Visitors from the U.S. will want to know that there is no air-conditioning in the sleeping rooms, but the conference rooms do have it. As well, the wifi signal was inadequate from my first room in the 160 hallway. However, the staff cheerfully moved me to a room closer in proximity to the lobby where the wireless signal was flawless I can't say enough about the breakfasts. What an amazing spread, and in the European style that I've grown to like so much. There is plenty of variety, and I wish hotels in the States would adopt some of the Euro-style dishes and serve them here. Breakfast was a high-point, and I was up early for it each morning. The Villa Toscana is a very nice hotel, and you won't go wrong putting it on your short list of possible places to stay when visiting the Heidelberg area.

We made our way here whilst on our European Vacation tour where we spent 1 night on our way to Heideleberg. First of all this is by no means a 4 star hotel and deserves a 1-2 star rating at best. The hotel has only 1 lift that makes transporting luggage up and down a nightmare especially when a tour bus comes in and everybody wants to get on fast. The room is basic at best, a tiny shower stall, no air-conditioning especially during the hot Summer months, no frill mattresses, and paper thin walls. Internet had to be requested and that too was slow at best. There is a restaurant and bar onsite that was more for drinks than food. We decided to walk towards the train station and venture to a lovely find just a couple of blocks away for a late night dinner at the Capri Restaurant for amazing thin-crust pizza. There are plenty of other Hotels on the area if you are planning to stay outside of Frankfurt on a budget.

The staff was friendly and professional. The wifi was fast! The room was small but nice and modern. They brought in a small bed for our daughter. Lots of toiletries and towels. Breakfast was amazing. They kept the food coming and the waiters quickly removed plates from the tables. It was a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Check out the next day was also pleasant. We had a wonderful experience and loved this hotel.

I thought that the location was perfect and true to German hotels, even if you are alone, the beds are comfortable and comes with two bed spread. Now why haven't we Americans figured this out yet? If you are sharing a bed, you should still use your own comforter. That's probably one of my favorite impressions about the German hotels. Separate beds, pushed together, separate comforters. I bet you'd have fewer divorces if you implemented that in the States. Internet is free of course. The hotel is convinently situated in the center, so you can walk to everything including the beautiful Luisenpark, which is HUGE! I loved the walk about and the boat ride in the park. Imagine staying in a hotel that is within walking distance to it. Another good part about the hotel is its easy access to the river, there are two and you can turn right and then right and you'd be right by the running path. No matter how you look at it, this is a great hotel. I would love to come back and stay here.

Right out the door is the Alten Brücke (Old Bridge) with a bunch of options for food and beverage. Within a couple of days, we felt like we were becoming a part of the neighborhood, hanging out @ the coffee shop, getting gelato after dinner, having some meals and bier while sitting out on the street watching people @ Vetters or Hackteufel. The food @ the restaurant which is quaint and charming was fresh and tasty as well. Thank you for taking care of these 2 high maintenance Americans.

the Goldenes Lamm is conveniently located in the middle of Dudenhofen, which is a town right…read moreoutside the lovely city of Speyer. overall, it is an excellent value, with comfortable beds in average-sized rooms. bathrooms are ensuite, and there is a spacious elevator along with stairs. as is common with many hotels, be aware that the Lamm does not have air-conditioning. they provide a small fan in each room; however, even when the hotel is not fully booked and temperatures are record-breaking, they refuse to provide any extra fans for guests. this one-fan-per-room rule is the reason i have to dock a star; hospitality is the #1 job of a hotel and taking care of guests' comfort should take precedence over policy. the hotel features some nice touches; for example a "good night box" in each room with a handmade lavender sachet, earplugs, and gummi bears. self-serve coffee and fruit is available in the lobby. the included breakfast buffet is quite nice; the food is artfully presented, and the eggs are made to order! the tea service is especially well-done. other pluses are a common room with a refrigerator divided into private compartments -- simply get a key at the desk and you can store your own food! there is also bike parking in the lot across the street in a secure, well-lit shed. and if you need a bike, there are reasonable rentals available of both regular and e-bikes, including for families with young kids.
