I really enjoy my stay, too bad it was just short and quick. The staff are very attentive and very polite. Philippines in general is very service oriented country so the level of costumer service I receive from this hotel is amazing, they try their best to go beyond your expectation while having a smile on their face. This is something they need to learn in the US. I booked the aqua-room and you can see schools of fish swimming while you're in the room, it's very unique. Breakfast is not included but it's okay because there is a lot of places to eat in the Ocean Park and the surrounding area and the Hotel has Makan-Makan and they open early. Since I grew up in Philippines, I'm very much aware of the city and the lifestyle of the people so it's very easy for me to adjust. The Ocean Park is not included when you check in. I'm also not sure if the Hotel is pet friendly. The things I appreciate is when they let me reheat outside food especially my moms cook meals, they just let me sign a form that the food is not from the hotel so they are not responsible for anything. I also appreciate the level of costumer service from every staff because they try to go above and beyond to the best of their ability. I also appreciate the fact that all the power in your room turn off whenever you leave the room, It's a way for the hotel to save electricity and their way of being environment friendly. So be careful when it comes to asking for extra towel and extra bottles of water because they will charge you. It's a way for you not to consume more than what you need. Also be careful from the people outside the Ocean Park because some of them will try to scam you specially if you are a foreigner, always ask the Hotel and Ocean Park staff for help whenever you're not sure because they are very willing to assist you. Hopefully when I get back I can try their spa. And I will definitely endorse this to all of my friends and all of the people I know.

My wife and made reservations for this place in September 2022 for our stay in January 7 & 8, 2023. We after staying overnight. We will never recommend or stay at this place again. The front desk was exceptional in checking us in to the hotel. Our hotel stay was ok. But, when I requested 2 pillows and a blanket from housekeeping by phone. I waited at least 2 hours or more and no one showed up. So I called housekeeping again and no one answered so I called front desk and told them I was waiting for my pillows and a blanket that I requested a while ago. I was aware of the charge. WHY IS EVERYTHING A CHARGE!! Per pillow is $100 pesos and per blanket is $200 pesos. Anyway, the front desk got on my requests including 3 extra towels (per towel $100 pesos). Housekeeping came almost immediately to our room to deliver the pillows, blanket and towels. We gave the person money for the stuff we requested. In the U.S., most hotel towels, pillows and blankets are free of charge for extra items. I know we're in the Philippines and I'm not sure how all hotel services are. But, for Hotel H20 being high rated and having a high reputation it way below our standards. Besides the pillows, towels and blanket service. The Makan Makan Asian Food Village Restaurant is super delicious. Things the Hotel H20 need to improve on are housekeeping and providing extra toilet paper (one roll per room) and they should also supply tissue paper as well. Hope this comment helps improve this highly rated hotel.

This is a very solid 4 star hotel. It feels very secure with security at the entrance as well as on the 2nd floor where most of the guest rooms are. Key card is required for entry into the guest section on the 2nd floor. As for the facilities, they are quite nice and do not feel worn down. Complimentary goodies include the usual dental kits, shower necessities, slippers, and soda/water/snacks. There is also a breakfast buffet (might depend on your deal), which is on the 2nd floor of the building. Staff is very courteous and caters to your requests. My only knock is the fact that the hotel doesn't allow outside food. This is a strange rule for me, but they are not very strict on enforcing it. Nevertheless, a security guard mentioned it to me when I brought a pizza in. I would stay at this hotel again as it has made my stay at Manila enjoyable and stress free.

    Great experience...Fish spa @ H2o spa.

The Manila Hotel is beautiful and the history of it all speaks volumes. The architecture, art pieces and ambience highlights the culture and foundation of this amazing hotel. When walking inside Manila Hotel they have many beautiful Filipiniana gowns displayed by many different artists. Each gown is meticulously pieced together by Filipino artists and stylists. It was important for us to see this hotel as we pass on the importance of culture and history to our children. I remember when I was much younger my grandparents and grandfather would take us here for lunch and during the summer when I'm off school with family and friends. The Manila Hotel has sentimental value for our family (on both sides). My grandfather was a prominent lawyer in the 70s, 80s and 90s. When he was busy working and meeting clients here, he would make sure to have us picked up and brought here so he wouldn't miss dinner with us. Love the aesthetics of the hotel along with the paintings that hang along the hotel and the hallway towards Cafe Ilang Ilang. Felt the history of it all when I last visited Manila Hotel at 8 years old. Thankful to be able to visit this place and show our child the rich history of Manila Hotel so she can write about it. Will be staying here on our next visit. We can't wait.

There are some pockets of poverty--but that's Manila. It's a fact of life there. If anyone wants to be oblivious to poverty in Manila, stay at the Hilton; it's connected to Newport Mall with everything you need and you never have to leave that hotel. From New Coast, Robinsons Mall, McDonalds, Jollybees and Dunkin Donuts are all walking distance. There were live bands performing outdoors (with Filipino street food) during Laviefest 2025 in November. The hotel service was beyond outstanding. If we needed towels, they showed up. Room service showed up whenever we wanted and the food was delicious. They made the rooms very well and even folded our clothes. The hotel provided exceptional laundry service. They even provided a hair dryer when my wife's went bad. My only critique was the renovations that were occurring during our stay. It was an eye sore and resulted in some degradation in services (e.g., swimming pool). The rooms were nice and comfortable. I would stay at New Coast again, but only after renovations are complete. Do I recommend this place? Yes!!

We checked out the lounge cafe near the lobby and had some drinks and snacks. The cappuccino was great! The room we stayed in was very spacious. It took us a minute to figure out how the lights worked but eventually we got it. The hotel room had some features that made it seem old and a little run down. The carpet had some areas that were peeling and stained. The furniture looked a little worn. The bathroom was really nice though! This area of Manila was very congested and felt unsafe. There is constant traffic, the sidewalks are almost non-existent, and there is a lot of noticeable poverty and homelessness. I would not necessarily recommend staying in this area.

This is a solid 4 star hotel choice in the Manila Bay/Malate area. It is a 30+ year old property…read morethat is showing its age and is luckily undergoing a renovation this year I was told. Even without the updating, I am having a great stay here as I write this. This brand is not affiliated with any of the global behemoths so there are no loyalty member club perks to be had here. But it seems to be the choice for many of the affluent locals who staycation here or hold parties and wedding functions for its proximity to the Robinson's Mall and surrounding nightlife and bay walk areas. The service here is the star. All staff I encountered were polite and helpful. The rooms and public spaces were clean, comfortable and had many luxury touches if but a bit dated. As an example, there were 6 elevators to service the tower which is great. But they are not synchronized through a single call button so you must push buttons on both sides of the elevator banks to ensure that you are calling all of them simultaneously. There is also signage that prominently displays that the elevators are equipped with an "emergency landing device". WTF is that for?!? After having to sync my own elevator request through multiple buttons, seeing that signage was not exactly confidence inspiring. However, I have had no elevator safety issues and they are set to renovate the elevators later this year. I'm guessing that after that, the idiosyncracies I just described will be a thing of the past. The Exec Club and rooms were also clean, comfortable and dated to look like modern '80s decor. WiFi was plenty fast for road warrior workers. Food and beverage offerings were varied and of good quality. Maybe not over the top quality but totally met my needs. If you need an Exec Club in this area, this is currently the only 4-5 star hotel in this area with one (the Sheraton and the New World hotels next door do not offer them). I would be happy to stay here again on a future visit if in this area of Manila. For sure there are nicer hotels in Manila more representative of true 5 star properties (all are well away from this area) but this one is not too far below those for PI standards. You can definitely do worse in this area, but not much better.

One feature I particularly appreciated was the housekeeping system: there are dedicated buttons by the door for "Do Not Disturb" and "Make Up Room." If housekeeping comes while DND is on, they'll leave a note under the door and happily return later when it's convenient for you. It's a simple but very guest-friendly touch. The lounge bar near the entrance is stunning. The food and drinks are beautifully presented, well-crafted, and feel genuinely premium. The pool is pleasant, and the gym is well-equipped with most of the machines you'd expect, although the gym can feel a little warm at times. My main criticism relates to the Bonvoy Lounge experience. As a Platinum member, I've visited lounges around the world and generally found the policies clear and consistently communicated. During our stay, three of us entered the lounge when no staff member was present at the entrance. After spending several hours there and having breakfast, we were later approached for our room number and one of our rooms was charged ₱1,850 without any prior explanation or warning. There was no signage at the entrance and no information provided while we were inside, which made the situation feel unnecessarily awkward. A clearer communication process would have avoided the confusion entirely. And the price quite absurd for the amount of options (and what we consumed). And champagne or even prosecco would have been a nice. The reception experience was also less polished than the rest of the hotel, which stood out given how excellent the service was elsewhere. As for the location, it wasn't my favorite area for walking. The surroundings felt a little rough around the edges, with uneven sidewalks and a generally older part of Manila feel. I attempted to walk toward the waterfront, but access seemed restricted for much of the route and the walk itself wasn't particularly enjoyable. This isn't the hotel's fault, but it's something visitors should be aware of if they enjoy exploring on foot.

I didn't get to try the breakfast since I had an early flight. However, they were nice enough to pack me a to-go breakfast that was waiting for me when I checked out.
