We decided to go touring for a couple hours. When we came back, we completed our check in, received champagne, got our bags and headed to our room. They offered us breakfast for 14 euro per person per visit. Well we haven't been getting up that early so we declined. The room was spacious and looked clean. The bathroom was originally made to please the European travelers but being all glass. The gentleman explained that many Asian and other cultures despise this idea and complained. So now customers have a choice to use the curtain or not. With 3 ladies in the room we're decided to use it lol.

I wish we'd stayed at my company's hotel near the Gotic for a little more each night. The Silken wasn't worth its discount. The room had an overpowering smell, like men's deodorant (though, luckily, one of the windows opened and quickly aired out the room). Beds were hard as a rock. Our "view" for an "upgraded room" was of the construction site behind hotel. There was a weird lack of basic necessities and amenities - no tissues, no glassware, no clock. You had to open the fridge to get to the safe. The lights for the bathroom were across the room, next to the bed. The designer of this place was on something - and not in a good way. Oh, the bathroom. The rest of the reviews are true - bathrooms are entirely see-through. There is a rolling screen in place but it doesn't hide much unless you shower in the dark. And then you have an odd view of clothed people in a room while you shower. It's unnerving. Great for couples! But bad for anyone else.

The bed was comfy, there was a fridge and a hairdryer and a balcony but the shower was atrocious, it didn't stay upright so had to wash holding the shower head and it was either too hot or too cold. I would rate the restaurant highly, the food was delicious and well presented and the staff were so friendly and lovely, they made up for the unpleasant reception. I only went up to the roof terrace once and it wasn't really busy, and I was quite surprised as to how small the pool actually was, compared to how it looked in the photos but a cool place to hang out on a hot sunny day and enjoy some drinks. All in all a pleasant stay, restaurant staff are amazing, reception staff should take some pointers from them, nice enough hotel in a great location with Sants Estacion a stones through away and a taxi rank right outside the hotel to take you wherever you need to go and there is a supermarket right next door so you everything on your doorstep. Checking in was simple and quick as there was only one couple ahead of us. When we asked the employee some suggestions of what to do since it's a Sunday and everything seems pretty quiet. He didn't have much to suggest and basically said a lot is close because it's Sunday. The elevators is very small for two large luggage and two adults. The room itself was a good size. I didn't find it to be "small" as some people do. You're not able to turn on the electricity in your room unless you stick your room key into the hole and turn it. How interesting! Also the room key is quiet large like a car key with a big pom pom on it. So no very convenient to carry around. The shower "door" was awkward as it only extend half away across the shower so water easily splashed out. The beds were extremely firm (is all of Europe like this?) so we got some poor night of sleep. Overall, we weren't in our room much and the hotel was further from a lot of the attractions we went to see but it was part of a good package we got so it was bearable.

A line of taxis was almost always waiting right outside the hotel entrance, and a short walk to a nearby metro station got us to Las Ramblas within 15 minutes on a straight shot, with no transfer required. The amenities in our plush room were great, and the view of Barcelona from our eighth floor windows, with the Olympic stadium in the distance and a polo field just below, on which ponies were in training, superb. Although the large flat screen television in our room was not working initially, it was swiftly repaired within a few minutes of our call to the front desk. Concierges and other hotel staff members I encountered were friendly and helpful throughout our three-night stay here. The luxurious facilities of the hotel's magnificent Royal Club Fitness & Spa helped make the few idle daytime hours spent on premises even more enjoyable and memorable. When lodging in Barcelona, this is where I will always be staying!

The staff is very friendly and was able to check us in early after traveling al day. The rooms are spacious and also come with a bluetooth speaker which came in handy when getting ready. There's a coffee bar area with a kettle and free instant coffee and tea. I also love how they store shampoo, conditioner and soap in reusable containers instead of wasteful plastic little bottles. If you need anything else you can request it at the front desk. It's centrally located, walking distance to many places such as Las Ramblas and many restaurants/bars. The metro is right in front and very easy to use. We ended up ordering room service one night which was actually pretty good - kind of pricey though for a sandwich and chips. Just a note: there isn't a pool or fitness center on the premises so it's probably not the best option in the hotter months. It didn't affect me too much because it was chilly when I was there. But if you're looking for a nice place to stay with plenty to do around look no further.

Made some awesome recommendations and knew the area very well. If you're booking here, make sure you get your breakfast included in your stay. You won't regret it. All kinds of great choices: fresh juice, breads, eggs, breakfast meats, waffles, pancakes, and more. Awesome way to get a nice hearty meal to last you awhile as you go explore. Oh and another plus? Located just a few feet from a metro station that will take you to just about any of the major tourist attractions. We picked up a 2-day metro pass and boom, we were set.
