SUMMARY: Central location with small, clean rooms. Weak A/C. Excellent breakfast!
FULL STORY:
The hotel is located on a side street (mainly pedestrian, but did see a few cars come through) near the Ramblas area. So it's central, but still relatively quiet.
Lobby has 2 small seating sections (the best cooled area of the hotel if it's summer), and they greet you with cold water and sweets. The staff was quite helpful when it came to questions within the hotel (e.g., renting adapters, fixing small issues in the room). They don't really offer concierge services. Free wifi was pretty good during our stay.
Rooms were really small, but clean and organized. A room with 2 beds is 2 twin or full size beds pushed together. You could probably move them a few inches apart, but not much more space than that. Beds were really comfortable, linens were nice and everything seemed well-maintained. Housekeeping was great. Recommend a room with a balcony! Great view and very relaxing.
One issue in the summer is that the A/C, even on full speed, wasn't quite enough to keep the room cool in 85F+ weather.
There's a nespresso maker and a few capsules with whatever you'd need to make a decent cup of coffee or tea. Recommend stopping by the little grocery store directly across the street for water bottles.
One of the highlights was the excellent breakfast. Freshly-ground coffee, mix-your-own granola with nuts, seeds, and dried fruits, tasty cheeses, fresh fruit, lots of types of breads with a large toaster ovens, ingredients for tomato bread with choices of olive oil blend and fresh pepper, pastries, fresh tomatoes, several juices, house-bottled smoothies, etc etc... even a little kid's section down low! The best hotel breakfast I've ever had.
Note: Some taxis will pull up to the hotel, others drop you off 2-3 blocks away at a corner because it's a pedestrian area... check Google maps! read more
