The rooms are great - not fancy - but spacious with good sized bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent and very relaxed. There's a very peaceful lounge area if you're into hanging out in the bad weather. And the restaurant, while a little on the hot side, is outstanding. Excellent food, wonderful service. Great hiking opportunities in the area. Don't miss the gondola rides - there are 4 of them. When we arrived, the checkin process was easy and the receptionist helped us bring our luggage to our room. I enjoyed our room and the view was amazing even though we didn't purchase the room with the better view. I enjoyed the breakfast. The server will come to you and ask if you want any coffee or tea. The breakfast is the same daily with some slight changes. I didn't mind that because I loved it! I wish that they offered a lunch or dinner buffet option. We ended up doing room service for dinner and it was quite pricey. We did enjoy the burgers that we order. I also like how the room cleaners would clean the rooms and refill the fridge everyday. The mini bar is free and they offer soda, water, and ice tea. We enjoyed the view and everything. I just think that the people who took photos for the resort or at the resort made it look better than what I experienced. I did really enjoy it, but it looked more amazing in pictures.

When we arrived, we were greeted by Frederick, who showed us to our rooms and gave us some recommendations for things to do over the weekend. Our room was fabulous-- we stayed in one of the panoramic view rooms. I will say that we spent very little time in our room as there were so many neat spaces to enjoy in the hotel. We spent quite a bit of time in the spa and in the pool, and if you are visiting, these are both a must-do while staying at the hotel. It was surprisingly quiet during our trip-- there were times when the pool was a busier but it was still enjoyable. Given the picturesque landscape, we were delighted not to be surrounded by people getting in the pool just to take "influencer" photos. The food was incredible. We dined in the restaurant on our first night which is when the black angus entrecôte and accompanying hollandaise stole our hearts. So much so that we cancelled our dinner reservations out in town for the second night to try other things on the menu. The ribs, the ribeye, the Aranchini, the mac, babaghanoush, the broccolini, the cheesecake... it was all so delicious. Straightforward flavors, fantastic food. Service provided by Vincenzo and Patrick was also wonderful. You can get a good drink anywhere, but it takes a special kind of hospitality to turn a drink into an experience. Bartender (and in our opinion, genius mixologist) of the Axe Bar, Phillip, made us a variety of experimental cocktails based on our tastes and it was an epic time. We came for one drink and ended up staying for quite a few. We truly enjoyed chatting with him, as well as the other bartenders Miguel and Kevin. My husband and I are the kind of people who usually end a trip early, because we'd always prefer to be home. This place made us wish we could stay another night, or even two. The location is perfect for Mürren, with sweeping views from the rooms and the open patio, where meals can be served. They have the towns only coin-operated laundry service, which is a big bonus for travelers coming from other places. This is open to the public, so sometimes there is a wait to use the machines. Some room packages come with free breakfast, which offers a delightful section of breads, cheeses, fresh fruit, and sliced deli meats. Anyone coming to the Bernese Oberland area should seriously consider a stay at the Hotel Bellevue in Mürren. You won't be disappointed!

As soon as you step into the back patio you are blown away at the setting. Find yourself a little table and grab a brew from the bar inside (which in-and-of itself was fantastically old school tavern/inn). If you're hungry they have brats and kraut served outside. Wonderful! Order a beer, pay in cash (trust me, it just feels more fun), and enjoy a beer in the perfect spot in Jungfraur region.

The back deck has a wonderful view of the mountains as you enjoy your breakfast, lunch and dinner. The owners are so nice, the food is home cooked and they brew and excellent dark beer! The Pension is just a 30-45 minute beautiful walk to Murren or a quick ride up the lift. All around you can enjoy wonderful eating and some of the most scenic hikes in Switzerland. This place has shared bathrooms and large bedrooms. Great for hikers, skiers, and tourists. I would highly recommend this cozy and beautiful hotel for anyone!

Easy walk from the town and the other station for the tram to the valley. Breakfast was included with our stay and the spread was impressive. As an engineer, I'm always focused on what can be improved so let's begin with the bad list: (1) No lift or elevator so if you're elderly, handicapped, or injured it won't be much fun. (2) There's no air conditioning so our room was uncomfortable in the 81°F temperature. There are no fans in the rooms and no window screens to keep bugs out so there aren't many options out there to stay cool. (3) The 220 volt switches that controlled the light fixture and exhaust fan in the bathroom were located within the shower stall. There's no planet in our solar system where that would be considered safe as these are not GFCI protected circuits. (4) Some of the 220 volt receptacles in our room had wall plates that would spin which made it difficult to plug into. (5) The filter on our bathroom exhaust fan revealed a lack of maintenance. (6) My room included a chain smoker on the next balcony over so I was unable to enjoy any time on the balcony. There were good things too but just not enough to elevate us out of the 2-star rating: (1) The views from the mountain side were stunning but we mainly have God to thank for that rather than the hotel. (2) The bacon cheeseburgers in the restaurant were very good although expensive. (3) The staff were kind, friendly, helpful, and skilled.

We've gone to the restaurant a couple of times this winter. The Maya Guesthouse is brand new and absolutely lovely. Its a green establishment, with power generated from the heat from a pizza oven in the restaurant as well as from solar panels. The restaurant is intimate and with an elegant, chalet feel. The owners are friendly and easily engage in conversation with patrons. Nax is a little over 2 hours, by car, from Geneva. It sits in mountains to the south of Sion, the capital of the Valais Canton. Its an absolutely beautiful part of the world and incredibly relaxing. Both Nax and the Maya Guesthouse are well worth the trip.

Waking up to those mountain views is a dream, and the convenience of being right in Mürren makes exploring the area super easy. That said, the front desk experience left something to be desired. The woman working during our stay was noticeably curt, and even simple requests (like borrowing a pen or asking about hotel logistics) felt like a major inconvenience. It didn't ruin the trip by any means, but it did put a damper on the overall hospitality experience.

It also includes your choice of coffee drink. We tried the half board one night and I would have to say it was just ok. Nothing special. One thing I liked about hotel is that they have a golf cart and took our luggage down to the train station for us in the morning. Overall, I would recommend the hotel. It is simple, the rooms are small but fine, and the breakfast is very good.

I read every review on every site for every hotel…read morein the area and we decided on Bernerhof because another review had mentioned that they were sweet to them when they had their elopement there. We stayed at Bernerhof for four nights with our entire family (10 adults, 4 children), and they were so accommodating. The breakfast spread is delicious and filling, the front desk staff is so friendly, and the location truly cannot be beat. We've traveled all over the world and the views from the Bernerhof hotel balcony are hands down the best. They're located in the center of town, just a short walk from the gondola up to Oeschinensee, and easy access to anywhere else in town, including the transit stops. Traveling overseas was a bit challenging for the little ones in our group, but the Bernerhof has a children's playroom and they were so so sweet to the children even when they were a little rambunctious. Staying at the Bernerhof felt like staying with family, just with really fancy and comfortable accommodations. They went above and beyond to make our stay in Kandersteg memorable and they made our micro wedding extra special with all of their thoughtful touches and customizations - our trip and wedding would not have been the same without them. I cannot recommend the Bernerhof highly enough - thank you again to Claudia and Gerhard and the entire staff for a stay of a lifetime!
