The staff is super nice and they really take you under their wing to show you a good time. The owners were there during my stay and the staff, guests, owners and friends all went drank in the rooftop and then went out to see some authentic flamenco together. It was awesome. The rooftop has a bar and is great place to chill and meet people! Truly an awesome hostel.

This hostel blew me away! It was right next to the encarnacion plaza, so it was breathtaking views…read moredaily! It was great to come into a room with all facilities working properly, a decent laundry program and as well as clean bathrooms! The beds were comfortable and it was great to have a comforter with the sheets as hostel rooms usually get cold with the amount of air conditioning they leave on. However, I did notice that it does get slightly noisy at nighttime as the rooftop bar closes around midnight daily and there are also a couple bars right under the hostel. I'd suggest getting a room that is not facing the plaza and away from the streets. The staff is also the best I've seen so far. I decided to stay a couple extra nights and they accommodated me with ease when I requested to not get my room changed and as well as keep the bottom bunk. The free breakfast was also fantastic when compared to other hostels that I've been to. Being lactose-intolerant, the hostel even provided soy milk and other products for those with dietary restrictions, simply unheard of!

We had visited the hostel earlier in the day just to make sure we knew where it was, and ask questions regarding our point of meetup. When the time came, we went to the rooftop of the hostel as instructed and waited. And waited.... and waited. 30 minutes later, we start actively looking for someone to help us. The rooftop was riddled with people (primarily teens) smoking up. When we finally met our bar hop guide, he told us that no one else had registered for the event so it was cancelled. Geez, thanks for wasting our time!

This review is copied from the other one I wrote on the other posting. So-so hostel. The location is quite convenient, and it's pretty cheap. But, the beds aren't the most comfortable, and I came in January and the blankets aren't quite warm enough. Our four-person dorm room has a private bathroom, which is convenient. The people at the counter aren't the friendliest here, and when we checked in, she wanted us to give exactly €5 for the key deposit; I only had a €50 and my friend had a €10 but she wanted exact. In the end she just told us not to lose the key, which was good enough for us! Not sure whether I would recommend this place, but it gets the job done. At €12 per night, it's pretty cheap especially with a private bathroom.

Its great for chatting & pre-gaming for bar crawls, and it combines the fun of a party hostel with the comfort and friendliness of a home. Bed, Room, and Showers: 4/5 Each bed comes with a personal curtain. Useful when you have that one roommate with weak-bowel-syndrome. I'd recommend getting the free earplugs. Sound travels from the lobby through the bedrooms. You have to ask for the AC, but at least they have thick blankets (as a recovering sick person, that made my day). Showers were at the end of the hall, usually kept pretty clean. Food: 4/5 The free food is generally pretty good. Personally, I had skipped out on the Risotto days, but everything else has been great (Chicken Pasta, Beef Stew). Being able to stumble home at 4am and chow down some warm beef stew is a HUGE perk. Also, be sure to donate to the chef if you can.

That's a steal in my book. At 30 years old I was among one of the oldest people staying there, and a bunk bed is perhaps not for the faint of heart, but I slept just fine. Bathrooms were also not in bad shape for the amount of people staying there. Overall, really cool experience, and a great value.

The hotel is worth it's four stars, although there is a big difference in the two kinds of rooms they offer. The hotel staff is kind, helpfull and polite. Pros: * Excellent location, under 3 minute walk to the Cathedral and Royal Palace * Friendly staff * 24 hour reception * Very basic morning breakfast (consisting of juice, muffins, cake slices, toast and coffee) on the roof. * Besides the bug bites, we did like our room. The bed was big and sheets and pillows "seemed" clean and comfortable. Cons: * Beware of bugs! Immediately after the first night's sleep I got bitten on my arm and eyes. My eyelids and arm bite became hot, red, sensitive, and very swollen. I tend to sleep to the right, and on the subsequent nights I got itchy red bites on the right side of my face, shoulders, hand and right pinky finger. Over 3 nights' stay, I got bitten 11X over my face, hands, arms, and shoulders. On the last day, we found a small dead insect strongly resembling a bed bug inside the newly changed sheets! I regret not showing management this bug we found and my bites because we only connected the dots after we left for the next city. I hope management looks into this, as it's a very serious problem! * Bad shower design: The outside tiles got drenched during showers because the glass wasn't look enough to keep the water in.

Alfalfa Square is nearby with a grocery store and a popular quick breakfast on the left corner as you face the square. 3. Kept forgetting to see if I could get wifi in the square itself.
