Check out the ladies bathrooms. Each Royal Throne is quite unique....and very clean. In a great location on the edge of Lake Luzern, it is a nice hotel to sit down and refresh, recharge and regroup.

Directly across the street is beautiful Lake Lucerne. Our room was very nice, and my only criticism is the bed is too firm for my liking. However, that seems to be the norm in Switzerland, as other places were similar. I really appreciated the spa area on the 5th floor. There is a dry sauna and steam sauna plus resting areas with day beds, and showers. Additionally, the flowers and plants within the hotel were amazing. The arrangements were so nice and healthy. That was such a nice touch to enhance the beauty of the property. The breakfast provided by the hotel is also very good. I also appreciated the complimentary sparkling water and soft drinks in the rooms mini bar. The tap water is unbelievably delicious and has a nice mouth feel. It is clear the water in general is soft. After showering my hair felt soft, and using the Dyson hair dryer provided made my hair feel soft and silky. It really is the best of the best, I'm so lucky to have stayed here.

Although I must say, for the hotel size, the PH suite is not what I'm used to in bigger properties. But for this property, it's quite spacious. But if to compare to larger sized hotels, this room would be considered standard or premium at best. We had enough space but it wasn't large enough for us to not have to navigate around our opened suitcases. Our suite comes with a balcony and a view of the city. The staff was quite friendly and helpful in assisting us with transportation and directions on where we needed to go. All in all it was a lovely, small boutique hotel which served its purpose for our quick stopover in Lucerne.

It is located just a quick 5 minute walk from the train station and from the scenic bridge. Our room was a king "suite" number 5103 (on 1st floor) and located in the corner with two huge picture windows and massive electric storm shutters that can be closed to block out the ambient light. Most of the room rates on the very confusing array on the website include the very nice buffet breakfast located on the minus one level. I missed this somehow so we ended up paying at the hotel . As my wife just wanted eggs (10 Chf) and I took the buffet (35 Chf) we likely saved a bit of money overall-especially since the buffet comes with a three-tiered tower of fruit, cheese, meat and yogurt brought to the table. As for the room, the AC was good and the bed fairly comfortably with big pillows. The "shotgun" bathroom while modern, felt cramped and the telephone booth sized shower a bit of a disappointment despite the ample water flow and high end Lacitaine bath products. There was bedside electric connections only on one side of the bed causing a slight inconvenience but the feature I definitely did not like were the translucent end tables with red lights shining up that even a double thickness of towels could not defeat. Overall though, it was a good place to stay and the eager young staff was friendly and helpful throughout. Recommended

We were initially waiting for the restaurant to have an open seat but we ended up staying at the bar. The bartender Julia was so sweet and welcoming. She gave us some recommendations and everything we ordered was on point. The drunken chicken, naughty chicken sandwich and truffle fries were so good. Excellent service and great food, so much so that we came back to the bar for more drinks and food event hough we aren't staying at this hotel.

Reservations and arriving: Made via message online or a call; we did so as part of our stay at the Hermitage. When checking in, the front desk was very gracious noticing that we had an upcoming reservation and called ahead letting the restaurant know that we are running a little bit late due to the check-in process. Rooms: We were personally shown to our rooms, and we really appreciated the walk-through. There are lounge areas including the bar area behind the front desk, and some quiet lounge chairs outside overlooking the lake, and inside with a pool table and additional seating. Clear warnings of possible mosquitos so we definitely appreciated the heads up before opening the windows in the evening! Stunning views of Lake Lucerne with generously sized rooms, and effort to be eco-friendly, and kind service. Food: Brunch was buffet style with plenty of seating and lots of variety. Loved the natural or firmer honey choices, bread choices, fruit, chia pudding, yogurt, boiled eggs, sausages, drinks, etc available all with lakeside covered seating options. Took one star off for a dinner experience with the associated restaurant Hermitage. Amenities: Spa area includes changing rooms and sauna rooms, no hot bath area or pool so this is for relaxation and also some private rooms are available. Water sports can be arranged with the front desk. Great stay that was quiet and polite and easily accessible in Lucerne!
