The staff was very polite, friendly, observant and always smiling. The hotel is very clean and tidy, and furniture very typical Italian - all well kept. However, I was expecting more from a "luxury hotel"; like spacy rooms, a more private and comfortable lounge area, terrace seating's, and outside pool perhaps?! My single-room was at the very top of the hotel, and both mine and a double-room I spotted by passing by an open door, were small - just containing a bed and a small table with chair, with very small space to move. There were no air-conditioning, and with very hot weather, it was rather warm in here - still more comfortable than outside. The elevator was the smallest ever - could take a couple if standing close is ok. Free wifi, but not ranging out to the breakfast room. I missed a refill of the coffee in my room (dependent on coffee before morning runs!), and the refrigerator could absolutely do with a cooler temperature - almost no difference to the room temperature. Breakfast was ok, but nothing further; juice, different bread, hardboiled (!) egg, scrambled egg (from powder), bacon (definitely not crisp), ham and cheese, small selection of fresh and canned fruits, and a varied selection of bakery goods. We were early, and knew we could not check in just yet, but we were still hopeful that we'd be met with open and accommodating arms. Especially after our extremely early morning traveling had began, but no such luck. In a "Sorry, you stupid American" tone, we were told "Two O'clock Check-In Only." Ok, ok, I understand I replied, but can we securely drop our bags and go see some sites and grab a bite somewhere? They did have a closet where we could stash our belongings, but no real receipt accountability method, which was a bit disconcerting, but it still did the trick. After a whirlwind site seeing expedition and some grub, we returned in hopes of an early check-in. Wa, wa, wa... "No early check-in, two o'clock only," they retorted in true Soup Nazi tone. So, we camped out in the lobby and watched dozens of people check-in early. Obviously that was annoying! So, after a spell and a shift change, I re-approached at 1:30 and we were allowed to check in. Thank goodness! So, to make a long story longer, I was not impressed at first. However, once that breakfast spread the following morning was laid out, we began to soften our emotional dissent a bit. Then as days went by, we began to enjoy the room and accommodations more and more. The room itself was large enough to accommodate all four of us. And for those of you Westerner Travelers who are aware of Europe's smaller hotel rooms, you might be pleasantly surprised. The bathroom was large, clean and we had plenty of towels. The A/C worked fine and we were able to get a few English channels on the teli. They have computers in the lobby to get online with to check-in for your return flight and print off your boarding passes. Furthermore, when the second leg of our return flight had been canceled, the desk clerk assisted with calling the airline on their phone. So, all n all, after the initial greetings and bad vibes subsided, it turned out to be an enjoyable stay. Good location; Uber picks you up at the doorstep and off you go to the sites. So, I'd stay here again, but hopefully those snobby employees will treat their guests a little better in the future. Cheers!

The best part of this hotel is the free breakfast, but it's not just any free breakfast - they hook you up! I'm talking fresh fruit, croissants, freshly-made cappuccino, Nutella, cheese and so many other fresh pastries and treats of high quality. Definitely a nice perk before exploring Rome on a busy spring day. In terms of location, it's not extremely central, but it's pretty close. It took us about 15 minutes or so to walk to the Colosseum from the lobby, which went by so quickly anyways. The neighborhood is safe, the room was very clean and they had plenty of TV channels. The only complaint I would have would be the water in the shower. The temperature kept changing from hot to cold in a matter of seconds, and the pressure was terrible. I was looking forward to a nice warm shower at the end of the day, not a crazy back-and-forth temperature mix-up! Other than that, everything was perfect. Plus, they always have snacks in the lobby, so we loaded up whenever we could! There are also two computers with great WiFi in the lobby as well, and super comfy couches.

AC worked well, which was important for the 90 degree August days. We opted to spend extra to include the breakfast and were glad we did. It was a pretty typical European breakfast. They had cereal, apples, coffee, hard boiled eggs, lunch meat and cheese, fresh croissants and pastries, and pies, in addition to some scrambled eggs. It was a good way for us to start our day, and we enjoyed interacting with the other guests. The location was good, right around the corner from a metro stop, and about a 10 minute walk from Termini station which was great for us after we flew into Rome as there is an express train from the airport to Termini, and when we headed off to Florence. The staff was friendly, the price was reasonable, and location was good for us, all in all worth checking out for a trip to Rome.

When we arrived I think our mistake was obvious almost immediately to Daniel at the front desk, but he was very patient as we pieced it together ourselves. He then went out of his way to explain our options (even going so far as to tell us about other hostels in the area, if we wanted to compare prices), then helped us book another room for two of us to stay in (it ended up being the best and cheapest option by far). Daniel's kind and lighthearted demeanor made what could have been a very stressful situation almost feel fun. The rooms we stayed in were very clean and spacious enough for the three of us, as we spent most of the day out and about. I had never stayed in a hostel with a shared bathroom before, and was a little nervous, but ultimately my concerns were unfounded. There were several bathrooms on our floor--all of which were always extremely clean! The rooftop terrace was also gorgeous and well-maintained and was a great place to relax after a long day and take in the city. At the end of our trip, Daniel also helped us arrange for a (very) early-morning taxi, which made our trip to the airport stress-free. I would highly recommend staying here. You won't find better staff anywhere else!

I asked female to make me dinner reservations at a specific restaurant but she didn't get back to me after over an hour to tell me they were closed this limiting options to what was open last minute. Nothing. Also no one told me when I checked in that the room key had to be placed in a specific spot in the room for the electricity to work. I consider that pretty relevant information!!!!

I've stayed in a Mercure in Paris, so I knew to expect a kind of standard room with everything I need and nothing I didn't! The bed was comfortable enough and the wifi was fast. Some people in my party took issue with the fact that there was no air conditioning to be had, as it was turned off for the entire hotel for the season. I was comfortable, but it may be a good idea for the hotel to have a couple box fans on deck for those that like to sleep cold. Oh, and as a PSA, there is an elementary school across the street, and during school hours you will hear screaming children. Kinda weird if you don't know where it's coming from, like I didn't for the first two days. This hotel isn't too close to anything worth seeing, but there was always a cab out front to take us to wherever we wanted to go. My favorite aspect of this hotel was the bar scene! It was always a good time every night, and the bartenders were so personable and adorable. Get the Aperol Spritz!

The lobby is modern, all of the concierges speak English and are extremely pleasant . The room had a large bed- similar to a king size ( my husband is 6'4) and we slept extremely comfortably. The bathroom is spacious comes with a window , several towels and medium size stand up shower, bidet, blow dryer etc. The room overall was very clean and comfortable. Our room had a huge balcony with patio furniture. The WiFi is slow.
