Sauna is much better than the average for a 4 star hotel, but sauna connoisseurs will find it merely acceptable. I really liked it! It's a mixed sauna like most are in Germany so if this us an issue you now know before getting embarrassed. Gym is very basic, but will give you a workout to survive a 2-3 day business trip if weather does not allow a good run. During my visit they forgot to restock shampoo once, which was a bit annoying. Room was not properly cleaned every day. Sloppy. One morning I got up later and trying to show at around 8 am was not very pleasant. No hot water left... Unacceptable. List prices are too high, and for private stays I would not see it justified to pay more than 120-130 EUR off-season and a bit more during summer. Conference area and business services were great. Free WLAN, projectors working, coffe, water, fresh fruit etc. I recommend this hotel for business and it's a maybe for private stays (there are other better and more cozy hotels in the area).

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It is a historical hotel, but has been well…read moremaintained. We enjoyed the original woodwork and architectural features. The staff at the desk was helpful, spoke English, and was quite willing to answer questions. Our room was spacious and very clean. We did find the room somewhat warm at night, but the windows could be opened for fresh air. Our stay was peaceful and quiet. The location is convenient. We could easily walk to most places in town, including the lake, and was just across the street from the train station. The buffet breakfast was very good, with many healthy, delicious options. We enjoyed coffee and sweets in the afternoon in their beautiful cafe. We had a wonderful experience here and, if ever traveling in this area again, would definitely stay here again.

The room was ok nothing to write home about and the breakfast was ok. The value for money is very poor and we ended up getting a room directly facing the station and the crap Italian restaurant (read my review) below that belted out shit music all evening in the name of entertainment. I was told that in the summer they will do this till midnight. None of the other restaurants in town had music blaring when we walked around so this would have to be a special place indeed. I asked the hotel if they could supply us a fan as it was so hot and we could not keep our windows open due to the loud music. And all i got was an apology and no fan. The windows had to be closed and opened later in the night. The worst thing is that they did not remind us or warn us this was going to happen which I think is common courtesy. At €125 a night I would probably not come back here again. I had no choice in this instance as everything else was booked out but next time I will look in the surrounding areas first before having to pick this place.
