Además médicos sin experiencia que se pasan la rueda y te mandan a otro especialista porque ellos no tienen ni idea. No les pongo un cero porque no me deja.

I tried to speak Spanish but admittedly my Spanish is very limited. One very nice receptionist offered to speak English which I was grateful for. I was there to get repeated pregnancy loss bloods. I was told to go to the fourth floor (gynaecology) who were very helpful but confused as to why I had been sent there from floor one (blood draw department) to ask for a 'pack' when I had already received authorisation from gynaecologist at CIMA. When I returned to the blood draw floor (ground) I tried to speak in Spanish again but found I couldn't explain myself. I reverted to English and found two extremely rude receptionist's laughing at my accent and laughing when I tried to speak Spanish (I am learning but new to it). I put a cup of water down which was accidentally spilled when the receptionist moved some papers. I said 'sorry' for leaving the cup there. The two rude receptionists began openly laughing and were mocking my accent saying 'sorry' 'sorry' and were obviously laughing together in a room of myself and other patients. I have never felt so humiliated. This was not what I needed before going for repeated pregnancy loss bloods, something I wish I never had to do. I asked the receptionist who could speak English to please be more respectful to patients. Especially when they don't have the language yet but are trying. I was extremely nervous and upset then going in to get bloods drawn. The two rude receptionists also demanded other patients went to get a ticket, despite patients telling them they couldn't because the machine had run out of paper. Overall, I have never had any other issue with a different department in CIMA, only the ground floor staff at the blood draw. I'm placing a formal complaint to Sanitas about this experience also, something I don't usually do but feel I have to on this occasion. Hope I never have to deal with them again and I no longer have faith in their ability to care for patients.

As an expat, the money you pay on Seguredad Social amount to between 150 and 250 Euro per month (out of an average salary of 1600 Euro before taxes), for which you get waiting lists for up to 1-2 years and doctors that don't speak English. With this in mind you would think that private hospitals would fill the void, right? Wrong. Places such as Clinica Corachan steal your money and deliver below-par performances that do not take care of the physical issues you have now paid twice for, publicly and privately. They do perform painful examinations though, which have no connection to the ills you have. They also don't speak English, and they do not answer your e-mails for follow-up questions and answers. " Great Hospital with Great Patient Care "…read more My wife and I were on a 42 day Europe cruise when she fell and broke 3 bones in her ankle. We were taken off the cruise ship in Barcelona, Spain and taken via an ambulance to Centro Medico Teknon. My wife and I stayed in the medical facility for 3 days while they treated her. This medical center had all top notch facilities and the customer service, which made the USA look bad. We were met at the hospital by Maria Cararach who was the cruise ship's Medical Coordinator for the hospital. Maria was one of the most hard working, organized, efficient, coordinators, I have ever seen. Maria worked so many hours at the hospital interpreting, and handling all the cruise customers who needed medical help, answering questions between the hospital and patients. She even gave us her cell phone so we could call her late at night if we had a problem. This lady was Outstanding ! Everyone at the Medical Center respected and listened to her especially the Dr's. I don't know how, or what we would have done without her. If she came to the United States I would get her a huge paying job immediately. Thank You Maria. You are Awesome ! I was able to sleep in my wife's room in a made up bed by 2 ladies daily next to her. The constant nurses coming in all day and night applying medicine and other medical care was outstanding. Nurse Lolitie was so nice and made sure my wife's every need was taken care of. Orfidel administered my wife's pain medication, and came in so many times to make sure my wife was as comfortable as possible. Dr. Ignacio Muro one of the top surgeons in the hospital came in or called me a couple times a day to look at my wifes ankle and to explain going forward, what we had to look forward too. He was so nice and educational with his presentations and examinations before we headed back to the United States for Surgery on my wife's foot. The Centro Medico Teknon gets the highest grade of an A + , THANK YOU !
