Almost every aspect of this hotel stinks. - Rate increased every night from 150 to 175 to 250 euros (eek!). And that was the corporate rate Sunday through Tuesday... - The internet here is a holdover from the 90's. With 128kb down, you'll be reminiscing about those great Livejournals you used to very patiently wait to load. - Breakfast is included but anything a la cart will get you! I regretfully ordered a 6oz fountain sode for 3,10 euros. - The staff is bad. Restaurant servers are nice but horribly slow (dinner by myself at the bar with one entree took 2hours); reception staff would rather you not exist. - Don't ask for a wake up call. They may say they'll call, but they never do... - Lastly, do not look at the carpet, toilet, or towels. Turning a blind eye will help you sleep through the night.

After having a really lackluster experience traveling from a different city in Germany we were feeling pretty run down. By the time we put our bags down in our room we knew things were looking up! The room was clean, bright and airy, with big windows. The bed was super comfy with nice bedding and pillows. The building was an older building but beautifully maintained. You could tell there was a lot of pride in its upkeep. The location couldn't have been more centrally located in the old town. Minutes away from all the historic breweries. Needless to say we really loved it here and couldn't recommend it enough. Exactly what we needed.

Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very good. The location two blocks from the rathaus is great. Bamberg is an easily walked city and this location is close to both sides of the Regnitz River with the dom only a couple blocks walk as well. This is a very nice hotel that we like a lot. Beware their prices are increasing pretty dramatically in 2014 (about € 20 per night more). To be fair their prices have been stable in the three or four years we've been staying here so an increase is not out of order.
