Well... food, service, location, atmosphere... basically everything. Food is delicately prepared, very tasty and well presented. At this point it is more than food, it's almost art. Wine list is very complete. Waiters and waitress were extremely friendly, helpful and listening to our needs. And the Hotel Eden is well-named: extremely cozy atmosphere, will an astonishing view. Definitely one of my favorite places in the Chamonix Valley.

We've gone to the restaurant a couple of times this winter. The Maya Guesthouse is brand new and absolutely lovely. Its a green establishment, with power generated from the heat from a pizza oven in the restaurant as well as from solar panels. The restaurant is intimate and with an elegant, chalet feel. The owners are friendly and easily engage in conversation with patrons. Nax is a little over 2 hours, by car, from Geneva. It sits in mountains to the south of Sion, the capital of the Valais Canton. Its an absolutely beautiful part of the world and incredibly relaxing. Both Nax and the Maya Guesthouse are well worth the trip.

We had a family suite, which had an area with a king size bed, a separated area with a bunk bed for the kids, toilet in a separated room and ample bathroom with bath tube. It was perfect for us, very spacious and comfortable. On the roof top there was a spa, with a couple of saunas, a heated pool, jacuzzi and beautiful view of the city and the alps. The second morning all I heard was banging which I assumed was the two other rooms where our doors are all inches apart. I finally turned and a large man was standing at my bedside. I was so terrified I screamed out. The man left the room and the cleaning woman stood apologizing, her English being very poor. I called downstairs and spoke to Ali the manager. Calmly I tried to explain what had happened. He told me he was aware and gave several excuses. 1. The sign to not disturb wasn't on the door. Not true. 2. I didn't lock the door. Untrue. That's why they brought the maintenance man in to open the door. 3. They were worried about me. Not true. It was 9 am and I had neither been drinking or making any kind of noise the previous night or ever. What shocked me most was they could not accept how frightening this could be for a woman alone. I was asked by the manager Ali --"May I ask, why are you so upset? I was trying to stress that the man should never enter the room first and alone. To which I was told "you're a strong woman, why are you frightened?" It felt surreal. The assistant Dylan also lacked any sense of empathy or ownership. I was told "ok, this is over now, you are safe, no need to worry." And got up and walked away. I spoke with the travel agent who contacted the hotel and was told "the issue was resolved" They said it was resolved and so then the issue was resolved. It was not resolved for me. The hotel bed was insanely hard. I used the bed cover on top of the mattress to soften it and make it sleepable. Never, under any circumstances would I recommend this hotel. I had to give it one star as mandated by YELP

They upgraded our room upon arrival, gave great recommendations and directions, and were extremely helpful throughout our stay. The hotel bar and restaurant are also great!

There is a great kitchen, bar, spa, and numerous other facilities. Housekeeping is superb. There is always someone making sure each and every guest is well cared for. The property is clise to the Hellbroner Teleferic which makes it very convenient for mountaineering. It is about a half hour walk down to the village of Courmayeur. But the hotel offers a shuttle if preferred.

During our stay in January the line was closed due for safety reason, but the front was well informed on operation hours. The spa was lovely and is included in the hotel stay. The indoor pool is a perfect temperature and the ice bath is an interesting experience. My favorite part of the hotel was the well informed and passionate restaurant. The pairing of flavors and I tasted the best French wine with the hosts recommendation. I'd love to visit again.
