Location, location & location! Ideal spot close to all the major historical sites yet far enough from all the crowds. Our room was clean with a comfortable bed, good shower and nice amenities. I didn't care for the hair dryer that turns off every 2 minutes (a heat saver). Bring your own. We were so busy on our 4 day trip that we didn't have a chance to take advantage of the spa. We didn't even get a chance to turn on the TV. The nice thing is you have restaurants just outside the door with plenty of options and entertainment. The front desk/concierge were extremely helpful and made our trip problem free anticipating all our needs. We felt welcomed from the moment we entered greeting us with cool drinks and hand towels on our arrival day. It was a nice touch as well with the snacks too that they have waiting for you in your room. We loved all the little things they did to make our stay "special." We would definitely stay here again read more

We had a one night layover in Istanbul and wanted to spend it as close to the action as possible to try and fit in the main sites. I spent quite a lot of time researching places and finally settled on Hotel Sultania. The pictures looked amazing and I was willing to splurge a little bit for a rushed night of luxury. To be fair, this really is an amazing location. It wasn't easy for our transportation to find it though and we went around in circles before opting to just get out and find it on foot, at midnight, with luggage, but such is life. Check in was easy and the staff was super nice. The room itself was not quite the luxury suite I had seen in the pictures, and although it was nice and spacious, it was definitely old, dated, and the bathroom needed a serious face-lift. Speaking of the bathroom, the door was odd and served as both the shower door and the entire bathroom door, depending on it's positioning, which resulted in some bathroom sharing issues between the two of us. The free breakfast in the morning seemed quite good, but alas our tour guide showed up early and we began the tour after only 3 minutes of checking out breakfast. Bags were stored until the end of our tour and our driver took us back to the airport which was great. The staff all seemed very pleasant and we felt very welcomed! read more
Location location location! We stayed for 5 days and were blown away by the hospitality of this hotels staff! From the first moment of arriving with a welcome lemonade to the end of our stay. We did a lot of walking but were able to see many historical sights due to the location.our concierge was absolutely amazing (gulsen). She made sure our in town trips went without a glitch. The front desk was absolutely on point and professional at all stages of our stay. A shout out to Semih for taking care of all of my request efficiently. Housekeeping was also amazing for the cleanliness of our room each day was unmatched by any other hotels my family has stayed. We had prepaid for breakfast all week and if you know me, I enjoy a good breakfast and they did not disappoint from my coffee, latte, and of course our tea Rabiea made some wonderfully delicious concoctions and Emre was always smiling and ready to serve my family whatever we wished for. The menu was very simple, yet all fresh and abundant. I tried all different Turkish recipes from the Turkish coffee to the sausages and cheese.s. I could go on about how nice this place is but I do not think I have the room for it. The tour guide was set up through the front desk(Semih) and was named Sertah . He was extremely knowledgeable and so passionate about his job . With that said , if you can get him for a walking tour of the old city , do it ! This was my first trip to Istanbul and hopefully not my last . If and when I do come back , there will be no where but hotel sultania as my place to stay! read more

There were few hiccups at the check in, as well as annoying non-stop construction noise from the neighbor hotel. However, staff was super friendly and helpful and did their best to change the situation and show as much hospitality as possible. read more
My wife and I stayed for several days at the Hotel Sultania, located conveniently close to many tourist attractions like Topkapi Palace, Justinian Cistern, Grand Bazaar, the Spice Bazaar and the Hagia Sophia. I think there are many little hotels in this area, but the staff make it the best. We greatly enjoyed talking to Hilmi and Gursoy, they were friendly, helpful and took time to help us with maps. We'd stay there again, and heartily endorse this nice hotel. read more

Great place to stay in the heart of the old city. Walking distance to all the great sites and also to good food! Enjoy your hastle-free stay here. Love that they have a driver from the airport (one you can charge to your hotel room fee via credit card, instead of trying to find money upon just arriving in the country)! read more

This was our 3rd visit to Istanbul and first time in Hotel Sultania. We are extremely happy with our choice. Hotel Sultania is located close to most historical sites eliminating need to use taxi. Hotel staff are by far the best of any hotels, any where in the world that we have visited. Our rooms were comfortable. We booked online and got the best price. We strongly recommend Hotel Sultania. read more

What a great place. It's right in the heart of the old city, and within walking distance to all the big attractions (and tram to others). The staff are beyond nice and helpful. For example, on our departure, we left very early. The staff offered to brew us some fresh coffee while we waited for our car service. The rooms are clean and unique. It's the old city, so nothing is huge, but we had a nice balcony, modern bathroom, and comfortable bed. A highlight was the breakfast buffet. A mix of local specialties, western fare, and an omelette bar. Will definitely go back here on my next visit. read more

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and owe it to the staff and its location for why my trip to Turkey was such a great experience. Having spent 6 days in Istanbul with the excellently located Hotel Sultania as our home base, I felt right at home with a beautiful balance of classing Turkish flair, and a taste of home allowing us to feel in our element. The daily breakfast was great because any given day I could have my fair share of a more Turkish/European style food, but still have the fresh fruit, omelettes and cereal I would eat back home if I ever wanted it. The outside patio was a perfect start to my day, with little/no tourist foot traffic in the mornings, and getting to watch the restaurants prep for their busy days. The staff were beyond accommodating, even remembering after a single day what kind of coffee/tea I'd ordered, and offering to make it the same way without me even needing to ask. Our rooms were nice, well decorated, and cleaned very consistently. I felt quite safe and comfortable knowing that since this was a smaller, boutique style hotel, I was among fewer guests and a more personal touch by the staff. I used the gym they offer, which was rather small and limited in its options. We also had ourselves a Turkish Hamam Spa/Massage, and while it was my first, it was mostly just okay. Nothing spectacular or reinvigorating, but definitely a nice experience to have had while in Turkey. I recommend this hotel and would come again in a heartbeat. read more
