Solid experience at hot stone! The food is delicious and service on point. Perfect for date night, or a hang out with your girlfriends. Highly recommend buying their vouchers when available to come, to get the most value. We purchased the 5 year birthday offer at £30/person which came with a five course meal. The vouchers go on sale during certain holidays - you can find all their previous offers online. Be sure to ensure there are promotional seating when making a reservation and follow the terms and conditions. Total meal with drinks, the oyster supplement and service charge was just under £100 for two (including the vouchers). That Wagyu though! Swung by here at the tail end of my trip in London. Showed up around 8 and got a seat at the bar without any wait on a Tuesday night. Ordered myself 2 orders of salmon sashimi, and the wagyu hot stone meal. The Salmon Sashimi: Very generous thick cuts of salmon. Fresh tasting and delicious. What more could you want? Get This. The Wagyu Hot Stone meal: Oh man I love wagyu steak, and here you can get it for only 25 quid. Cut up your steak and grill it on the stone for a little on each side, and have it melt in your mouth. This came with a side of seaweed salad and a nice spicy sauce to dip the meat in. Get this. If you're coming to a place called Hot Stone you've gotta take in the experience of grilling your meats on an actual hot stone, but also add some sushi / sashimi to your meal because the slices are thick, and its as fresh as I had during my stay in London. The restaurant is completely dishonest and disrepectful. I have made a reservation that I had to cancel. I have called the restaurant 6-7 times to cancel it because that's the only possible approach - none of the calls get picked up. Due to this, I also sent an email to acknowledge the cancellation, which is later confirmed. Despite those, the restaurant charged me £100 for non attendance. Conversation to calrify the fact is going nowhere, and the restaurant representative is only repeating in arrogance that "it's their policy". I don't care about charge as my time has better value to be not wasted on arguing. But I want to make this fact open to public. read more

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at Hot Stone. It took a ridiculous 1 and. A half hours for the first dish to arrive, and by that time, any excitement about the meal was completely gone. The lack of urgency and poor service made the entire visit unbearable. I won't be coming back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a decent dining experience.And the atmosphere was very bad.if i could i would rate it -10 stars read more

The place is elegant and at the time we went it was not very full, which is appreciated. The food, without being mind blowing, is certainly excellent. However you will really have to pay for it. To the point I think it is not worth it. Charging £120 for a 100g raw Sirloin Kobe steak is just too much, even when it is quality meat and the hot stone presentation is cool. Same for the rest of dishes, great quality and presentation, pitiful quantity. I do not mind spending £100-200 per person on a dinner if the occasion deserves it. But at this price point at least I expect to feel full at the end of the dinner. An ugly detail was that we were charged £5.50 for still water. I do not care whether this was bottled water, we asked for tap water. As if the food and drinks were not expensive enough, water had to also be charged with a ludicrous price. And do not forget 12.5% service charge. But well, if management is able to fill the restaurant with these prices, why not? Good luck to the restaurant. read more

They Just opened so I understand the restaurant still may be getting some things fine tuned .. and I will start with this the Sushi Absolutely amazing along with the Black Cod but save your money and skip the hot stone , the meat quality is mediocre and the hot stone they use everything gets severely stuck to everything it touches and it ruins the meat .. if you want to cook your food you're better off going to a korean barbecue place. But if you want to stop in for some good sushi enjoy ! read more

I haven't written a yelp review for ages. But every once in a while you go to a place that's so good, you have to whip out the app and start writing. Where do I start? Well, the place is new. So new you can smell the newness. It's a bit like being in a furniture shop. But don't let that put you off; it's bright and feels more spacious than it is. We were greeted by very friendly staff who seemed genuinely happy that we were there, even though the place was packed and busy. It took a while for them to come and take our orders but when they did the food arrived promptly. Between us we chose 3 starters and 3 BiBimBaps. All were excellent; the gyoza were among the best I've ever had. Earlier I had made a joke about them probably being made in a factory and frozen, but I had to take it back as these babies were freshly made. The octopus sashimi (cant remember the name) was drizzled in some kind of delicious magic sauce that tastes divine, and whatever the other thing we had was equally amazing. Onto the bibimbap and they were great too. Served correctly in a hot stone bowl with a soft fried egg on top. I finished mine down to the last grain of rice. After that we had mochi ice cream balls. I don't usually like mochi but these were so good I wanted more! I'm already looking forward to my next visit! read more

Really cute unassuming little restaurant on Chapel Market. Sweet decor and nice staff. The food was really really good and the sushi definitely one of the best we've had around London. The courgette tataki with the truffle yuzu, though simple looking, was so flavoursome! We went for the special maki rolls - Suzuki (sea bass & pomegranate) and our favourite of the night the Crunchy Hot Stone roll made with king prawns and crunchy tempura flakes was way more than just your standard sushi! We ended with sharing a seafood mix hot stone which I was terrified of touching seeing as it's heated to 400 degrees - but wow the fish cooked so well, and melted in our mouths. It's pricey for sure but definitely worth the experience and we look forward to coming back! read more

I was staying locally and heading to another location, when this place pulled me in. I am very glad it did! I was eating alone and had the tuna served on the hot stone, a side yumi salad, and the Chablis. It was perfectly prepared by the chef in front of me and served with instructions by the server. It came with butter and their chili sauce. The server told me to put the butter on the stone and then cook the tuna for around six minutes. The tuna was sashimi quality and I lightly seared each side before trying it with and without the chili sauce. It was delicious either way, but I enjoyed the slight spice the chili gave it. The salad was light and refreshing and the Chablis was a good compliment for both. I wish I had taken a picture of the meal before and after cooking. It looked great too. I am not sure how long they have been open, but it is clear the chef and staff are extremely attentive. I enjoyed this far more than the quick bite I was looking for. Enjoy it! read more

I think we have high expectations for sushi and wagyu coming from Hawaii (we are spoiled). We had a sushi box that wasn't pictured and it was ok. Sushi rice was a bit hard and the nigiris were on the smaller end. The wagyu was also another mediocre piece. The slice we got was a tad tough and our knife wasn't really sharp to make nice cuts in the meat. The experience of cooking it on a stone was cool and the owner was very nice. Gave us free samples of wagyu and sake for their 1 year anniversary. Our experience was better than the actual food itself. read more

The worst Japanese restaurant in London. We came here to celebrate my birthday, I was looking forward to it after following their social media accounts for almost a year now. We ordered most of the things on the menu, portion was small, which is fine if the food quality is good, but unfortunately it's not! I'm not saying the fish smell bad, it's just hard to chew, even for Otoro, good quality Otoro melts in your mouth, but I had to chew so hard as if I'm having a chewing gum! And the taste itself taste normal, too normal for that price. By the time half of the food came (and we finished those half), we basically sat there for 30 mins without any food on the table because they forgot to serve! One of the waitress had to come and ask us if all the food arrived, when clearly it hasn't. 10 mins later, another waitress came and took away my plates and chopsticks without asking. I asked her "Are we done? We still have sushi and Kobe beef that we've been waiting for 30 mins". She looked shock, checked the order and apologised. Service was already bad the entire time, no single waiter have ever poured us any water (we ordered still water). I was pissed at their service, attitude and waiting time! They have so many chef and waiter, tables were not full that day, and scene was still chaotic! If you don't know how to run a restaurant then don't! And if you don't have good quality food, don't open a Japanese restaurant! Japanese is all about food quality and service! And Hot Stone London has none!
