My room had a very small TV at the foot of the bed pointed away from the bed at a chair. Not that most people check in to watch TV, but I was worried I may kick off the blankets and kick it over so I requested it be moved or removed altogether, to which the receptionist said they couldn't until the next day(when I check-out), and that he would not be responsible for personally moving it himself, but that I would be responsible if I accidentally damaged it. They didn't have any other rooms available to switch me to and offered no solutions. Update: the hotel responded indicating I could be subject to legal issues for saying I was going to give them bad reviews on any platforms I use

I don't get the negative reviews for this hotel because I loved it! Granted, I was staying here in…read morethe winter and yes, there's no a/c, but that's Europe for you. This hotel is located in a beautiful historic building right on the corner opposite the train station (making it super convenient if you have an early train or if you're carrying bags). It's directly across the street and is less than a 5 minute walk door to door. Even better, you can easily walk to Luzern's beautiful old town and the famous bridge in less than 10 minutes. I don't know why, but we were upgraded to a beautiful business double suite upon check-in. Located on one of the top floors, our room was huge and spacious with a sleek and modern design. The room was very comfortable, mostly due to the space, the modern bathroom, and the great amenities (including an in-room mini refrigerator). Our room was also equipped with several thoughtful features, including complimentary toiletries, a hair dryer, an in-room safe, a tea kettle, and free WiFi. The entire property is SMOKE-FREE which is great, and the rooms were spotlessly clean. The windows to our room opened so we could cool it down quickly. Our view was less than stellar as we looked out onto housing. And as is the case with most European hotels, the bed was hard and not so great. There's a hotel restaurant in the lobby that serves breakfast (which was included free of charge with our room rate), but we chose to sleep in instead of partaking. There are also plenty of places to eat nearby, including a McDonald's right next door (but don't do it!!) and a convenient COOP market across the street. There's also a nice reading room off the main lobby that offers a quiet and comfortable place to sit and work. The front desk staff did have a bit of a Swiss aloofness to them, reminding me much of the hotel staffs across France, but they did warm up when I smiled and complimented them on their lovely city and country. This is a fabulous hotel and I highly recommend it if you're traveling to Switzerland. I'll not hesitate to stay here again if I'm ever back in Luzern.

It's at least a 7-minute walk from the station which is not bad. The hotel we wanted to stay at was fully booked and next best thing was Radisson Blu. It's tuck behind the station in a quieter area. As much as I want to find things to hate about this hotel, I just can't because the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We arrived here from 1.5 hour train ride from Zurich, still half-asleep. We were not expecting to be able to check in but they stored our luggage for us. As an introvert, it takes a lot for me to joke around with random people and starting from the front desk, I felt at ease. I was minding my own business checking out their robot butler, Jeeves and the concierge was telling me all about it in a non-annoying way. So, we started joking around and laughing and the front desk crew joined in. What a good first impression! We got upgraded to a bigger room with a view of Lake Luzern. I thought I had already posted pictures from this hotel before deleting them but I'm now realizing I most certainly did not! But the room was very spacious. Plenty of room even with 2 large suitcases, shopping bags, totes, and 2 backpacks. The bed was very comfy. I took well-rested naps in the afternoon and 8 hours of deep sleep at night. They have a decent gym. There's a restaurant at the ground floor to the right of the lobby. A few of elevators. The weather in Switzerland in May can be sunny and cool to cloudy and rainy or just downpour for half a day. I packed a poncho, a rain jacket, and a winter coat for when I go to the mountains. I refuse to bring an umbrella. Some hotels in Switzerland have umbrellas free to their guests, some you have to rent, some don't offer umbrellas at all. So, in my years of travel experience, I learned to be self-reliant and pack what I could need. The toiletries didn't smell bad but it wasn't my favorite. It was generic. Free bottles of water daily not that we needed it because Swiss tap water is the best. It's parallel to a walking path. Some restaurants outside. Close to KKZ. In short, we had a great stay here. It was a good hotel in a good location. It's close to everything including the train station. The…read morerooms are clean and modern. The view of Lake Lucerne is a bonus. It was nice to wake up to a beautiful view daily. There are a couple of reasons why I'm giving them a 4 star review versus a 5. We never received wash cloths the entire time we were there. Is there a shortage of wash cloths? The shower/bathtub doesn't drain very well unless you totally remove the stopper. The duvet cover on the bed doesn't hang over the sides. It's as if it's too small for the size of the bed. Fortunately, the bed was comfortable. I did like the fact that there were 2 pairs of slippers. We had a Nespresso coffee machine in the room. Our housekeeper always had the room cleaned in good time. We never actually saw the housekeeper. There's a robot named Jeeves who can deliver snacks and drinks to your room. Perhaps I should have called Jeeves to deliver some wash cloths. Other than that, it was a good 4 star hotel stay. I think the high Swiss rate is for the location. We couldn't have asked for a better location.

This charming little house is beautifully decorated, and with personal care. When I entered, I immediately felt peace and comfort, not to mention the amazing view. The rooms were spotless and homey. The breakfast was fresh and traditional, giving me the feeling of a well rounded Swiss experience. Susanna and the rest of the staff worked tirelessly to ensure that we had a memorable stay. It brought me to tears when we had to leave for our next location, because hotel Cathrin has stolen my heart. My friends and I agree that it was the highlight of our whole trip.
