We were given another room which was only marginally better. This hotel honestly thinks they are a 4 star hotel? In their dreams! They have the hygiene standards of a mud hut in Africa. And they should fire their chambermaids. Then we ordered dinner. The food was cold. They charge us a hefty markup and they give us cold food. If all that wasn't bad enough, the people in the room next to us started playing loud rap music, upsetting our dog. We complained to reception and we got a stinking lousy bad attitude. FINALLY an employee bothered to come up and he knocked on our door and said "I don't hear anything!" Don't hear anything? The music is pounding through the walls!! The employee was very rude and couldn't care less. There is NOTHING to recommend this place. Absolutely nothing. Don't stay here. Find another place.

Stayed here when we traveled to Germany and though the building is quite old, the room was somewhat…read moremodernized as well as the lobby and breakfast area. It is one of the few buildings that actually has a/c in it as well as an underground parking garage if you need those items. We were in a room on the alley side away from the cathedral so bell chimes were not heard. It also has a nice Bavarian style restaurant on the premises. About 8 months ago there was a new host (same beer and brewery, though). He tore down the place (virtually) and made everything new and fresh. The kitchen, restaurant, guest rooms were all refurbished and made "noice" (if you can hear the click!) Their menu is genuine Bavarian and the chef lives up to that standard. You want the best Bavarian dumplings? Search no more. My friends and I were searching for the best throughout Bavaria. You get them HERE. (period) Great pork roast (Schweinerns), you get it here. Authentic potato soup? Yep. Here. Apple Strudel? Yep. Here. And you'd want to kill your Bavarian grandma after tasting them. Poor grandma, she was trying her best... When we arrived, the place was crowded, but we got lucky and snagged a table just five minutes after a group of four paid their bill. Seating is fairly close to neighboring tables, but it was still very comfortable and added to the lively, bistro-style ambiance. The food was excellent across the board--everyone at the table loved their dishes. A special shoutout to the grilled squid, which was sooo good and easily one of the highlights of the meal. Our server was amazing as well: friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. It's located right in the old town district, very conveniently located for shopping and sight-seeing and getting around town. The rooms are spacious and gorgeous, though they definitely have a quirky and authentic European flare, as does the rest of the hotel in general. Little touches like complimentary bottle of wine and a chocolate on the pillow made the stay that much more enjoyable. Reservations include breakfast every morning in the restaurant downstairs, which is another local favorite. Standard breakfast includes bread basket, and a plate of meats, cheeses, yogurt and fruits, plus juice and coffee or tea. What a great way to start the day. The restaurant gets crowded at night for dinner and cocktails crowd, so it's a great way to end the night as well. I loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone.
