As a Club Carlson Concierge member I was upgraded to a suite which was amazing. A lot of space, light and free mini bar. There is also free internet. The hotel is well located, 10 minute walk to St. Stephanplatz. The nearest underground is Stadtpark and a tram stops in front of the hotel. The staff is very friendly. The romantic story to the building is that in 1872, the industrialist Hugo Von Donnersmarck the Palais built as an engagement gift for his future wife. Right next door, the manufacturer baron Friedrich Leitenberger constructed his palace. These two palaces are the Radisson Blu Palais Hotel. The only downside was that there is quite a bit of noice when the airconditioning is running which was needed when it is 35+ degrees. Overall I recommend this hotel !

There are plenty of restaurants in walking distance and plenty of car services to get in and out of town. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating to us from the first moment when we walked in. Management assisted us with a situation with our taxi that was impressive and we appreciated how he helped us. The bartender with a awesome beard is very friendly, helpful and makes some great drinks. Two of my favorite things about the room was their rain shower head and their cool bendable pillows. You need to experience it to see how nice they are. Rooms are tidy but 3 of us were comfortable in the room.

There are some wonderful places to explore near the hotel that would otherwise be missed if you were staying in one of the more touristy areas (which you will visit anyway). The hotel is modern and clean, this was very important to us. While I love old-world charm, I like to know that where I lay my head to sleep isn't under decades of grime. The food is eh. We had breakfast here twice, but unless you get a deal for it, I don't recommend it ... you are better served exploring one of the many coffee houses throughout the City. Ask the reception lots of questions, especially for recommendations, they never failed us. We will definitely stay here again the next time we find ourselves in the enchanting Wien City.
