The breakfast was awesome!! It had everything - fruit and yogurt bar, pastry bar, assorted cereals and oatmeal, eggs, sausages, cappuccino machine, etc. The room was a good size with plenty of storage area for clothes and luggage. The bathroom had a really narrow bathtub so when showering, I found myself always sliding. They should just remove the tub and install walk-in showers. Also, no facecloths or hair conditioner. They use that 3 in 1 soap, shampoo, conditioner stuff. Fortunately, I had my own. But no facecloth. One thing I was pleasantly surprised by - the way the hotel is laid out, there is a large Zen Garden in the courtyards that separate the two sides of the hotel. You can't enter the garden, but the walls of large windows still give you a sense of tranquility. Every time I walked by, I just breathed a little more deeply and easily. The one thing I didn't appreciate - my stay was arranged and prepaid through AAA. When I wanted to leave a day early (and I gave MORE than 24 hours' notice), they refused to refund the day's charge. Something about "commission." I don't care about commissions. If I give over 24 hours' notice, I expect a refund. So I'll look to AAA about that.

I am very impressed with this hotel and cannot say enough positive things about it…read more First of all, I booked this hotel while on the road. We needed a place to stay as close as possible to Burg Frankenstein that was pet friendly since our dog sitter flaked on us at the last possible minute so we did not expect to take them with us and stay overnight. Secondly, I accidentally booked for a random Friday in December instead of tonight and I could not cancel it because it was a special rate. So when we arrived, we had little time to spare to enjoy our VIP tickets to the Burg Frankenstein Halloween event. Luckily the front desk woman called her colleage and arranged a room for us with our two puppies. She also managed to fix our wrong booking and cancelled it without penalty. We enjoyed the Halloween event and came back to our room and discovered we had craftmatic adjustable beds! What a huge plus since they just looked like the standard european beds which are awful for our backs. We played with them and found some good settings which were independent of each other so we had an excellent nights sleep with no back pain. In the morning we went to breakfast and was very surprised by the huge breakfast buffet! It was standard european cold cuts, bread, cereals but also had a lot of choices of yogurt, cheese, meat and warm scrambled eggs and cumbert cheese fried. It was delicious. The service was excellent and we enjoyed their zen garden eating area. Although there is a lack of parking, this place was definitely worth the money and we will be staying here again when we come back next Halloween. Thank you staff! They all speak excellent English and have a very good attitude. Another reason this hotel is great is because of all the things you get for free: FREE wireless internet, FREE breakfast (which is very good!), FREE laundry even. We wanted to do some laundry, asked the maid how to do it (the brochure said we can use their laundry machines), and she did it for us! That's what I call service. I've had a few minor problems such as one morning there was no hot water, but that can happen anywhere. When I arrived this time in July, I thought I had booked a double but they reserved a single for me. This might have been my mistake when I booked the room. As the single bed was much too small for two people to sleep in, the desk staff asked me to return in 30 minutes and leave our luggage with them. We went out for dinner, and when we returned our double room had been prepared and our luggage hauled up there. Highly recommended.
