It's a no-frills hotel on the lake with the most impossibly kind management I've ever encountered. Bravissimo.

Here is the honest truth. My fiancé and I vacationed in Italy and had stumbled across hotel Parco…read moreBelevedere. I booked it the night before thinking it was close to lake como which turned out was the opposite side of the lake. Although it was a mistake, I felt it was a great score. Here is the pro and con - Pro: Beautiful views Great dinner menu Great breakfast selection Family run -kind hearted family Taxi boat or bus can take you to como and other lakes Steal of price compared to como price Rooms are clean, cute patio area...depends on room Con: Far away from lake and tourist activities No food served for lunch (only breakfast or dinner) Not as easy to get to by foot, taxi must take you to train station or taxi boat It's definitely not the easiest to get to but once you're there you get an amazing welcome of fresh air, infinite lake view and mountains. I remember opening my door and I took a nice deep breath because the air smelled so clean and fresh. Our check in was simple. We were greeted, received room keys and we were sent to our room. Room was all white, white sheets, walls, bathroom and all was white. If compared to other hotels we have stayed at if felt like one of cleanest. Italian Hotels are questionable but this hotel didn't have that feeling. One cloudy morning after breakfast we had the son call for a taxi to take us to the train station. Dad overheard and offered to take us to the train station. Dad and mom was very sweet to drive us to the train station in Lecco. We stayed a few days and was offered both days of our stay. Their kindness is very much appreciated. The Dad was so fatherly he also offered an umbrella because it was cloudy outside. My fiancé offered to pay for it but dad said to keep it- of course we brought it back. We took a bus to the lake, approx 1 hour arrival to other side of lake. You can also take a taxi boat to get to other side if you prefer. Another great thing to note is dinner is only served at 7. This is their standard at most hotels in Italy... please know to eat before then. Dinner menu has great variety of dishes, my favorite was the sea bass and peeled shrimp and be sure to eat the pineapples with shrimp it helps to neutralize the food so you won't feel so bloated. Do try their house wine...a must. ;) If you're not an expert like myself of what is good just ask and they'll be happy to recommend a great one. Breakfast was sweet. From what I remembered there was pancakes, cereal, fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee or expesso. It was a great selection :) I ate cereal. Our departure- The son was also so kind to send us away with a lovely bottle of wine, which we will gladly enjoyed later. Last note Amazing hotel and family, when we return hotel Parco is first on our list Congrats again with your anniversary mom and dad and best wishes to your newly married son :) Thanks again !! We appreciate your superb hospitality Grazie Mille! Robert, Tina

Complementary beverage while checking in and awaiting bags to be delivered to our room. Our room had a wonderful view and was nice and spacious. We loved the amenities the hotel had to offer. Outside the pool area is wonderful with a breathtaking view of the lake. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub and used it daily. We also enjoyed lunch by the pool and many spritz's from the pool bar. Be warned, the pool is not heated if you are there in the spring time! The staff were so nice and always greeted us when we returned the next day. The spa is also incredible, with many free to use experiences such as an ice room, salt room, sauna and more! We also loved breakfast every morning at the hotel with the incredible view. Another wonderful part of this hotel is the location. It is less than a 10 minute walk down to the city center and I would prefer to stay here for the view over a hotel near the lake in town. I hope to return to Bellagio again and I will stay at Hotel Belvedere again!
After traveling to 80 countries and all seven continents over the past five decades, our 2023 stay…read moreat Hotel Belvedere on Lake Como made it very clear that this is now our favorite hotel in the world! Don't let the four stars deceive you, because this is a five-star accommodation all the way! The views of Lake Como are stunning on the eastern slope of this unnamed peninsula that pierces the lake like an arrow, especially from the outdoor deck above the pool. The rooms are so elegant and modern, the rain showers are huge, and the views from our massive patio in the Junior Suite were breathtaking. Cascading down the hill on the hotel property are numerous plateaus of well manicured lawns, sculpted bushes, and beautiful flowers. You're in close proximity to the action of bustling downtown Bellagio, but secluded just far enough for total peace and quiet at the hotel. Situated in the shadow of a hill just to the north owned by The Rockefeller Foundation, with the mountainous terrain as a buffer between the town center and this lovely property, the serenity makes you feel far from the city that's a mere 5-minute walk away. It is the optimal location in Bellagio! The spa is extensive, a facility at which we took full advantage of a thorough, hour-long massage that vastly improves circulation. The staff is incredibly courteous and well trained. But it's many of the little things they do at Hotel Belvedere that make it such a great place to stay. To offer several examples, the luxurious array of body washes and lotions are noteworthy, the larger trashcans without lids uncommon in most hotel rooms are much easier to navigate, the breakfast is one of the best we've ever had, and the room service food is so good you might want to have your nightly dinners in your room. While breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m., we had to depart at 7:00 on the final morning to catch a ferry. So the staff composed four takeout boxes for the two of us with a wonderful selection of breakfast foods. It was kindness that goes above and beyond. Of our 46 years of international travel, this is the ultimate hotel for us!

I was in Bellagio for Asif A.'s wedding, and the day before the wedding, Eric R. and others were canyoneering and rappelling. Asif A. told me this is his favorite restaurant in Bellagio, so I joined him for lunch with four others. We sat on the patio and my seat was right next to the water. The server was very patient and friendly. We ordered a half liter of white wine and appetizers of caprese and bresaola. The bresaola also came with pork (oops...) but I focused on the unbelievable mozarella in the caprese salad. I ordered the gnocchi with flame roasted octopus and baby olives. It was pure heaven - the gnocchi tasted like pillows of angels or something. I now know why gnocchi is so hot on Top Chef because it tastes nothing like the packaged stuff I am used to in the U.S. The place is known for lake fish, so Asif A. ordered perch with curry and rice, and I tasted it - wow! David W. shared with me smoked trout from his salad, which was similar to nova. David S. ate some of mine but did not share his duck - I did take a picture of his dish though, as it looked delicious! Robin B. had the sea bass and it definitely looked good (special of the day). The whole menu sounded good and I would definitely have returned if I stayed longer. We had leftover bread at the end of the meal so the server told me to feed it to the birds in the lake. I tossed bread for the ducks and swans, a fun way to end the meal. The setting was gorgeous and I am so glad I was able to discover this hidden gem.
