Everything. The food and location was excellent. I loved the pool area The staff (Aingeru, Nancy, Ester and Paula) were all friendly and helpful. After my husband lost his cell phone (and we only spoke English) they and the nicest cab driver helped us locate it. We will return and o my stay here

Nice morning view from the room

This was stop #1 on our 3-week Euro trip. We really enjoyed the location and proximity to popular landmarks like Las Ramblas. Concierge was incredibly nice and suggested a few local eateries. The space itself wasn't too small for a Euro hotel. It was modern, clean, and features a rooftop deck with pool and lounge chairs. The only thing that may bother people is that homelessness is prevalent Barcelona. There is one man who calls the front of this hotel "home." However, he is harmless and keeps to himself, so it should be an issue. We booked last minute using Hotel Tonight and were pleased with how it turned out. It was cheaper than booking directly with the hotel

    Moldy growth in bathroom

Certainly a good location and a clean facade. But look close enough and you'll see that the hotel is in need of refreshing. Case in point this black growth in the bathroom. I also found the staff at the front desk to be rather rude and unhelpful. That said, the AC was cold and the room clean enough.

The bar soap provided is super tiny; bring your own!

This is a beautiful property with a modern, luxurious feel. For those of you who want a more American style hotel when you travel to Europe, this fits the bill. You will pay for this comfort, however, since the rates here are pretty high. Overall, this is a fantastic hotel. The location is wonderful and you are steps away from some of Barcelona's best restaurants and tapas bars, the metro and train station, and some of the city's most picturesque streets. The hotel is in a very safe area and we walked around the area all hours of the day and night with no problems. The hotel's security is top-notch with a full-time guard in the lobby and security cameras around the property. The staff was fantastic and multilingual. When we arrived early and our room wasn't ready, they stored our luggage safely and securely. I can't say enough about the wonderful and professional staff; everyone we encountered was extremely helpful and friendly. The air conditioning was FABULOUS and our room was kept icy cold on the hottest days. In fact, we had to turn off the a/c a few times since the room got so chilly. As you can read in my other reviews over the years, having a good a/c unit is very important to me and this hotel kept me nice and cool (this would be a great hotel for the sweltering summertime). Other great perks included an in-room towel warmer, in-room safe, in-room refrigerator, on-site restaurant, and free wireless internet! The rooms have a sleek, modern design. They are extremely well appointed and well laid out. The rooms are small compared to U.S. hotels, but they are comfortable. The room felt brand new and was extremely clean. The room has nice faux-wood floors and a very large bathroom (complete with toilet and bidet). The shower made for an interesting experience as it didn't have a door or curtain, just a very small glass partition that resulted in water getting all over the place. The hotel provided a very nice in-room toiletry kit with a razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, bath gel, shampoo / conditioner and soap. The soap bar was super tiny so you might want to bring your own. I really cannot think of any complaints or warnings about this hotel. It was simply fantastic.

Location Location Location Hotel Jazz is conveniently located near everything that a tourist like me would have wanted. Closed to all major Metro Lines Steps away from Aerobus Stop at Plaza Catalunya Closed to La Rambla Walkable to a lot of tourist sights and restaurants The room I stayed in was well appointed and spacious! Highly recommended especially if you get a good price like me due to off season.

Found a great deal on Booking.com. So I booked it right away! Stayed 8 nights i July and had a great time. Hotel Jazz is located just between Placa Catalunya and Universitat. So you have both subway stations just around the corner. And it's two different lines so you have lots of possibilities to smoothly go where you want. For example if you like to go to El Born, just take the subway two stations two Arc de Triomf or to the beach, take the subway to Barceloneta. Walking distance to Las Ramblas is 3 minutes. (If you like to hang around the other millions of tourists..) But walking distance to all the other cosy streets and areas in central Barcelona. So the location is in my opinion perfect. We took the Aerobus from the airport. Get off at station Universitat. Then it's like 200 meters to the hotel. The hotel was a pleasant surprise! It has only 3 stars, but I think it deserves 4 stars. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious. We had the cheapest room. But it had a huge double bed, large bathroom with bathtub/shower, minibar, AC that worked perfectly and quietly. Safetybox, flatscreen TV on the wall over desk and decent wardrobe space. Breakfast was included in our deal and it was good. Nothing extra, but different juices, cereal and yogurts, bread, toast with salami, jamon, cheese, eggs, bacon, sausage, lots of sweet cakes. You could get omelettes on order. We never tried it though. The best thing with the Hotel Jazz is the rooftop bar/lounge with poolarea. Pool (not olympic size, but ok for cooling down or swimming a couple of meters up and down) with good amount of sunbeds. During the day it's often very quiet and still. Perfect if you don't want to go the crowded beach and worry about thieves stealing your stuff while your in the water.. Lots of shaded lounge sofas and comfy chairs. Bar with bar menu open from 12pm late night. Toilets and outdoor shower. We spent most of our days here before heading out for late lunch or down to the beach. Free wi-fi in the Hotel area. Worked pretty good! Staff in the reception very helpful and speaks good english. But girl with glasses and blond ponytail working at the rooftop bar... should get another job and not work with service! Slowest person alive and on top of that, rude and not nice! But despite of her, can really recommend staying at Jazz! Will return.

Beautiful, well-appointed building, lobby sitting areas, restaurant, etc. Staff were friendly and very accommodating with bag storage, delivering bags to our room before we returned, restaurant recommendations and more. The rooftop is big with pool, bar and a number of seating areas for a 360 view of the city. Relaxing place to sit with a drink. Spa in basement is nice with all amenities. You have to reserve use and it's capped at 30 mins. Rooms are decent size allowing for suitcases and still moving around room. Bathroom is clean and has everything needed including heated towel rack and bidet. Although robes weren't included we found some at spa we used for the remainder of our trip. Lobby is very spacious and comfy, and there is live music in Thur-Sun. Great place to relax with a drink after exploring all day. Breakfast was extensive and a nice start to each day. Included made to order as well as plenty of ready made options for all palettes. The Not as Good We reserved both a superior and classic room but couldn't tell the difference for an additional 130 euros. The front desk said the superior had "more light." Potentially but not sure that was described as difference for what we paid. The rooms lack power outlets. Nothing by bedside. USB by desk but no USB-C or Int'l plugs. We had phones plugged in behind chairs, tea kettle sitting on floor, laptop in bathroom... The subway is underneath the hotel and even though we're on the 4th floor it was loud with lots of vibration. We had Do Not Disturb on for our entire trip but staff entered regardless and made up room. Not a big deal but surprised us and meant we had to put our belongings away every time we left not knowing who would enter when. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would come back but many hotels we passed by looked like good options as well.

TLDR: Come for the rooftop views of Barcelona, not so much for the stay…read more While Barceló Raval's rooftop offers one of the best panoramic views of Barcelona, the hotel itself is giving knockoff of the W. They try to give off that sexy, mysterious vibe, but as soon as you step into the room, the green ceiling, cheap fixtures and damask wallpaper give it away. The hotel is reasonably "affordable" for its location (near the Gothic Quarter and La Barceloneta), but definitely in a sketchy area. I highly advise walking outside the hotel at night, as you'll find the rough crowds your parents warned you about. The nearest metro station is about a 10-minute walk, and to get there, you have to cut through some of the sketchiest alleys. I booked through Expedia and was upgraded to a room with a view, a bottle of mini wine & an extra bottle of water. My amenities weren't so great from the moment I opened the door. Since my room was pretty high up, the room was stifling & those views were blocked by a stainless steel mesh. FYI: your room requires a key card at all times if you're trying to use electricity, which includes air conditioning. The shower initially felt luxurious--spacious with a giant waterfall head and solid water pressure--followed by lush bath towels, but that impression faded once I noticed the pockets of mold and grime in the corners. Sleeping was also a challenge since walls are thin and anytime the guests next to me entered their room, it sounded like someone was entering mine, which kept me paranoid and on high alert. Rooftop: the rooftop not only offers panoramic views of Barcelona, but also has a bar and pool, though hard to even suggest the pool is an amenity since it's more so for aesthetic than functionality. On the roof, it's not an open floor plan, so you'll have to walk around the building to get a full 360 view. For those who are height deficient such as myself: prepare for obstructed views because of the high railings (great for safety, but not so much for those under 5'3).

I booked a signature room through my travel agent, and was delighted that they allowed me to check in a couple of hours early AND upgraded me to a signature balcony room. The hotel is very cute snd colorful, with modern design. The room was clean and pretty spacious, and the balcony was such a nice touch! I liked opening the windows every afternoon and sitting on the chaise and reading. There are refillable water stations on each floor by the elevator, which was a small but big perk to me. Awesome water pressure and temperature, kind, attentive service by staff, and incredible rooftop bar made this a fun place to kick off my stay in Spain. Small gripes: As a short person was the bathroom tub was a bit tall for me to climb into and out of. There was not a true fridge/freezer in the room; the staff was kind enough to store something in their freezer for me but it felt too out of my way to ask them to do it too often for me. The lobby bar drinks were fine but nothing to write home about. Overall though this is such a great hotel and I'd absolutely stay here again. It feels luxe but had very reasonable rates, even right after Easter which is peak tourism. The rooftop bar is very much worth a visit, beautiful views of the city and a fun, lively vibe. I cannot recommend this hotel more!

I had thought having our hotel in this area would have been a mistake, knowing about the pickpocketing and protests from locals regarding tourists. Yet I found it so convenient to many attractions within walking distance, just a block away from the metro station, souvenirs in the shops, with late night spots if you're hungry, and being close to a few markets. The room was spacious and modern. We slept well in their comfortable king bed. We were given slippers and a bathrobe along with the typical amenities like hair dryer, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. There was even a bathroom scale! Something I rarely see in hotel rooms these days. Our package deal included breakfast at their daily buffet. And it's one of the better buffets that actually has a made-to-order-eggs table. I love that there's a personal chef for those who like their eggs a certain way. They had many Spanish cured meats, cheeses, fruits, salads, pastries and bread, cold cereals, yogurts, coconut chia seed pudding, churros and chocolate (though it was not like a churros shop), and even congee, blended smoothies and power green drinks as well as fresh squeezed juices. We were impressed to see a few different items changed on a daily basis to keep the buffet fresh and new. I liked it better than the buffet we had in Madrid, despite it having a better hotel rating. The front desk staff was super helpful when we needed a family metro pass for 8 trips verses getting an unnecessary unlimited pass. That saved us money! She directed us to the metro station up the block and had us buy a family T pass. This was only €12. You would scan and let one person go through first while keeping the pass to scan yourself in. You can scan multiple times because it is for a group and not an individual pass. If I visit Barcelona again, I wouldn't hesitate coming back to Le Méridien! It was perfect for all our needs!

Fortunately, it was also a sunday, so the streets were very empty. It took about 15 minutes for the taxi to arrive, but it was easy to get out of the narrow streets. The hotel itself is nice. Check-in is on the mezzanine level. Our room wasn't ready, but they were able to store our bags. We grabbed lunch at the rooftop restaurant and the food was objectively decent. The main draw of the rooftop restaurant is the incredible view where you can see all of Barcelona and the towering cathedrals. Service was friendly. On a different day, we tried there spritz hour, which seemed to be marketed as two spritzes for €12. However, we each got charged €12 which I think was the price on the menu anyway so I don't know what happened there. The hotel room was cozy. Bed was very comfortable. The layout was a bit odd if you imagine that the room is a U-shape, the bed is the bottom of the U, which makes sense. However the bathroom was split up with the toilet on the right side and the sink and shower on the left side so after you use the bathroom, you would have to walk to the other side of the hotel room to wash your hands. It's not like the room is big, but it's just kind of odd for layout, especially if like luggage is dispersed across the room and you have to walk through all that.
