I recently found myself in town on a last-minute trip from Florida, while my son traveled in from…read moreIndianapolis, to visit my father after he was hospitalized. Sadly, what began as a visit quickly turned into preparations for his funeral, and we were suddenly in urgent need of appropriate attire. As a WVU alumnus, I remembered Daniel's Menswear, found the store online, and decided to go there. From the moment we arrived, Phil greeted us warmly. After I briefly explained our difficult and stressful situation, he immediately stepped in with professionalism, compassion, and confidence, assuring us that he would take care of everything--and he absolutely did. Phil quickly understood our needs, preferences, and immediate timeline. He helped us select the right attire with care and efficiency, making a very overwhelming situation much easier to manage. After we checked out, Phil encouraged us to relax and have lunch while the tailoring was completed, promising to text us when everything was ready. Remarkably, we received his message before we had even finished lunch. We picked up our clothing and were able to move on to the many other responsibilities we had to handle before the funeral. Phil's service, along with the tailor's quick and excellent work, went truly above and beyond anything I have experienced elsewhere. We are deeply grateful for the kindness, urgency, and professionalism shown to us during such a difficult time. I hope Phil sees this and knows how much his help meant to our family.

I have only used their tailoring service multiple times and ourchased dress sock so I can't comment on the material or their pants and shirts but everything looks well. Things seem to be rather expensive, but once again I can't attest to the quality so maybe it is warranted. Tailoring service has always been quick, fair priced and the employees are nice.

I came into this Old Navy really to kill some time while in the area. It could be said that if…read moreyou've been to one Old Navy you've been to them all, which I kind of agree, but I was kind of impressed with the selection this store has (speaking specifically about the men's department, of course). This Old Navy is located in the Valley Mall, which is an outdoor shopping plaza in Morgantown. The store itself is rather sprawling, or at least it gives the appearance of that. One thing I thought bothersome was there were a few instances that I saw things I liked that had a big sale marker above it, but no price. When I'd ask the associate to ring the item for me, which they did without hesitation, I'd find out the item really wasn't on sale and the sign was not applicable. I couldn't really argue because there was no price listed there anyway so really it was my loss. The store has a nice clearance selection, probably one of the most comprehensive I've ever seen. It's well organized and really has a ton of different items in varying sizes. Many times I come to Old Navy and the clearance is all one size items, but not here. Anyone can find something back in their clearance. I did end up finding something I thought I needed. There was no line at the checkout and I was in and out within seconds really. The staff was friendly, there wasn't really much mess such as unfolded clothing everywhere. It was a nice location that I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for at. Even with it being back to school time when I was there, it wasn't busy, which is good in my book.

But their concept of having 2-3 customer service desks with 1 cashier each is just ridiculous. I had to return an item I bought online. I stood in line at one location, but had to leave because the cashier had to call the manager about something and told everyone waiting we would be better off going to another desk. Went to another location and stood in line for 10 minutes because the cashier was new and the people in front of me were exchanging items. The cashier said she was told she wouldn't be left alone while training, but here she was. Finally, another cashier came over to help me. And once she saw that I had an online purchase, told me she couldn't help me and I needed to go to the home department. I went to the home department only to encounter another line with no cashier. What should've taken 10 minutes, took about 30. Ridiculous.

Essentially, the store was opened to students who could peruse the store and get in on discounts and sales. I can't fault everything that happened to be just JCP's fault, as WVU had issues with transport and organization, but it was very disorganized and the sales weren't entirely clear. However, the WVU volunteers were very helpful to my experience and the ladies at the Sephora station, who were actually from another location, were fantastic. In turn, the JCP employee's were short and rude with me and other student. For example, I was in line at the waiting room with fellow students and over the winter break a family member had gotten me a JCP gift card that was purchased at the location in Parkersburg WV at the Sephora. Basically, it's a JCP giftcard but as black in white stripes and can be used at any JCP location (but not sephoras like the design would indicate). An employee, who I suppose was eavesdropping, interrupts me and asks to see my card and upon looking at the front snaps that there is no Sephora (which, I knew) and that I could not use it there. I told her that according to the terms on the back I could and then she took it from me and read it over before huffing and giving it back. Another employee at checkout also treated me like a child when I asked for clarification about a sign. After that, I put the item I was going to buy because I didn't appreciate being treated like an idiot. Overall, the JCP employees didn't seem at all happy that there store was inhabited by more than 3 people at one time for an extended period of time and I even overheard one worker complain heatedly to what I guess is her manager about how much trouble the event was. During my other visits the store were lackluster at best. Most times, I can't even seem to find an employee unless I stand at the checkout. Business also seems to be pretty dead so I guess they don't need a lot of staff. I will not be supporting this JC Penney in the future and I wouldn't recommend it unless you enjoy being ignored or treated like a burden
