Overall, we enjoyed our stay here tremendously. The hotel was within 5 minutes of walking from the major train station. There were many restaurants, supermarkets, and shopping areas around. The area felt lively and safe throughout the day. We booked a deluxe room, and it had a comfortable king-sized bed, generous closet space, balconies, sitting area, and a nice sized bathroom. As for the amenities, the hotel offered a small sized gym with basic cardio equipment and free weights. There was also a separate spa area with sauna, steam room, foot baths, and relaxation room. The sauna area was only operational from 5 pm to 10 pm, but guests could request the sauna/steam rooms to be turned on during the day. As for the service, the staff was very polite and attentive. The cleaning service was thorough and quick. The manager came to check in with us to see if we needed anything. The hotel also offered a breakfast buffet for 32 euros per person, and it offered a good variety of wonderful pastries, eggs, salads, yogurt, cereal, and teas. The decor was a little dated in the hotel. Our room had shag carpets, and the color theme throughout the hotel was more like the 70s to 80s eras. However, the hotel was well kept and very clean. The hotel is lovely, on a quiet street next to the opera house (no outside noise). Our rooms were huge, which is surprising in a good size European city. The comfy beds featured those great fluffy, German down comforters in soft white linens that I love. Our only complaint about the bed was that the comforters were very small. I just don't even understand the concept of a 'single' size comforter that is only as wide as the bed. I mean, humans aren't flat, by the time you're under it, it's starting to pull away from the sides. By the time you roll onto your side, you're half naked. The breakfast was amazing. No European country does breakfast like the Germans and this was no exception. Lots of cold cuts, different freshly baked breads and pastries, a huge yogurt, cereal and fruit bar, and all kinds of other goodies. I wish I could just live in a German hotel. Overall a great place to stay if you're in Hanover, can't go wrong here. They have their own parking lot in a courtyard too, which is very convenient, and you're just a block or two from the shops and right by the opera house.

Odd it plays music. Tho the floor of the shower is very slippy. No rubber mat so you don't slip. One product in the shower for body and shampoo. Some conditioner. But my room didn't have it so I had to ask. Also my room didn't have tissues. Weird. I asked for done at the front desk and they said the hotel doesn't believe in tissues. So I had to say my room was missing things. Housekeeping did bring more tissues the next day. Also you'll get like 1 towel and one hand towel. No wash cloths. Guess that's European. But they put a towel around the toilet. Ac is very weak. Unable to adjust in your room. Centrally managed. Zero pictures in the wall but one on the ceiling so that's weird. Breakfast is in the basement. And that's good. Toilet is separate and the door doesn't stay open unless you wedge a towel in there. Maybe I'm just too American for trad German hotels. No microwave in room. I emptied mini bar fridge and used that. Was told that was ok by hotel.

But in this town, and having spent more than my share of nights in parts of europe not so often traveled, you want proximity and functionality. this hotel is located directly across the street from the hauptbahnhof which takes 12 minutes and 4 euros to get from the airport. the staff is imminently friendly and helpful in every way. but the selling point if that doesn't make it for you so far are the rooms. very large, well appointed and everything works. lots of hot water, plenty of electrical outlets, and the shower plays classical music while you work. breakfast is the typical groaning board of everything you might want. our room faced the square directly in front of the hotel which at christmas is quite colorful. the inner rooms are charming in their own way, rather lacking in that ever-popular view of the hvac equipment, which of course i was glad not to see. i'd say if you have reason to come to hannover, which is not normally on the american guidebooks of hotspots in germany, you'll want to start here. decompress for an extra day after the flight before you head on north or east which is our direction next. all in all this is the place to begin.

I am not sure if you have to pay or the hotel validates it for the guests. The hallway had a wired stench, smelled somewhat like natural gas. I didn't have breakfast, so no comment on the quality/cost. The main reason I took a star off is that the minibar is advertised as complimentary but if not stuffed with adequate supplies. It had 2 bottles of water. For additional bottles, I had to buy them at the reception. This is misleading

Stayed two…read morenights with my 23-head staff - and ran from one little nightmare to another, from room not being ready/ fully serviced (at 8pm!), lousy laundry service and disastrous dinner service - and no one taking care of us. Sorry, not good enough. by the way: we did actually get stuck in an elevator once in a dangerous situation. So the carpet shown in one of the image below is not funny.
