The piazza has plenty of restaurants & shops, although a bit touristy (we were still able to find delicious Nero davola wine, and local dishes at I Leone). Walking a couple blocks radius further away from the piazza brought us to more local bakeries, cafes, and restaurants. My husband and I booked this room for 1 night in order to be close to the Palermo airport (Terrasini is only 13k away) at the end of our Sicily trip, and it turned out to be a gem! Also included were small fridge in the room, TV, AC, soap/shampoo, towels, hairdryer, wardrobe, & dresser. There is a small, clean shared kitchen down the hall. The owner was very friendly and available, check in starts nice & early (12:30pm), and checking out earlier than requested was not a problem.

Claudia, the invariably cheerful manager, was helpful and efficient with all requests. In the month's running up to our stay, she quickly made changes based upon our scheduling needs. Ample balconies allow you harbor views, including of the old fort. The hotel's outdoor patio gets you close to the water. Breakfasts were wonderful, too, with lots of choices and a cheerful barista who made coffees to order. Castelmare di Golfo has transformed itself into a destination...and remains close to dozens of interested sites and towns.
