We usually visit this city twice a year and decided to stay at this hotel Amaragua, expecting a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, it fell short of our expectations in many ways.
The Good:
The breakfast was a highlight, offering a great variety of options, including freshly made smoothies and omelettes.
Dinner was equally impressive, with a good range of dishes to choose from, well-prepared and tasty.
The Not So Good:
The pool area was always crowded, and it was difficult to secure a hammock or sunbed.
You're required to pay a €10 deposit for a towel, which is fair, but what was frustrating was the extra charge every time you wanted to exchange it for a clean one.
The Worst: We booked a double superior room with a front sea view, expecting comfort and quality, but what we got was far from it. The room felt like something out of a horror movie--on the second floor but felt like the first. The walls were yellowed and stained, giving the whole place a dirty, run-down feel. The bed was uneven, making it nearly impossible to get a good night's sleep. To make matters worse, there was a loose socket with exposed wires hanging out of the wall, which was a serious safety concern.
We brought these issues to the attention of the reception staff, hoping to move to a better room. However, they told us it wasn't worth it because all the rooms were in a similar state, which was incredibly disappointing. The room looked nothing like the photos on the hotel website, and the overall quality was shocking for the price.
Overall: Our stay at Amaragua was far from enjoyable, and the price-to-quality ratio was poor. Unless you have no other option and don't mind compromising on comfort and safety, I wouldn't recommend staying here read more
