Walking distance to a Publix, the mall, bakery, etc. The hotel checkin is on the 6th floor, the first floor is mainly a seating area and concierge. They offer free hot breakfast, mini fridge and microwave in the room, cruise shuttle at time of this review is priced at $12 with pick up times at 10a, 11a, and 12p. If you miss breakfast, they had breakfast bags with fruit and other grab and go items. You will need your room key to access the laundry room and guest floors. There is no carpet in the room I was in (basic king- not the elite level) and pets are not allowed. Service animals only. The hotel has a lobby bar, three restaurants are located right next door (Sproutz, Batch Gastropub, and Shahs of Kabob). I dined at Sproutz and Shahas of Kabob and both are good, but they are not affiliated with the hotel. I stayed 3 nights prior to my cruise and I really enjoyed my stay. The air conditioner worked with no issues, pillows are very soft, bed was firm, but not uncomfortable and I slept better in that bed, than my own. There is a master light switch to control the overhead light in the entry and bathroom. You can operate them separately (it just takes some flipping of lights to figure it out). Decent water pressure and nice, hot water at night. Morning time I suggest getting your shower in early. Hot water is still present but not as hot as it was the night before. Tip- I took my shower at 5/6am the morning of checkout and the water was hot and perfect for a nice shower before leaving for cruise. Staff was always smiling, friendly and willing to assist. Carlos at the concerige desk is very helpful, ask for his recommendations and he is more than happy to assist. The 7th floor has the laundry facility, but many machines were out of order. This is going on my pre cruise hotel list because it was the perfect hotel and the perfect location. It was about a 15min ride to the cruise port and airport. The cruise port ride was booked for 8am, so I beat the 9am bumper car cruise port traffic. The video I posted is short and quick, but a glimpse of the room

I checked in on the app the day before and picked the room. We parked in the garage, went to the lobby, and got our room keys. As we went to the room, there was a sign on the door indicating the room was occupied. I was surprised and ended up going back to the lobby to see what happened. It turns out that the app was glitchy and we were put in a different room number. The lady behind the counter made adjustments and we were able to stay on the same floor as what I originally picked, but in a different room. The room had a king bed, a fridge, microwave, a TV, drawers, and a bathroom with a shower. It was very clean. We got two drink vouchers to redeem at the lobby/pool bar, which was a plus, to enjoy while we were at the pool. The hotel has a fitness center as well. The continental breakfast provided a selection of coffee and juices for the beverages. The food items consisted of a waffle bar, different types of pastries, and breakfast foods to choose from. They offered a little more than some of the other locations I have been at.

She was on her personal phone the whole time. I was trying to check in early after being notified that my husband and I could not board until after 7pm that night so we got a room. She did not welcome us to the hotel, she did not ask if we were members, there was no hospitality at all. I have called and left numerous messages at the property for the GM to return a call to me to discuss the issues at hand and noone has taken the time to address any of the issues, this is why terrible customer service is the way it is, there is zero accountability nor responsibility taken. We work in hospitality and without the customers we are taught we have no job but here at this property I guess they are not taught the same IHG values. The agent did not work with urgency or professionalism. All of the Core Valves that we are taught none of them were honored and displayed during this stay by T, the Front Desk agent, nor the GM who has not returned any of my calls nor the staff when I asked for the name of the staff member who had been so rude to us and unprofessional. The only name given was Taunia. We have yet to have gotten any apology, compensation, nor a return phone call. This was one of the most unprofessional stays we have experienced!!! Our first time being in Maimi, welcome to Maimi

We got a room on the sixth floor, and had pool access. Although there's a restaurant on the premise, we did not eat. The bed was comfortable, and there are also ropes and a yoga mat to stretch in the room. Our room did not have a balcony and the window was only partial height, with both fall, blackout curtains, as well as a shade that let some light and through. There were enough lamps that you could adjust the dimming. We also checked out the pool which coast on the 5 foot, it's located next to a canal, which looks nice with the natural landscaping. My only real complaint is the parking garage. The ramp to get up is really steep, my car almost slid off. Since the garage appears to be small, there were some cars parked in the driveway lane making steering a little bit of an adventure. We also had to call the front desk to send somebody to activate the parking garage because the gate was not opening automatically.

Mint House Miami - Master Bedroom

Mint House describes itself as like a hotel, but better and a way to live well on the road…read more It may be fusion between a hotel + an air bnb. They offer immaculately clean and large suites/apartment condos for a comparable price to a nice hotel without the typical hotel services such as concierge and bellhop. Help is available by phone from people that are not located on site. The apartment suites are modern, spacious and well furnished. We chose a 2 bedroom 1000 square foot apartment that included a full kitchen, 2 full baths with shower/tub, balcony and free parking albeit on the 8th floor of parking garage. Also included were access to a well equipped gym, pool on the 10th floor with city view and club room with pool tables and an automated coffee machine. There is great attention to detail at Mint House. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, stove, fridge, pots, bowls, dishes, utensils, sponge, dishwashing liquid, wine glasses and wine opener. There is a washer dryer with detergent pods. Each bedroom includes a comfy queen size bed with wireless phone charger (our samsung phones were not compatible), ear plugs an eye mask and even a noise maker (makes background noise such as rain or ocean sounds) to help you sleep. The bathrooms include hair dryer, shampoo (although ours only had conditioner), conditioner, body wash and bar soap and pool towels. They left complimentary 2 voss waters, 2 coco quemado snacks and 2 ferrero rocher chocolates. Unfortunately, the window shades in bedrooms are not black out blinds and do let some light in. It's hard to find that sweet spot of luxury, value and spaciousness when looking for a place to stay during travel. Mint House does accomplish that. The check in process is confusing. There was a check in email that we did not initially receive. We did not know this and after calling them we had this email resent to us. Guests are required to check in online before arriving. Part of the process, requires uploading a picture of both sides of driver's license. After checking in online, you must temporarily park in front of building and show front desk your check in confirmation completed online. The front desk provides a parking transponder and temporary fob to enter building. Once you enter parking garage, you can park in any space on 8th floor, use fob to enter building. Mint house check is on 8th floor which is basically a kiosk with 1 person that provides your fob key with instructions. There is no visible Mint House sign on outside of building. The building is a residential apartment building named Caoba and Mint House is located on certain floors. Overall, Mint House is a great value for those looking to stay in a spacious luxury apartment but without need for typical hotel services.

Check-in was easy thanks to the instructions we received by email, and the secure parking on level 8 of the apartment building was terrific. Customer service was reasonably quick to respond to any messages and emails that we sent! Our one-bedroom apartment was on the 34th floor and we had amazing views!! We had a bedroom with a small double bed, large bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and a lounge area with a flat screen TV. There was a Keurig coffee machine and we loved generous supplies of Peet's coffee pods, which are a world away from the standard chain hotel coffee offering. The apartment was also equipped with a washing machine and clothes dryer. The pool area on Level 10 is amazing - but we found it disappointing that the pool closes at 6 pm so you can't go for a relaxing swim after a day of sightseeing! There's also a Club/Games room with coffee/tea supplies and a couple of pool tables on this level. The bed, although it was quite comfortable, was very small and so was the bedroom, and there was no TV in the bedroom - not a biggie, it's just that we like watching TV in bed! We ended up sleeping on the sofa bed in the lounge in front of the TV some of the time! The lifts are very slow!!

There is a Whole Foods half a block away, and majority of the restaurants, including a CVS drug store are in that area, within 2/3 block away from the hotel. Bank atm are across the draw bridge. We didn't use the monorail for we are busy exploring the city by foot, lol. Not so good: The hotel restaurant, Riverview bar and grill - Although lovely, the menu was limiting, the same menu for both lunch and dinner. The wagyu burger was expensive for what you get and bland in taste at best. It's like it's been out there for awhile and just waiting to be order, it's also dry. Cruise line hamburger were much better in taste. The rest of my order including the drinks were delicious ! Solution: Need to expand their menu items. For a " regency" hotel, I was surprised it was very limiting. Expand the dinner menu, I saw a couple of people having dinner at the restaurant, probably fellow cruisers like us. The African American lady host was friendly, hospitable and kind. Reception/ Customer Service - My reservation requires a pre-payment at time of booking, one night stay charged, approximately $200.00, it's already been charged and cleared by my Ccard company some hyatt hotel only do Ccard authorization anywhere between $1.00 - $50.00 when reservation requires a pre-payment. But why in the world, this young Latino man charged me the entire 3 night stay at check in for $927.00 ? My Ccard decline the authorization, I asked to try again was but declined again. Didn't say anything nor didn't apologize either. Imagined my shocked and embarrassment !!! I told him to hold on, scramble my finances for about 5 mins and told him to try again, it went thru this time, but again no apology no word, just handed me my keys and that was it. Maybe the hotel manager need to address the issue re: paid - pre-payment authorization vs credits card authorization at check in. That " too young to know, too young to care mentality" never fails. Noise: For the most part, the hotel is quiet, it just those stupid, ignorant, cacky race car drivers who thinks they own the road, by blasting their (borrowed) sports car engine all day and night ! Not the hotel fault! They were having a renovation/ repair in the lobby while we were there . This hotel is hopping with flight attendants stays and hotel sponsored events. I will stay again for the convenience!

However, the walls are paper thin! There's signs all over the floors saying quiet hours at 9pm to 7am. But you can still hear your neighbors laughing and having full on conversations. I don't even think they're loud! Also the hotel is located right outside the river bridge. Every few minutes you can hear the bells and whistles outside the window on top of the typical Miami honking. I just expected more from this hotel being a Hyatt Regency. Oh well.
