I consider the Safi Royal Luxury Centro one of the very best hotels in Monterrey…read more The buildings are beautiful, the decorations elegant, the facilities clean and well run. They have gorgeous garden and pool areas, nice well equipped fitness center, classy meeting rooms, excellent and friendly service, and are centrally located near anything you would need. With the on site restaurant and quality room service, laundry service and fast free Internet means you don't actually have to leave the premises. The famous Alameda Park is just a block away. There is both above ground and underground parking. The bellhops are fast, friendly and eager to please. The people at the front desk were helpful, engaging and efficient. I seldom saw a line. I was given a ticket for a complimentary drink at the bar as a welcome gesture. The gym, with windows to the garden area, has free weights as well as a number of other exercise equipment, towels, water bottles, etc. The pool can be busy on weekends as families enjoy the beautiful waterfall and very nice looking pool and jacuzzi. The hotel has two towers as well as rooms around the garden area. The rooms in the higher levels of the towers have great views of the city and the surrounding mountains. The Safi is a 100% smoke free environment. There is another Safi hotel in the San Pedro area also known for their elegance. Many locals come to the hotels' restaurants as they have excellent food and a beautiful elegant atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the classy piano background music in the restaurant, just enough for ambience but low enough you can easily carry on a conversation with others. I really enjoyed my stay and believe you will too.

This had to have been one of the worst stays in a hotel ever. First of all, I was put into a room…read morewhich should have never been sold, for various reasons. Overall, the Camino Real is a nice hotel, but it did nothing to help my stay. As you come into the hotel, it opens up into a huge marble-walled atrium, probably 5 or 6 stories high. First issue is the noise- it is unbearable with the echoing of music, people talking and at the time I was there, the mass of screaming and running children. It was absolutely unbearable. I arrived to my room, which was on the top of the atrium level, and my door was off the atrium, I thought surely it is a heavy door and will block out the sound. Boy was I wrong. Of course, the hotel was sold out and I was unable to change, but I did have high hopes that the din would die down later and allow me to sleep. The rooms are nice, lots of marble everywhere. However, the room seemed like it's being prepared for renovation. When I closed the blinds before getting ready for bed, I saw that there was a space for a roller, where no roller existed, but there were two other roller blinds, but they did not block out all of the light. On the other side from the atrium was my window facing the street, so I had the din of the atrium on one side and the rumble and roar of the traffic on the other- and anybody who has been to Mexico knows that the Mexicans like to stay out late. On Saturday morning, after a late night working, there was a LOUD piano playing in the atrium restaurant, which echoed horribly through my door. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast good, but that still failed to make up for the interrupted sleep. If you do stay here, make SURE to get a room ABOVE the atrium (floor 24 and higher) and on the opposite side from the street.

I'll keep the story-telling to a minimum and keep this review useful for travelers. There's a lot…read moreof good things to say here :) Room: I stayed in a 2 Queen-bed room with a friend/colleague. The room was very spacious and the beds not too close together. I found the bed to be very comfortable and soft with plenty of pillows and warm comforter. I slept very well! There's a reading light that shines over the bed if you need. There's a tv with channels in both Spanish & English, though most of the English channels were news. The closet is located in the bathroom, but there are plenty of drawers. The shower and toilet are separate from each other. Here's the catch, the door to the shower is clear, and the door to the bathroom itself (to access the sink) is also see-through. So if you're traveling with a person that isn't your partner, only 1 person can use the bathroom/walk in front of the bathroom at a time unless you're REALLY comfortable with them. So if you're showering and the 2nd person needs to leave, just tell them to be mindful and look the other way :) Hotel amenities: -There is a fitness center & spa that I did not use. Gym looks like there are plenty of cardio machines and some weight training items that will get the basic jobs done. -Pool:I loved this pool!!! There are plenty of chairs to lounge off to the side and someone on staff to bring you endless cervejas (not free). The pool has small waterfalls/fountains so there is a peaceful noise of water falling to allow you to relax. The water is the perfect temperature to dip yourself in without worry. It is long enough to swim up and down. -Restaurant: There is a restaurant located on the 2nd floor that does brunch buffet. It was not vegan-friendly, but they also have a full menu which has a few veggie options. I had the wrap which was already vegan as is! If you come at the right time, there might be live music provided by a musician playing the saxophone or another instrument. I thought it provided the perfect ambiance as I enjoyed my meal. Staff: Very friendly and many spoke English. No problems here. Location: Located in a busy district popular with business people. Lots of other large hotels in the area that remind you of the Las Vegas strip. I felt very safe walking around at night. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes (even a Starbucks), and bars. There is a shopping mall just a block away, where I found a bank that accepts Bank of America ATM cards without a foreign transaction fee. I even saw H&M and other American stores nearby. Overall, if you're traveling for work, this is a great hotel. If you're traveling for leisure, it might be on the pricier side (expect to pay US prices), but for the amenities and safety, this is a good option.

This hotel has at least ten floors. The inside is very modern, bright, clean and has a great open concept. The rooms are somewhat small, but do have vinyl flooring that is quiet when walking on. The bed was comfy with a nice king pillow. The bathroom is spacious with a stand only shower. The elevators were quick and the pool is outside. Breakfast is offered with your stay each day. The good vast options provided are excellent from eggs, rice, beans, bacon, sausage to fruit, yogurt, potatoes, cookies, muffins, chilaquiles to quesadillas. The breakfast option also offers a cook to order chef who will make anything you desire or anything on their menu for an additional cost. Near by, you'll find plenty of pharmacies, a few taco places and a McDonalds along with a 7-11. Overall, a wonderful stay, everyone was friendly, attentive and ready to be of service. It's in a great location and only 10 minutes walk to the plaza. The Front desk is staffed with English speakers who helped our group immensely. The Internet is fast in the rooms. We ate breakfast and dinner there for a week. We have a lot of people in our group and all commented about the food. It was delicious. The only negative thing is the elevators. There still doing some renovations to one of the elevators was not working. That left two elevators with one being an express elevator and not stopping at every floor. This became a problem at certain times of the day.

Hotel Huizache has lots or rustic charm as it offers many bungalow type rooms in a variety of sizes. They have an open parking area and lots of spaces either close to or if you are lucky right next to your room. We happened to stay in a room with a living area with kitchenette table, sofa and kitchen stocked with microwave, medium sized fridge and a small stove with oven. We had a living area and lots of space. The cleaning service is exceptional here. They will change your sheets daily unless you ask them not too and even then they will attempt to change your sheets. They sweep and mop room daily and clean bathrooms every day. We stayed 7 days. So this was amazing to me. I typically let housekeeping know that we don't need sheets changed regularly(I do not change my sheets at home daily so I don't expect it every day). If you have a vehicle I recommend this place as downtown Saltillo is about 8 minute drive from here. The hotel is located by a main thoroughfare that will close for an event similar to Ciclovia on Sundays. The main gate to enter is closed, but fortunately they do have another exit and you can leave hotel early on a Sunday if you want to avoid traffic. There are several restaurants and pharmacies walking distance from the hotel. They do offer a free small morning continental breakfast of coffee, milk, a tang orange drink with fruit, pastries and cereal. They also have air conditioning called mini splits. These are ideal as you control them with a remote and it's easy for you to decide how cool you want your room. Saltillo is known for being a colder place as it's high up mountain area, but it has become warmer in the summer and sees some hot days for those of us used to having an air conditioning unit. They have washer and dryers located near pool. Warning laundry room machines can take up to 2 hrs for a large load, I do not recommend large loads. If you have to then plan for time to be able to monitor your items. Note I put my clothes in at 7pm the washer still didn't finish at 9:30. If you love to swim the pool is beautiful and ample. During the week the place is quiet and not as packed but as the weekend nears it does get full, especially with larger families. I booked online on short notice and was able to ask for an extra day with no problem. I would definitely stay here again. This hotel is safe, clean, and staff is friendly.

I inquired directly with the hotel and they said it was due to their conversion rate. My Chase card does not have any FOREX transaction fees and they confirmed I was charged in MXN (Mexican Pesos). I provided the reservation e-mail and paper invoice to Chase and was able to successfully contest the difference. I'm so glad I asked for a paper invoice, because they said they would e-mail and I never received it. Thank goodness I waited around in the lobby before leaving. Once 5 minutes has passed and I never got my electronic invoice, I knew I had to have a paper invoice specifically for cases like these. I am a lifetime platinum member with over 1,000 nights in Marriott. I stayed here a few years ago and I thought the FX issue was an honest mistake, but now I see that this is quite intentional and many other customers have complained about this on trip advisor, Marriott reviews, etc... DO NOT STAY HERE, they will scam you with some BS internal FOREX fee; then charge your card. I've filed an official complaint with Marriott and they're currently investigating, but I doubt anything will happen since they're making Marriott money. I'll update here in case anything happens, but I'm not holding my breath. I encourage everyone to just do a charge back on the card, because these snakes will just draw out any reimbursement until the time period is over and you're no longer able to content the difference through your bank. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED, DO NOT STAY HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET OVER CHARGED AND SCAMMED!

After landing in Monterrey's airport, and going to eat with my buddy, he dropped me off at this hotel. I noticed that the surrounding area is clean, safe, and quiet. Checking in was no problem, and I opted for an upgrade, since having a great view of the city was very important to me. I got a 2-bed room on one of the upper levels. The room was spectacular. It was nicely decorated, sizable, with great amenities. There was a separate area with the shower and a bath tub, where I was able to relax while enjoying the view of this magnificent city. The room had a Nespresso machine, which I used to complement the morning coffee I ordered through room service. The food available here was great, it was very tasty, and prepared with a good balance of ingredients. I didn't have time to check out the gym nor the restaurant, but I was able to explore the surroundings. Across the street sits Metropolitan Center, a great place for fine dining. There is also Fashion Drive, which is a huge indoor mall with many great offerings. There are nightclubs in the area, but I did not have the opportunity to check them out, either. Daytime or nighttime, this place has plenty to do, and it is very safe. Later on, I learned that San Pedro Garza Garcia is the most affluent part of Mexico. It shows.
