I tested the restaurant and found it good although expensive for small portions. Warm atmosphere in the restaurant, by the bar and in the lounge. Rooms are very clean and give to the back not to the street so very quiet. Wifi on the 1st floor worked perfectly. Wifi for free. As you can expect in Germany, you get a bed with single blanquet. The only disappointment is regarding TV: not the wide flat screen but the choice of TV channels. Out of 60 channels there are only 2 that are not in German! One Algerian TV channel in French and Bloomberg in English. That's why I states that it is very German.

The beds are usually a twin size but ask for extra pillows (I always needed 3) to beef up your head. It is mostly other business travelers and you can easily walk to many places in Ahrensburg. For instance, the town center is a short 10 minute walk where there are many restaurants, pharmacy, bank/ATM and some nice pubs. Most of the restaurants & pubs are CASH ONLY so bring your Euros. The business area where the companies are mostly situated, "Gewerbegebiet Nord" is a quick €8 taxi ride OR you can walk through some nice neighborhoods over the train tracks, about 45 minutes. I found this exhilarating both at the beginning and end of a long day. The restaurant in the hotel is very good and the breakfast is excellent (which is why I walked to work). Also, very easy to get into downtown Hamburg either by the "S" bahn (commuter train) or the "U" bahn (subway). They are in different stations. S-bahn is quicker; U-bahn makes more stops. I always felt very safe everywhere I went in both Ahrensburg & Hamburg. Enjoy.
