I found this place on a travel booking website and found the reviews to be very mixed, but the owners very responsive to follow up to ensure they understood the issue to fix for next time. I was looking for a low budget Paris hotel in the St. Germaine area, with OK reviews, and near a metro station, and this one fit the bill.
The hotel was easy to find thanks to Yelp maps, the map on the hotel website was not detailed enough. The hotel is just right around the corner from the main road, and is noticeable by the large green awning at the entrance with the name of the hotel printed in large white letters. As you enter the sliding glass doors, you are immediately standing in a very small narrow room with an elevator and stairs going up. The reception desk is built directly under the staircase. The staff was friendly, and spoke English, only wish they would have explained that you need to update your room key-card each day as they recode them for security purposes. There is always someone at the reception desk 24h a day, and they buzz you in the main lobby door after hours.
I was in room 12, and was surprised by how spacious the room was. There were two large windows, and a separate bathroom. While the furniture is outdated, the bed was moderately comfortable, and everything was clean. I appreciated the free wifi in the room, and was surprised by how strong and fast the connection was. There was a space heater provided, TV, and extra blankets if needed.
Their is a breakfast offered for 11 Euros, but the cost is not included in the room.
Only complaint is that the extra lock for security on the door didn't work as it didn't appear to be aligned correctly on the door. I just put one of the extra chairs in front of the door for safety of mind. Overall happy with the stay and loved that GROM and PAUL were on the same street. read more
