Check in is effective and we are upgraded to a beautiful suite with Parkview! Reservations for dinner are made and time for us to hit the town! Dinner in a lovely ambience and the waiters are hardly noticed, only when needed they are there in a jiffy. Vegetarian food is lovely and folks: go for the chef's signature dessert, it's killing! Nice local wines. The surroundings of the hotel are great for a stroll or a decent walk. And so nice and quiet for a good night sleep. In Bonn the Beethoven week kept us busy with concerts and visiting the museum. There a lots of markets, and stores (non retail chain) very worth your visit. The wellness environment in the hotel is outstanding, you practically have the place to yourself. Rooms are very nice kept (hooray for house keeping) and provided with all the necessities. It doensn't get any better, people!

A hotel that promises much, and prices itself as a 5 star hotel (though plenty of good deals out of…read moreseason on the room rates). It is comfortable, and the rooms are fairly good - better than the Maritim and other large hotels in the area. onsite sauna/spa and lots of convention rooms. However, it felt really empty (a la "The Shining"), which is probably an indicator that they have their pricing and marketing wrong. Whilst the rooms rates were very reasonable, the restaurant was overpriced - the food was fairly good, aimed at fine dining style, however the menu choice was limited - heavy or heavy food - not much inspiration, and execution was a little off in places (e.g. over salting, over cooking, presentation) which you expect to be far better for the price. Breakfast was not worth 26 euros. If you don't travel there by car, then you will find it difficult to get anywhere local without taxis. Great views at night though, looking down over the river and Bonn skyline. It feels like this hotel is still living off of it's acclaimed history, rather than putting in the effort right now to make the stay as good as it should be. Go if you are travelling by car for either business or pleasure, though factor in the extra costs of the restaurant and bar etc. Don't go if you want to be close to the local attractions/people/etc, or if you are on a budget.

I found this place on the internet looking for accommodation in the Bonn area. It turned out that…read morethe weekend we were coming to Bonn for a wedding, was also the weekend of the worlds largest food trade fair in Cologne called Anuga. Finding rooms in the area was almost impossible so I widened the search and found this place. It's a historical building that housed nuns in the 19th century and has been fully restored and turned into a hotel and golf course. It's a bit of an institution in the area. The rooms are fabulous and big in the old wing. We had a top floor room and there was a bottle of Sekt waiting on arrival. They have a lot of weddings here and the hotel informed us and, gave us ear plugs just in case it was a bit loud. It was nice of them to inform us. The noise level was ok unless you were in the lobby. The restaurants are in a different building and that would have been ok too. There are two restaurants here and, we only tried one for breakfast called the Clostermann. Food was ok nothing special. They have another formal gourmet restaurant here which has 15 Gault & Millaud points but, we did not eat here. The service at breakfast was a bit slow but, the rest of the hotel was excellent service and, very friendly staff. Prices are ok however, this weekend was a fair bit more expensive, due to the trade fair. I would happily come here again. It's a beautiful hotel located in the countryside and, attached to what looked like, a decent golf course. Could be a good spot for a golf holiday :-))

Der Clostermanns Hof ist angegliedert an einen Golfclub und liegt in einer schönen Hofanlage. Etwas…read moreversteckt im hinteren Teil der Hofanlage liegt das Restaurant. Die Lokalität liegt sehr schön mit neu gestaltetem Wintergarten mit modernem Ambiente. Früher gab es an dieser Stelle schon einmal einen Wintergarten am Restaurant der eher rustikal gestaltet und wesentlich kleiner war. Wir waren aktuell dort mit der ganzen Familie. Ich hatte eine Lauchcremesuppe als Tagessuppe und als Hauptgang ein Tartar vom Lachs, angebraten mit Feldsalat. Die Lauchcremesuppe war eine grüne mit Sahne verfeinerte Suppe, mit einer dünnen Scheibe frittierten Toastscheibe mit Tomatenmouse oben auf die Tasse gelegt. Wie man das Essen soll, ohne sich vollzukleckern hat sich der Serive und die Küche keinen Gedanken gemacht. Die Suppe war geschmacklich in Ordnung aber es hätte genauso gut eine Kressesuppe sein gekonnt Lauch habe ich keinen geschmeckt. Als Hauptgang kam dann ein beidseitig angebranntener Tartar-Taler, ca. 7 cm Durchmesser mit Feldsalat. So etwas wird einem normalerweise als Gruss des Hauses serviert, dies einem aber für 18,- zu berechnen, ist unverständlich. Auch kann ich es nicht verstehen, dass man 40 Minuten zum servieren der Tagessuppe braucht. Insgesamt ließ sich die freundliche Servicemannschaft mit dem Service sehr viel Zeit. Wie gesagt, das Ambiente ist schön, aber Service und Angebot können diesen optischen Versprechungen nicht standhalten. Das Restaurant im Clostermanns Hof kann ich deshalb nicht weiterempfehlen.
