I had a really disappointing experience with Torrid's hiring process. I was initially offered a…read moreKeyholder position, which I was excited about given my 2+ years of management experience. I accepted the offer and was then expecting to receive a start date. When I didn't receive one, I had to reach out myself to ask about my start date. During that conversation, I was told that the Keyholder position was no longer what they intended to offer me and that I would instead be placed in a Sales Associate position. I was also told that the District Manager would reach out to me to explain the situation and why the position had changed. However, I never received a call or any further communication from the District Manager. This last-minute change felt misleading and unprofessional. I accepted an offer for a Keyholder position based on my experience and qualifications, only to have the position changed afterward without any clear explanation or follow-up. The lack of communication made the situation even more frustrating and gave me the impression that my experience and qualifications weren't being taken seriously. Transparency, consistency, and communication are important in any workplace, especially during the hiring process. Candidates deserve to know what position they are actually being hired for and should not have to repeatedly reach out for basic information after accepting an offer. I was genuinely interested in growing with Torrid, but this experience left me questioning how employees and potential employees are valued and communicated with. I hope Torrid takes this feedback seriously and improves its hiring practices to be more upfront, consistent, and respectful of candidates' time and experience.

Why do I always find myself in a women's clothing store? How is this always possibly. Oh, it…read moremight be because I have sisters and friends and I just mindlessly follow when we are out. Obviously I did not buy anything while I was in here, but I did look around and take notice. Obviously you know that this is a women's clothing store. It is also a store that focuses on plus sizes. They carry all types of clothing that a lady might be looking for. I mean everything, even intimates. This place kind of reminded me of a mixture of Maurice's and Frederick's of Hollywood (is that even a business anymore?). It is great to see a business like this. One that is focused more on the clientele than it is on pushing out subpar items for purchase. Everything looked like it was quality made. The employees look as if they enjoy what they do as well.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and offered some coffee or a bottle of water. After that, while she made it known that she was available to help or even give her opinion on things I tried on, I was left to peruse at my leisure. The perfect mix of helpful and hands-off! It's a little over my head but I believe the clothes in here are sorted by color season, making it easy to find things that are suited for your complexion and coloring. The options span from casual to dressy and everything in between. Brands tend to be mid to higher end and unlike other consignment stores I've been to, the selection felt thoughtful. Everything was in great condition and fashionable. When I visited, they were doing a sale on everything in the store. I got a wallet phone case, sleeveless blouse and earrings for $26! Even without the sale, prices are reasonable. Even though it's off the beaten path for me (I live in the city), I'm sure I will be a frequent customer here.
