I went back to the hotel that the gentleman waived at me on my way into Portomarin. Marcos, the manager, was very friendly and helpful. At that time, the hotel had just opened 3 days prior to my arrival and there was still some construction on some of the rooms. The room I got was great. The bed was so comfortable. After a long day's walk, it was much appreciated. Breakfast the next morning was included in the price (90 Euros) and provided a decent selection of cold breakfast items.

It is a challenge to find, at least with our direction, but after you make it through a lovely town that appears deserted, it is a welcome sight. Look for the hanging outdoor lights and ask in the restaurant if you miss the hotel entrance. It is down an alley on your right before the restaurant. They leave the heat on and have laundry available. the meals were plentiful and they had healthy options. Super kind employees that answered questions, good coffee to start our day

I also love how close the river is, I love the sound of the raid water. You can also tour the historical water mill there. This is definitely if of the coolest hotel I stay at. The food at the restaurant was modern and tasty and good portion I also love that they have us breakfast to go so we can get back on the walk before it get too hot with the sun. It is too bad I was too tide from the Pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, to go explore this hotel properly. But great service here so if you can book your stop for the Pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, book here.

A beautiful hotel located in Portomarín, we stayed here one night as it was one of our stops along…read morethe Camino de Santiago. Clean and modern, we had a wonderful view of the Miño River, the longest river in Galicia, Spain, from our room. The room itself had two double beds with a nice hardwood floor and flat screen TV. I would recommend this place for the friendly staff and great breakfast buffet that was included with our stay. It's located right in the heart of this small town that's surrounded by so much history and culture.

Both Pedro Xose and Carmen welcome you into their converted farmhouse that has both a small albergue/dormitory as well as private rooms with a shared bathroom. Staying here is like a home away from home. The meals are home made, you walk by the kitchen and see what's for dinner. Outside Casa de Carmen, there are lovely gardens as well as horses grazing and Pedro Xose's dogs wander around, and will try to entice into a game of catch. It is hard to find places on the Camino that provides one with such attentiveness and warmth. It truly felt like a home away from home yet with lots of Spanish charm! If you can stay here... you must!

The room was plenty big and it share a nice bathroom with another room. My wife described the decor as "very cute." We hung around outside for a while and they have a few cute dogs that are up for any and all shenanigans. They are very entertaining. If you are in the mood for a beer they have a vending machine that has beer. For me that is a huge plus. The dinner was delicious. I had a fish soup to start with that was awesome. They kept the wind flowing and everyone ate their fill. The place had a country farmhouse feel to it and everyone was so welcoming. We stayed in a lovely room, and had a wonderful dinner. If I could pick one place on the Camino to go back to for a night it would be here.
