 . I assumed it meant ALL jeans . She then told me the 2 jeans were $25.00 each ! To my surprise! They weren't priced with a different tag or behind glass or separated by anything . I should mention 1 of the pair of jeans was The brand " Miss Me " . Very shady if you ask me , so I guess if you go up to the register and have something the cashier thinks is valuable they can change the price on you . Really disappointed that this happened today . Please make it clear to your customers if this a new policy. I have donated here before and will continue. But this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth read more

We went here earlier in the year on a visit to Ukiah. It is a huge space with tons of items. Things are well organized ---you just need the patience to make your way around the many sections. I was mainly interested in the woman's clothing. There is a lot of it some of items are newish, while others are kind of worn. I found a blueish-purple pullover sweater, There are so many sections---furniture, kitchen knick knacks, books, CDs, DVDs, clothing, shoes, bedding, toys, baby stuff and more. It is very overwhelming. You have a lot of time and patience to navigate this place. I'm sure you'll come up with a treasure. The staff seemed helpful read more

This little thrift store is chock full of some of the most amazing items - and the prices are very reasonable. Staffed by volunteers, the shelves are so tidy and clean and well organized that you won't believe your eyes! Everyone there is very friendly! I got a Scrabble set missing a few pieces for 75 cents (and was able to find spare tiles in the community room where I was staying for the weekend). Hospice Thrift in Ukiah, CA is always enjoyable. I like antiques, and there are always those there. Friday I saw something I've never seen before: a minipiano from the 1920's. They were made to be portable, played in speakeasies, brothels, etc., when/where a quick getaway was often probable(!). It was in great tune for a portable wooden 40.5" tall upright (spinet) with two foot pedals. Painted lipstick red, Oriental style. Marlene, the manager has improved the store sooooo much. Every time I go in there, which is at least once a week, she's rearranged displays and racks, so as to "freshen" up the place. Hospice Thrift always needs volunteers with good organizational skills and ability to take direction, so if you are capable and/or able, help them when you can! read more

I didn't find much here for myself but my boyfriend got some great tank tops. They had a large selection of things for kids which can be hard to find. They had pianos, furniture, desks all kinds of things and it was all in really good shape. I would go back again in the hopes of getting some clothes. read more

asking for help isn't something i'm good at. but recently i have found myself in a position to do just that, ask for help. nothing big, just a few things like clothing for the kids and perhaps a night stand or small dresser to put in the kids room seeing as how we just spent all of our money getting in a new place after being homeless for just about three years. my pride would never allow me to ask for anything free. we just couldn't afford anything new. so when i was told about Hospice thrift and gift store in downtown Ukiah i thought great maybe we could find something there and hopefully it would be in our budget being as how hospice of ukiah was there to help our community and people such as us who have found themselves victim of the high cost of living, as it turns out i was wrong. the prices on used furniture was almost that of a department store and we were completely shut down on making any sort of deals. And we weren't even given a chance to explain our situation. we were treated like scam artists trying to get something for free and that wasn't the case. we were told they could offer an outfit for the kids but couldn't extend the courtesy to me or my wife. i suppose we should have been grateful for that because the kids come first, of course. but somehow after being there iwe just felt worse then when we walked in. needless to say we left there disappointed and empty handed. fortunately we were told of other places here in ukiah and eventually we found other places, and other people willing to help. and they helped everyone in our family not just the kids. thankfully hospice thrift and gift isn't the only place to turn to. i wanted to share this story because i think its important to remind anyone, everyone out there that the world is hard enough, helping others should always be easy read more

The place is cluttered and you're never really sure if the front entrance is really the front entrance because you go in and then there's lots of stuff and you have to go down stairs and then there's the cash register and all the clothes. The clutter really doesn't bother me, I'm rating 4 stars because there never seems to be anything interesting or nice clothing wise (except the little boutique corner which is nice but expensive) overall I would say the stuff in the entry way (exercise stuff, bikes, pianos, books) is over priced.The clothes are decently priced. Pricing also just seems inconsistent among items. read more

This place is a lot of fun. I did not buy anything this trip but did see some real scores for hipsters; a large dream catcher with feathers and an owl painting on wood, most likely from the 1970's. It is, as my son mentioned, a bit smelly. read more

A while ago I hurt my back and needed a cane. I couldn't afford a new one, so I went to the Hospice store. I found one I liked and when I went to pay for it the lady said, "Oh, we don't charge for things like that." A great little shop with lots of cool stuff, run by a wonderful organization that's worthy of your support. Check it out. read more

Cheaper than goodwill, more stuff in general- I've seen a pasta maker and a baby grand piano, among other things. I bought four wooden folding tv dinner tables in perfect condition for $40. The only thing I didn't really like was their women's clothing selection, goodwill has them beat there. But for household stuff I would definitely go here. read more

This is a rather large thrift store with tons of bric a brac, clothes, books and everything else. Facing the street is the discounted goods. Disorganized and full of items that should go to the dump. I bought a small fountain still in the box. The pump did not work and I tried to return it for my money back. Within the same hour that it was purchased. The store clerk would only give me store credit. Apparently, the three people working at one time do not have time to inspect the inventory to make sure it functions. That was the explanation for selling defunct merchandise. Not impressed. I'll go to the senior center next time. They have standards and test their merchandise. read more

Extremely rude,disrespectful and unprofessional staff (manager included). I was told to leave the store after they tried to charge my credit card $270.00 for a rickety old chair. I was told to leave because I questioned their obscenely high prices. I had the charges reversed right then and there. I absolutely would not recommend this store to anyone. The prices are obscenely high and in no way shape or form "THRIFT". I will never shop there again. read more
