So I've heard the rumors of how if you're a tourist you may not get the friendliest service in a Czech restaurant. However, the treatment we received disgusted me. I am in the service industry in a tourist area in Baltimore, so believe me, it takes a lot for me to write a negative review. First of all, the word HOSTEL is in your name. That implies that you cater to tourists. Second of all, Cesky Krumlov is a town of maybe 10,000 that serves millions of tourists a year. So now that this rant is over, I will describe to you our experience. We took a cab into town around 9:45 upon recommendation from our Airbnb host, who is a great guy. We walk into the place from the pouring rain, and intended on spending some good money on food and drinks, because we heard it was a great place. The server came over and we asked for menus, and he said the kitchen had just closed. I understood. Then, I saw him drop menus at a table full of Czechs, and ten minutes later they have a table full of food. I go out to smoke about fifteen minutes later when I finished my beer, and saw more people just getting menus. Look, I get it. But really, I don't. I would be fired from my job for doing something like that. If you don't like serving tourists sir, then GO WORK IN A QUIET CZECH TOWN WHERE NO ONE TIPS YOU! Don't work in a tourist town. That's on you man. You missed out on a fellow service industry worker who would have tipped more than any Czech in there, but no you had to snub a tourist just because he was one. So anyone visiting this beautiful town, DONT GO THERE! They will make you feel bad for even being in their establishment.
