Staying in Diamante K was truly the highlight of our stay in Tulum. Located in the middle of a national park, on the other end of Hotel Zone, away from the overpriced pretentiousness. You walk in and you immediately feel like you set foot in a forest surrounded by a peaceful zen vibe. Trees and vegetation are everywhere, and you are literally on the coast. The beach is a short walk over some rocks, and hardly any people. The buddhist style artwork is absolutely stunning, and canopy beds for relaxation for anyone to enjoy. What made the place truly exceptional for us was the people. Every single one of them Enrique, Mike, Carlos, even Marco the owner, all are super hard working and incredibly kind. They succeeded at making all their guests feel welcomed and comfortable. Casa Maria was a lovely treat. We looked forward to our breakfast right on the beach with coffee, fresh fruit and a choice of various entrees you can pick from the menu. The rotating fruit juices were nothing like I've ever tasted. The pool is a hidden gem tucked away. You feel like you are in a paradise surrounded by trees and the oceanbreeze. I miss waking up to the sound of the singing birds. It was such an incredible experience. I would come back in a heartbeat! read more

Not worth it at all! The whole place is full of raccoons and reptiles that sneak into the rooms. The people at the entrance have only one goal - to rip off tourists. The entire town is an absolute mess, especially the so-called "National Park," which looks nothing like the pictures. My trip to Tulum was not planned thoroughly, I found Diamante K on my AMEX rewards as a place I could use my points on. All I knew was it was right by the water. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised this place is BEAUTIFUL and fully incorporates the nature it is surrounded by into its overall decor. I loved the walkways, and little mayan figurines all around. This hotel is located inside a forest and the entrance is closed at night must have your hotel key to get in. When I arrived the front desk guy was so friendly and nice. He even gave me a map so that I could go tour the cenotes by myself instead of a pricey tour guide. One this I was not aware of is that my little hut did NOT come with a bathroom lol. That kinda threw me but the public shower was a step away from my room. I stayed for 3 days and never had an issue with using the public bathroom. I loved the room tho, the canopy adds a sexy touch. And the beach is literally a 3 minute walk away, They have cabanas and hammocks right by the ocean for visitors to sit and watch the night sky. That was jy favorite part I slept on a cabbana one night just chilling and listening to the waves, This hotel is centrally located, it's 5 minutes from the Mayan Ruins (although they were closed :( ) and about a 10 minute ride into downtown tulum. It is also like 10 minutes from Cenotes Calavera. It's the perfect location, I loved how easy it was to navigate. They only downside was the food was nasty, I ordered a burger well done and it came out pink. And the no air conditioner is a hassle when you're trying to do your makeup in the daytime. But besides that I loved this place would come again and get a room with a bathroom. read more

Hated hated hated this place!! Location was away from dinning. It's next to a national park, so getting back to the hotel at night was scary for a group of girls. You have to check in with some armed guards and tell them your staying at the hotel and show them a key. I had friends staying at another hotel and they were not allowed to get through because they were not guest at our hotel. So annoying! Aside from that, we had bugs in our room every single day!! I know it's a jungle but my friend stayed at Hotelito Azul and their room had ZERO bugs!!!! Anyway, they used very harsh chemicals to get rid of them. Beautiful location and decent food is the only positive. I was extremely duped and was fooled. I paid 1100 USD for three nights. The rooms was extremely tiny compared to the photos I went in June and the heat was unbearable as there is no ac. There was one small window that opened and the beds have drop down nets with a small fan above. I cannot explain the heat. I'm from Houston tx and it was like sleeping outside here. It was so hot you could not even remove clothes you were so sweaty. I had to leave the last day and go stay elsewhere so my family could be comfortable. My 5 year old became sick from heat exhaustion. There was one outlet by the beds. Nothing anywhere else. The toilet hardly flushed I see how maybe in march or so you could be comfortable. I would not recommend this place for the summer if my life depended on it. The price was astronomical for what was given. read more

Just got home from a 7 day stay at the hotel. We absolutely loved it we had our own private balcony and the room was great! The staff was all so nice and they were constantly cleaning the beach The location is more north which means you have to travel to the main area but also means less people and traffic getting in and out to areas like downtown. The food at the restaurant was all very good and the cocktails were well crafted. Keep in mind, this place is not some time share resort so don't expect it to be. It's almost halfway unplugged No AC but fans were silent and perfectly fine.. we slept great Got a little sandy in the room on windy days but the cleaning crew would have that fixed in no time There is occasion bugs but you're in the jungle so what do you expect Oh and they have parking right out front that we never had an issue parking our car in. read more

On our last night in Tulum we decided to have dinner here and it was a main highlight of our trip. Being on the hotel strip, there are many places to eat. However, the many places to eat are either over priced or hole in the walls but not authentic cuisine. If you want authentic, you have to go into the town of Tulum. At Diamanté K, they did not disappoint! Fair prices, a huge menu selection and extremely delicious food. Our server Marco was excellent. We had the most gorgeous and delicious ceviche, fried plantains and lobster... and don't forget the drinks! With your feet in the sand and that amazing view, it was the best dining experience on the strip we had. We went to Ziggys, LaZebra and ARCA but this was our favorite. Diamante K is a great place to stay if you are looking for some place on the coast in Tulum! I would definitely go back!! Most of the bars and restaurants are in southern Tulum along the beach, but if you hop on a bike it is maybe a 15 minute ride down there, or a 10 minute taxi drive. There are also several restaurants and shops just a few minutes away by bike. The Mayan ruins are also 5 minutes up the road in the other direction. Diamante K is a great spot because it is seriously its own oasis! There is a private beach, huts all along the beach, and it is its own paradise! When we were there, there was so much sea weed in the water that the beach was unswimmable, but I am not sure if that is seasonal or not, most of Tulum was that way. I was a big fan of the location, views, and the staff. We stayed in a suite so we had a lot of space, private bathroom and outdoor hangout area. The room really needed a second fan! All the rooms are open-air, so there is no keeping mosquitoes out. If it's raining you need a fan or are going to be eaten alive!!! Breakfast was good, but dinner was ok but pricy for what you got. Not a very good experience at the restaurant here. We come for a family dinner and we all start to order. I ordered and the two things I would like are not on the menu. They didn't inform me of this until they started cooking all the other meals. Fast forward to being served our meals, they then come up to me and say that they ran out of what I wanted to eat. They couldn't have told me that before they served everyone else? So I'm left waiting for my food for 20 minutes. The Two for one happy hour is also a rip off. Instead of bringing 2 big drinks for your 2 for 1, they divide the drinks into smaller glasses. Very weak drinks too. Bad dining experience and if you go have 5 things picked from the menu. I'm only giving a 4 star because staff was amazing! Room was about a 2 star. We arrived on a Thursday afternoon and they were doing construction right next to our window. Pretty awkward when the bathroom doesn't have a door and it's right in front of the window with construction workers working right next to it. Bed and towels had multiple stains. Bathroom sink had a huge leak. If you're not a fan of bugs and scorpions, do not stay here! Restaurant was pretty good but drinks at the bar are watered down. We got into Tulum in the middle of January. It was supposed to be the dry season, but the forecast was rain straight through the week. We had booked one of the larger spaces at Diamante K with a king bed. It was pouring when we arrived and one guest at the check-in desk was visibly upset about something. After he was helped, we were shown to our room. The room was very small - only comfortable for one person. The bed was maybe a double? It was clearly not what we paid for. More significantly, the floor was full of water. There was a sizable puddle in the corner and water was flowing from the palapa ceiling, down the walls (near electrical cords, etc, no less). The bed was soaked with water. There were dirty towels on the floor and no toilet paper. I suspect that the angry guest before us had abandoned the unit we were given. We abandoned Diamante K for the night (we thankfully had decided to rent a car when we saw the forecast) and booked a last-minute room in town, which was deliciously dry. Now, Diamante K has a supposedly no-refund policy. They have a laundry list of things that you "agree" to when you stay there. In the morning we got in touch with the fella in charge and demanded a refund. Diamante K was not apologetic about the water issues and kinda shrugged our issues off. It is "eco tourism" after all, so they expect you to be OK being one with the elements, I suppose. They did, however, concede to a full refund. After receiving the refund he explained that the palapa roofs only last about four years and that many were due to be replaced. I suppose they were not expecting rain in the dry season and perhaps had put it off. In any event, it is apparent that many of the units have significant, chronic water issues. Eco-tourism is often used as a cover to provide cheap accommodations at inflated prices. We ultimately ended up staying at Dune for the rest of our trip. They have concrete roofs. read more

Me and my husband came here for our honeymoon, The staff here was seriously AMAZING! They were so sweet, the food at their restaurant was really good! The bad thing was my room, it was very small very hot and I got bite ALOT I killed a crab, tarantula, grasshoppers, spiders like no other. My bed sheets were not clean at all the cover was really dirty and always had spiders on them. To top it off we got food poisoning from a buffet we ate from and we had to cut our honeymoon short because being sick and In that room was not comfortable at all. The beach water stinked really bad there was alot of kelp the water wasnt even clear it was brown. The only great thing here to me was again the staff and the restaurant food. read more

Unfortunately, as much as I loved the beachside ambience and eco-friendly details- I have gotten violently ill from eating at the restaurant here. I know this because I did not eat anywhere else during my 2-Day stay in Tulum. I went to the doctor and they said I contracted E. Coli. It doesn't matter how many times you wash your hands before you eat, you can't control the germs in your food. That said, the staff is attentive, pleasant, and the rooms are cozy and clean. The place itself is lovely and we felt like we were in a little piece of paradise while we were there. We had a room with a shared bathroom which was fine, though depending on who you're sharing with you might have a little wait on a Friday night! The food was fine, with dinner being better than breakfast. I had the walnut and grapefruit salad which was great. I feel as though with the on going issue with seaweed, the benefit of a private beach may be one that loses value over time. During our stay the staff couldn't keep up with it, not to their fault though; they were working well past sunset trying to remove it. Global warming hey. Do NOT opt for the happy hour here, I felt more sober after drinking 4 cocktails than I did beforehand. I and the other room occupant was standing in the line to take a shower. When complained to the, the receptionist, she give me The look of what I expected from shared bathrooms ??? Seemed all the resort employees were taking their showers their as well. I got food poisoning from eating Breakfast and Christmas prepaid dinner was another disaster. Food and desert were bought in a store and served us with thread in Turkey & how could the chef not able to cook the shrimp properly . Overall, overrated and not worth the money to stay here. This place could not have been more perfect and beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. Extremely helpful and accommodating staff. Airport pickup/drop off was arranged by them and was very easy. The hotel itself is not too big and very peaceful. Very cute little bungalows strewn throughout the sand. We stayed in "Tatitch", which is overlooking the beach and has its own little area where you can relax on comfy chairs right outside of the bungalow. (There definitely are some iguanas you will share it with. I was scared of them at first, but we worked out a relationship based on distance and respect and I got over it). It had a private shower and bathroom, which had great hot water and water pressure. Spent a little extra for this one but it was worth it. I did use the community bathrooms once or twice and they were very clean. The atmosphere is very peaceful and quiet. Much preferred it to a bigger resort, but you can walk down a few minutes if you're looking for larger resorts, other restaurants etc. The beach at Diamante K is smaller, but plenty big for the number of guests there. Very calm and relaxing. The room itself was great. Always clean and great daily housekeeping. Tiny but powerful fan over the bed that was surrounded by a drape made the temperature perfectly cool. During the day we opened the windows for the ocean breeze and it was fine. The restaurant was impeccable. We got breakfast included with our room. Great coffee, agua frescas, fresh fruit and good menu. We had a few more meals for a late lunch and dinner and those were fantastic as well. We had fresh ceviche, mahi mahi, roasted corn and probably something else delicious I'm forgetting. Micheladas, margaritas, pina coladas - all made to perfection. Service was so on point. Friendly, super attentive, and quick. Like, mindblowingly great. You can walk right down the beach to visit other resorts or just walk in the sand. The ruins are about a 15 minute walk, downtown is about 15 minutes via taxi (which are usually readily available by just walking out to the front of the hotel). Cenotes are about the same. Will recommend this place any and every time someone tells me they are going to Tulum! read more

We have had the best dinning experience where the food was amazing until we had lunch here. I ordered a Caesar salad which I didn't like the dressing as it was like Mayo, the seafood combination we had fried which was horrible, hard, and too salty. My husband had the fried chicken which was ok. The two pina colada specials had no liquor in them. The fried plantains were awesome. This place was magical. Very rustic and beautiful; the rooms were spacious and our room had an ocean view. Pablo, was very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival we were greeted with a beverage and taken to our room. Bathrooms are shared but it was not an inconvenience other than the darkness after 11:30(lights go out and it's pitch black). Few turn offs. I walked in to pay my room and the receptionist (coty younger woman)decided to shoo me away bc an "American" customer was waiting to check in. Then she bagan to tell me that I had to pay in pesos and not US dollars (I booked the room via Expedia) bc that was standard policy for credit card transactions. The hotels also have some type of plan set up with the taxis outside of the hotels. If you ask the receptionist for transportation they will not tell you that there's a shuttle that takes you to the airport in town $29 usd. I asked her, (lady with glasses) if there was a shuttle from the hotel to airport she stated only the taxis $80 US dollar minimum. It's way more expensive. Tip: look for taxis or bike to the small town and take a shuttle $29 for two passengers all the way to airport and you pick your seating. AC and spacious. Tip: $50 pesos to ride to Playa del Carmen instead of $50 usd in taxis (hotel tells you the taxis can take you). I was in love with this place until this.... and now we were also advised to visit kitchen table for dinner...(FYI the hotel has a restaurant....lol) I would say 5 stars. Minus the receptionist (coty) And last encounter had. ps. I ended up paying in pesos and it was $40 dollars extra!!! read more

We recently visited Tulum and stayed at Diamante K for one night. I chose Diamante to give us a different experience completely different from the comfort and luxury in Cancun Hotel zone. The resort has no AC, and we had to use communal shower and bath. It's not for everyone. It's an incredible place. We felt like there were only a handful of guests and we all had different areas to ourselves. We had a little hut with bare necessity. The whole time, we felt like we were in a different place and different time. I had bathing suits on the whole time and we just lounge on the hammock and enjoy a carefree beach day. We will definitely visit again but next time we will have insect repellents on and draw the mosquito net closed. The beach is overgrown with brown algae from Cain to Tulum so we can't go into the water. It's a shame. The hotel tried very hard to remove the algae but it grew back like brown snow piled on the sand. Food and drinks were okay and over priced. Breakfast was included. The staff is extremely friendly and WIFI worked pretty well. You can rent a bike for $12 US and ride around. We chose to take the taxi. It was just too hot to ride around. Cancellation policy is not accommodating so be careful. I booked the room on the 8th for my visit on the 16th but had to cancel due to travel plan change. Even though I cancel one day later, the refund was only $40, and cancellation charge was $158. I've never had experience like this before. I booked through booking.com and I went through booking.com feedback to request for full refund, but it didn't change anything. The hotel did offer me a different date, with different room assignment. So, if it's possible, maybe book with the hotel directly. The hotel staff is very professional. read more

My fiancé and I absolutely loved everything about this place. We came from the busy, hassling streets of playa del carmen and while the all inclusive resort we started our stay with was amazing the busy street sellers had left a bad taste in my mouth. I never felt relaxed and I felt I always had to be on guard because everyone was out to hussle. We laughed in our all inclusive about downgrading and we're nervous about staying in these hut types rooms. How wrong we were. We stayed in the junior suite and every morning woke up to put our toes in the sand, feel the cool breeze of the Caribbean, and watched the beautiful sunrise. We lounged in the FREE beds overlooking the rocky shoreline. At night we fell asleep to the waves with our windows open. The bartender made us this amazing drink on our first night that I wish I could remember the name of. We drank wine and listened to the acoustic live music in the restaurant on the premises. I thought to myself this is how is should be. Only a 10-minute bike ride to the Tulum ruins that were fascinating and about a 15 to 20-minute walk depending on your pace down the beach to Playa paraiso the world famous beach. This Resort will rent you a bike maybe not a new bike but it still gets you from A to B for $10 a person for 24 hours. It even stormed one day while we were there and it was still beautiful. You are about a 10-minute Drive from the ground Cenote and about a 20-minute Drive to cenote Dos Ojos, which are a once-in-a-lifetime experience to swim in the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. Personally I do not mind these things I thought that they were quite the experience but for some people these could be a downfall so I'm going to point them out there is no air conditioning (we were here in late February and did not need it was actually quite cool at night) no TV and our room only came with one Outlet which was kind of hard to charge all our Electronics it really felt like we were on a deserted island in the best possible way. The shared bathrooms are super interesting it almost feels like you're using the restroom in a cave and the shared showers have very little water pressure which made it hard to rinse the conditioner out of my big head of hair but most of the time I just rinsed off because all I done was swim all day. As soon as we got home I got online and started to plan our next trip with our children this time. We will be skipping Playa Del Carmen (except for a day trip) and the busy streets and instead be spending our whole time and Diamante k. This is a wonderful hotel to stay in on the Caribbean coast in Tulum. What a beautiful place to wake up each morning! Stay in a traditional beach side hut that's been upgraded to have lighting and modern plumbing (though not all rooms have a bathroom). The rooms has 24hr electricity, and a fan to help you stay cool, though we did not need it in January. The restaurant and bar downstairs let you eat right by the water. Go for the octopus or fish tacos. Skip the seafood cocktail: it's a giant glass of cocktail sauce with seafood swimming in it. read more

Spent a little under a week here and the hotel grounds are just gorgeous. Our bungalow was right on the beach, they have a great restaurant staff, they were so friendly and attentive. Their ceviche is amazing and their chicken mole is the best I've ever had! They do not have AC or electricity 24/7 but it is indicated so if this is a deal breaker for you, I would not recommend. I still enjoyed my time here as I was looking for a "one with nature" kind of experience. They do rent bikes and have taxi drivers waiting at the hotel entrance and are available at all times. We had an amazing time here! This hotel has no AC, no TV, very dim lighting and was the perfect get away from the world! If you want to get away from busy everyday life and technology than you need to stay here! Service was amazing. Carlos was our server most of the time there and he was phenomenal. The bar tender Sylvia was there every day we were there (8 days) and works hard to make the best dinks and the best service! The workers clean all day to keep the whole area spotless and they even rake the private beach to keep it beautiful. I cannot say enough about this place! We will def be back. read more

Restaurant review: Don't bother with the watered down, miniature 3 sips, 2 for 1 drink specials. Also, when the bill arrived there was a 10% service charge included along with an additional tip line. The server stood over my shoulder... waiting for me to add a tip.... I questioned the service charge and he began to get defensive and argued with me that the 10% goes to the kitchen and does not benefit him. Don't fall for this like I did. It was our 30th wedding vacation and we got a call 2 days before our check-in to let us know they don't have our bungalow and that they'll "try" to get us into their sister hotel Agape. That our deposit is non-refundable. We of course didn't have any choice but thank goodness we liked Hotel Agape with their rooftop pool/restaurant. On 2nd day we visited Hotel Diamanté and enjoyed a nice lunch and inquired if they were open and if possible we can spend our last day in Tulum there. The male receptionist indicated they're now open and may have something available but because Natalia has been helping us and that she was scheduled to come in 15 minutes that she will give us a call to let us know. Before we left I told the man to let Natalia know but I know she already knows it's our 30th anniversary and may help her try hard for us to accommodate but she is NON RESPONSIVE. So disappointing that she couldn't care less to call us to let us know either way. At least we knew she tried. We were ready to spend money just to be at their bungalow. This was just the type of place we were looking to stay for our first time on the Yucatan. The entire resort is right on the sand. It is an eco-tourism type spot. Do not expect the typical amenities of most hotels or resorts, no a/c. It is perfectly rustic with palm thatched roofs over typical mexican wood & stucco framed walls. You can hear the ocean, wind and rain, while protected from insects with draped screens over the bed. It was great to have a fan built right in! Not all the rooms have their own bathrooms, but the shared bathrooms and showers were actually just as good. Our room had its own bathroom, which was outside, but partially covered and private. Ana, the host, was fantastic and happy to give any advice, do not hesitate to ask. The restaurant is convenient, delicious and the staff was excellent. You can set yourself up anywhere nearby on a lounge chair or right on the sand and they will serve you drinks & food. We would certainly stay here again when back in Tulum. We had a rental car, but it is not far from downtown if you wanted to rent one of their bikes or take a taxi/shuttle. read more

I will never go here again. Nor should you unless you like brown water, seaweed choked waters and bad stench. This is not a frivolous or an exaggerated review. But it's your money folks. IT IS NOTHING LIKE THE PHOTOS THEY HAVE ON THE SITE. If you can picture being in Cleveland and sitting on the shores of Lake Erie in the 1970's but with palm trees that was what it was like. The little cove they have is the worst of all. I would not normally ding a hotel for a natural occurrence but they should put some type of disclaimer warning people. I tried working with the people who run the hotel for some type of credit, maybe 30%. I sent two messages. THEY NEVER EVEN HAD THE COURTESY OF RESPONDING! Great chill airy compound off the main tourist drag. Shared bathroom facilities are a touch wonky, but totally serviceable. Stayed over New Years, and place had a very relaxing vibe. Hope to be back. read more

This charming boutique hotel will take your breath away. Nestled on the coast of Tulum, Diamante K offers a stunning private beach with visually pleasing and comfortable rooms. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your visit is perfect and answers all your questions and even will help you set-up local adventures with trust worthy guides or taxis. Gustavo was extremely helpful and always welcomed us with a smile and by name! The cherry to top is the hotel's resturant, Casa Maria. THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE. Everything was sooo fresh and staff was so very sweet. John and the rest of the servers always provided great service and usually a laugh or two. We had many meals there the 5 days we were there and every single one was exceptional. Cocktails were also some of the best I have ever had, try the pina colada, so fresh and not too sweet! Another perk to the hotel is that the Tulum ruins are an easy walk down the street which is a big bonus. There are other walkable near by restaurants as well. Yoga is offered every morning, it's a 1 hour session and was the perfect blend of physical challenge and mental reset. The instructor was very kind. When it came to getting our Covid test to return home to the US, the hotel set up an appointment for us and a nurse came right to our hotel room to administer the test, results were given to you in minutes and documentation was sent to you only a few hours later...very convenient. My husband and I don't have anything bad to say about our experience at Diamante K and will be coming back again!! This was one of our favorite hotels we have ever stayed at!! It was just the oasis we were looking for. You could roll out of bed and go straight to a breakfast on the beach with beautiful views. The bathrooms were the cleanest we've ever seen! The staff was very helpful and friendly! And everything in Tulum was easily accessible. Can't wait to come back soon! read more
